"Efficient 3D Modeling for Urban Planning"
4/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I appreciate Leapfrog Geo's implicit 3D modeling engine and real-time dynamic updating capability, which have totally transformed our architecture and planning workflows in Hanover. It automatically builds consistent, accurate subsurface models from drilling data, soil profiles, and groundwater surveys, saving us a lot of time during iterative planning phases. The model updates instantly whenever new site investigation data becomes available, without full reconstruction. Also, the 3D visualization and cross-section tools are really impressive, allowing us to generate clear, professional cutaways, volume calculations, and interactive models, making complex geological conditions understandable for architects, clients, and municipal reviewers. This has improved communication and sped up project approvals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

The interface is overly specialized for mining and geological professionals, not built for architects and urban planners. Many planning-focused functions are buried deep in complex menus, requiring extra training and slowing down our workflow. Basic tasks like adjusting visualization styles for client presentations or exporting clean linework for CAD/BIM feel unintuitive and need repeated tweaks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful 3D Modeling, Steep Learning Curve"
4/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I appreciate Leapfrog Geo's implicit 3D modeling engine and real-time dynamic data updating capabilities. These features transform our geological research and teaching by eliminating the need for tedious manual wireframing and repeated adjustments. Leapfrog Geo generates consistent 3D geological models automatically from drillhole data, field observations, and geochemical samples. This significantly reduces repetitive manual work and minimizes human error. I find it invaluable for ongoing field research projects because the model updates instantly with new survey data or drill results, instead of requiring full reconstruction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

First, the learning curve is extremely steep, especially for undergraduate and graduate students new to 3D modeling. Many basic functions lack intuitive controls, and the interface prioritizes industry professionals over academic users, requiring extensive training time that takes away from research and coursework. Second, localization and regional data support are lacking, particularly for German and European geological standards. Default formatting, coordinate systems, and reporting templates align more with international mining norms than academic or regional environmental research, forcing manual adjustments for compliance with local research protocols. "Helpful for fast interpretation changes during exploration work"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

What helped me most with Leapfrog Geo was the speed at which interpretations can be updated when new drilling information arrives. In exploration projects things change constantly, and older workflows made every adjustment feel slow and repetitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

The software is powerful but definitely not lightweight when starting out. There are many tools and workflows that take time before they feel natural.

Large projects can also become hardware intensive, especially when working with dense datasets and multiple models simultaneously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Better 3D views and Fast Data Interpolation"
5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I use Leapfrog Geo primarily for working with 3D geological models, and I love its strong 3D visualization capabilities, which makes understanding complex geological structures much easier. I can cut through models in any direction, allowing me to navigate freely in 3D space. This feature is very useful for comprehending basin evolution and visualizing geomodels clearly, especially for interpolating thermal data. The implicit modeling allows quick updates and smooth triangulation, so I can test different geological interpretations without rebuilding the model from scratch. I also appreciate that Leapfrog Geo is user-friendly, making the initial setup easy and quick. Compared to EarthVision, I found that Leapfrog Geo offers better 3D visualization, handles data updates faster, and is easier to use, making our workflows smoother and helping us interpret geological models more quickly and clearly. The software works smoothly and is overall easy to use, which did not slow down our workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

One thing could be improved in Leapfrog Geo is the ability to view depth along planned drillholes. Right now this feature is missing and it slows down the process when trying to manipulate and model geological units. If the feature is added, it would make working with drillhole data much quicker and easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clear visualization of underground geological structures"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

The greatest opportunity that I perceive in Leapfrog Geo lies in the fact it assists us in creating a comprehensive geological interpretation on the basis of drilling data. The frequency of the exploration team is high when carrying out projects because it is a constant requirement throughout the project work. I like the quantity of functions which enable us to build geological surfaces, to check mineral areas and to see underground constructions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

My primary imperative comes in the form of supporting geological models in long-term exploration programs. Our geologists developed a few layers of interpretation during the implementation, however, having to update them following new drilling campaigns, some adjustments are sometimes crucial. These changes may be time consuming in case of many geologists since those are used frequently in our exploration team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifying Geological Workflows"
5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I primarily use Leapfrog Geo for building and interpreting geological models based on drilling and subsurface data. The software helps me visualize geological formations in 3D, which makes it much easier to understand the relationships between different layers and structures. The implicit modeling tools are especially helpful because they allow me to update interpretations quickly when new data becomes available. One of the things I like most is its interface and user-friendly modeling environment. The interface feels very smooth and well-organized, which makes it easy to navigate through different datasets and modeling tools. I also really appreciate the strong visualization and analysis tools available in the software. The ability to generate cross sections, evaluate spatial distributions, and review subsurface data from different perspectives is extremely helpful during analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

There are a few areas where I think Leapfrog Geo could be improved. One aspect is performance when working with very large datasets. When a project contains a large number of drillholes or extensive historical data, the software can sometimes become slower, which may affect overall workflow efficiency. Another area that could be improved is the flexibility of some reporting and layout customization options. The cross section and visualization tools are very useful, but having more advanced options for customizing report layout and exporting figures would make it easier to prepare presentation-ready output directly from the software. "Empowers Geomodeling with Exceptional Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I really appreciate the support and feedback from the Leapfrog Geo team. Having access to tutorials and resources is incredibly helpful, and the company specialists have guided me through complex workflows for specific model builds. Their technical support is invaluable, especially for navigating particularly complex workflows. The availability of tutorials has introduced me to functionalities I might not use daily. I also find the software's ability to cut through models in any orientation and navigate in space useful, as it enhances the understanding of basin evolution. Leapfrog Geo also stands out because it significantly improves the visualization of 3D geomodels and is extremely useful for interpolating thermal data. The ease of the initial setup using the tutorials is another highlight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

I believe one important area for improvement is the management of color scales for different surfaces. There should be more flexibility to create and customize color scales based on specific attributes such as depth, thickness, or temperature. At the moment, the control and adaptability of color scales are somewhat limited. In addition, while the software is highly effective for modeling ore bodies, faults, and vein systems, there appears to be a relative lack of dedicated tools tailored to sedimentary basin analysis, particularly for handling unconformities, onlapping relationships, and stratigraphical architectures typical of normal sedimentary environments.
