## LevelBlue MDR / MXDR Reviews
  ### 1. Robust/Reliable Security, With Some Initial Setup Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir S. | Tech Lead and Technical Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2024

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Alert Logic MDR stands out in terms of detailed threat detection for varied environments I manage, like AWS, Azure, and on-premises. Its integration across platforms is smooth, allowing me to centralize security across client projects without much overhead. The real win, though, is their Security Operations Center (SOC) and access to cybersecurity experts. They are proactive, and the level of insight they bring means that I don’t have to worry about constantly staying ahead of threats by myself—they’re an extension of my team. I find their threat intelligence genuinely useful, especially when they help tune the detection systems to avoid false alarms.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

The only drawback is the upfront setup; it’s a bit of a learning curve, especially if your team is new to integrating MDR in multiple cloud environments. I wouldn’t call it out of reach, but it does need an experienced hand at the start. Also, advanced threat-hunting features are excellent, but they come at a premium—great for large projects but potentially overkill for smaller setups.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alert Logic MDR streamlines threat detection across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments, providing centralized security without dedicating extensive internal resources. Its SOC team’s proactive monitoring allows me to focus on development while knowing our infrastructure is continuously and expertly protected.

**Official Response from Product Marketing:**

> Thanks for taking the time to write a review, Amir. We are happy to hear the SOC's expertise and proactive monitoring has been beneficial for your organization's security.

  ### 2. AlertLogic by Fortra

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

The console is deep. It allows the admin to customize to a very fine degree. This tuning and customization is not just through the console, but also through the dedicated SOC who i have found to be very quick to respond and willing to advise and make changes on your behalf.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

It takes a some time and effort to get your account and system dialed in. If you are looking for a turn key set and forget solution, AlertLogic may not be for you. That said, once you have put in the time and effort, the results are worth the investment.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were collecting too much data and logs for a small IT shop to handle internally. We needed a partner would could help make sense of the deluge of Azure, AD, Linux, Defender information that was being collected.

**Official Response from Product Marketing:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're happy to hear the results have been worth it for you.

  ### 4. Saves us from building our own SOC

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yasser S. | Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2024

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

I like the easy-to-use dashboard. While it provides a high-level overview of our security incidents, we are able to dig into details like packet captures and analysis via SQL to validate threats. The best benefit for our small team is the ability to customise the alerts so that we can control SOC calls for the events of interest to us.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

The learning curve was a challenge. Since all the training was online-only, I couldn't ask questions easily.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have to build and manage our own SOC.

**Official Response from Product Marketing:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback, Yasser. It's great to hear the alerts and dashboard have been useful.

PCI scanning and Repots, Vulnerability response

  ### 26. A Complete, Effective Security System That I Recommend Buying

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nero L. | IT Infrastructure Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Alert Logic is a relatively inexpensive program, especially if you plan to use it on only a few systems. However, the demo version is good enough to get a feel for the effectiveness and all the features.
Anomaly detection is susceptible and responds immediately when something extraordinary happens.
The present algorithms are pretty good and handy if your organization does not have an overly complex system.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Alert Logic's interface is a bit cumbersome. It feels a bit slow and clunky, although this doesn't hinder its analysis capabilities.
Anyway, it is a problem that could be due to the wrong connection or that it needs a lot of bandwidth to use it in the foreground, so I can't say it's not solvable.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alert Logic has a feature that caught our attention: its price is scalable. At first, we used it in one part of the company to get a feel for the performance, but it soon became the leading security software for the entire organization.
It is the software we use to monitor systems in all departments, allowing us to concentrate on our activities without worrying about data security.
We keep notifications active to know when there is a threat risk and can take preventive measures in time.

Alert Logic has been great for monitoring vulnerabilities within our network nothing that I dislike towards it.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has given full cloud security protection that we need.

Proactive security: its solutions are design to proactively identify and mitigate threats before they can cause damage.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

1. Alert Logic's security solutions can be pricey and complex to configure and manage. However, its templates are helpful if you don't know how exactly create a custom security system.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Alert Logic to protect various IT infrastructures and applications, including web servers, email servers and databases. I also use it to monitor and respond to security threats in real time.

  ### 29. Avoid cyber threats with ALERTLOGIC!!!!

On some occasions it is necessary to have more information on how to resolve the exposures detected by the alert logic tool.

At this time the tool helps us find those access keys that are not being used or that need rotation.

  ### 31. A cybersecurity software worth buying

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bennet W. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

These programs are usually costly, but it is not the case with Alert Logic. Years ago, we ordered the demo version and got a good impression: the program seemed simple but with excellent features.

Alert Logic anomaly detection is fast and accurate, and it responds almost immediately. In addition, the notifications help understand what is going on, even if we have mechanisms that act automatically to prevent infiltrations. Alert Logic's original algorithms suit small organizations that do not handle sensitive information.

Technical support always answers any questions we have.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Alert Logic was very good when we acquired it a few years ago, but it hasn't progressed much.

The interface is a bit laggy, making it confusing for new users.

Despite being a simple program, fully implementing it takes quite a time. I feel the process could be streamlined with an interface that allows you to use fewer clicks to get the same result.

**Recommendations to others considering LevelBlue MDR / MXDR:**

Configuring Alert Logic takes some time: the interface is a bit old, and uu ost to check that everything is in order. On the other hand, detection algorithms will always be better if you create them according to the company's needs. Of course, it takes even more time, but the result is an armored system and network.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Alert Logic to monitor the security of our network 24/7. The reporting system is perfect for knowing if we have any faults that require attention before any external intervention. In addition, the notifications are helpful when similar situations occur. It is also the software we use in security testing for the program we develop for our clients.

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

I like how Alert Logic MDR has relieved me from manual threat hunting by incorporating AI and machine learning which automate all processes.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Lack of enough pricing data almost had me running were it not for quick response upon demo request.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has improved reputation of our brand by protecting digital assets and customer data against intruders.

  ### 34. A good security system for business of any size

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine W. | Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Real-time alerts seem to be one of Alert Logic's strong points. They work pretty well thanks to the well-developed detection system. This feature is the basis of our security peace of mind.

This software has been effortless to deploy and configure on all our machines. It took very little time to get everything up and running on the systems.

The price seems quite suitable for all companies because it is scalable.

It's a simple tool that adapts perfectly to the evironment.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

Alert Logic has sent us false positives when it detects threats on the internal network a few times. It's not a big deal, but those times have been awkward because it took us a while to figure it out.

The interface is intimidating for users unfamiliar with this type of software. In addition, its number of functions is a bit intimidating, especially if we consider functions that are not so related to the security part. However, I don't find it complicated.

Luckily, these are points that can be improved.

**Recommendations to others considering LevelBlue MDR / MXDR:**

Alert Logic is an excellent software to apply in almost any organization that wants to improve its security. The variety of levels also allows for scalability as the company grows.

I think it is necessary to centralize the security system in Alert Logic or make it the main point. Notifications should always be active to keep the systems constantly monitored.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alert Logic is the backbone of our company's security system. All our machines are monitored by it. It has allowed us to handle our customers' information more carefully to ensure their privacy.

It is also the program we use for security testing on projects requested by our customers.

With Alert Logic, the security threats have been shallow, and the security tests have given more than satisfactory results.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

The Alert Logic team is well organized and knowledgeable about their products and services. With the assistance of their staff, the solution is easy to install and manage.

**What do you dislike about LevelBlue MDR / MXDR?**

MDR is a complicated system to set up and manage. Also, while we understand the costs of operating a 24X7 SOC would be orders of magnitude higher than the costs for Alert Logic, the solution is expensive. We need more time using their system to determine if we believe the value is here.

**What problems is LevelBlue MDR / MXDR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security is a critical consideration for any environment. We are not large enough to have our own dedicated 24X7 security team on staff. However, we are large enough to where we need to have 24X7 security monitoring and response. Alert Logic MDR helps fill this need.
