If you have been used to PowerPoint the you'll feel something lacking in Impress. I was stuck using Impress on my Employer provided Laptop. And I had PowerPoint installed on my personal Laptop. For something more significant I always found myself reverting back to PowerPoint. It was a quick solution whenever I needed to present some ideas or reports to my supervisor. It is a free office source that has most of the applications available in the MS office like word, excel, presentation etc. On Linux, I found this is a perfect application for regular use. But I think that is unnecessarily giving in the pop-up screes while opening a document. Later I realized that it only appears for some documents which are not closed or saved correctly. It's really helpful to be able to edit or even just access the presentation from my phone, especially if I have to make a quick easy edit and don't really need to see the full screen sized slides. Things are best that its open source , feature rich, and most versatile tool I have ever been seen. I totally loved its clean interface, documents are properly well structured. Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice Impress: I might consider adding a tutorial to making it easy to make Libre Office default for all formats, such as documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, instead of having to choose every time. We stopped using Word as we had an issue with our license and didn't thin it was worth to upgrade. We mainly use Google Suite and Libre Office, which makes it really easy to save documents in different formats, such as PDF. At the time of switching, this was not easy with Word.
