Even after acknowledging that they were charging me for a service they couldn't provide, they couldn't articulate which service they were offering. Also, they notify you about late filings, which forces you to hire their staff at a high cost because they don't let you complete the filings yourself. I found their business practices to be fraudulent, and they took advantage of people. LegalZoom lacks transparency and fair conduct and does not provide a reminder a week ahead of the subscription being due. **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** LegalZoom helped keep track of some filing deadlines for my LLC while living outside the USA but was not specific about all deadlines and engaged in unethical business practices. ### 2. I appreciate the user-friendliness of creating legal documents and the confidence it gives me knowing they are written correctly. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** I find the pricing of LegalZoom to be a drawback, as I would prefer a reduction in cost. This aspect is something I would like to see improved in their services. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** It's great! Fast and easy access to customized legal docs **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use LegalZoom for creating legal documents like customer service agreements and trademark applications. It simplifies the process with user-friendly tools and provides valuable reminders for filings, giving me confidence that everything is done correctly. ### 3. Its clean and easy. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** The pricing is not “flat-fee and transparent” as they like to tout on their website. What I thought would be a $500 expense based off their website pricing (Economy package + MN state filing fees + RA) turned into an actual $1,000 expense… **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** Be careful and pay extra attention to pricing details. **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Wanted to register a C-Corp in Delaware and donit right. This company is a scam and they will keep charging your CC. Be aware! **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** Everything. They put me in a very bad situation with my LLC not having been created on time for me to start invoicing my clients. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** I created an LLC with LegalZoom with expedited processing. The initial cost was $400, they ended up charging me $1000+. A month later, when I wanted to access my LLC documents, they havent filed anything, they have no history of my payments and completely refused to help out! I am disputing their charges as fraud! ### 5. They offer everything that you might need to start your company and get it filed. There are step-by-step instructions to get you started if you are a novice. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** Some of the options can be a little confusing. There are also many different things that Legal Zoom is going to try and upsell you on. You may think that you have to use what they are offering if you are not careful. **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allowed me to create my LLC, file the information with the state, and provide all of the paperwork I needed to get started. Their advocacy program saves so much time and aggrivation. ### 6. Nothing great about it, but it met our needs. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** Nothing really jumps out as a major issue, but the interface looks like it hasn't been updated in 15 years. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** There may be cheaper, faster, or sleeker options out there but LegalZoom is a solid option. **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Filing the required legal documents to incorporate my business and acting as our registered agent. ### 7. It guides you through every detail and forms are legally binding. ### 8. Has nice web interface to access your documents later. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** They can be pricey when you start stacking many services, some that are pretty unnecessary. They use scare tactics to get you to purchase additional services that you can find for free or cheaper, but it's just faster to use LegalZoom at that moment. **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Created an LLC. Was able to get my business set up quickly, and move on to the many other tasks necessary to run a business. ### 9. It is good if you want to keep costs down. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** It is not an actual lawyer. So - you have to be sure that you are interpreting correctly. If you have a larger project - you need a real lawyer. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** This is an inexpensive way to get legal advice. I would recommend it for very simple needs. **What problems is LegalZoom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Incorporation. The benefit is that this is USUALLY not a big deal - and can be done inexpensively with such a service. ### 10. You should also really seek review of any documents you print before filing them- unintended consequences can have extreme consequences **What do you like best about LegalZoom?** Printable/fillable forms that work very well. The "help" explanations are also very helpful for those not familiar with the legal system, though it troubles me a bit because it could be construed (in some circumstances) to be akin to legal advice. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** That you have to pay for the forms that are otherwise typically available at no charge through the judiciary website. I also worry with sites like this that it creates false hope and expectations for people when they read something online and the judicial system does't function as described or intended- a common theme in courts across the country. I know there are disclaimers and such, but having a video to really emphasize that courts have particular rules and practices and such would make the point more clear for those who aren't familiar with the functioning (or dysfunction!) of the legal system **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** Be sure to verify the forms meet your needs for your particular state- there may have been updates to the rules, requirements, or forms ### 11. Their prices seem reasonable and not that expensive I think I will let LegalZoom do all my paperwork for her business **What do you like best about LegalZoom?** I liked the best the way the website is set up and it’s easy to navigate. I like how you can chat with them to get help. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** I don’t dislike LegalZoom at all. LegalZoom made it easy for me to take their templates and customize them. The forms ranged from a sales agreement to a Non-Disclosure agreement. **What do you like best about LegalZoom?** No need for a lawyer. Range of options. Easy to search for what you need. **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** There's not much to not like about LegalZoom. If anything they make it very easy to like them. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** This is the most complete set of legal forms you can find. Once you locate the agreement you need, customizing them is straightforward and easy. ### 13. The initial setup was fast and easy but then there were some hiccups. And then I didn't receive a follow up email with revised forms nor was it in the dashboard. The customer service agent told me that it takes a long time for the paperwork to be digitally uploaded to the dashboard. **What do you like best about LegalZoom?** I liked that they have good hours available for contacting a customer service specialist. And they are all based in the U.S. and are friendly **What do you dislike about LegalZoom?** I didn't like that the dashboard doesn't have the paper documents they sent me - what kind of platform doesn't upload to the cloud?! To make matters worse, when you sign up to receive specials from their partners you are inundated and flooded with calls, emails persistently. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** Just be warned that if you sign up, you will get flooded with calls from tax accountants, compliance and more who want your business. ### 14. They were dishonest about phone calls they said they'd made, each person we speak to contradicts the last. They're clearly trying to squeeze more and more money out of us. We've spent over $1500 with them since last June just trying to dissolve one company, this is still not complete. **Recommendations to others considering LegalZoom:** Go elseware. ### 15.
