## Lead Forensics Reviews
  ### 1. Don't sign up! They will not cancel nor stop billing you.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The daily visit reports are interesting, but often inaccurate.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I can't link visitors to contacts, and their billing and customer service are terrible.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was supposed to help identify actionable leads, but is ineffective at connecting companies to contacts. The same functionality is already in our HubSpot implementation and this is not effective.

**Official Response from Reviews LF:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We're disappointed to hear about your experience, particularly regarding billing and customer service. We take these concerns seriously, but unfortunately we're unable to identify your account from this review. Please contact us at reviews@leadforensics.com with your details so we can investigate your concerns and work towards a resolution.

  ### 2. Long term customer - awful customer service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Being able to see which companies have visited your website each day.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

We've been a long term customer of Lead Forensics, price hikes each year without improving the software has made it difficult to justify this software over alternative channels which have consistently provided better ROI.

The reason for the 1 star, is partially the above, but primarily the awful customer service approach when it came to cancelling the contract. We were 1 day past the 30day auto renewal date, and they have forced us to pay in full for a service we won't be using.

Very short sighted business approach, when there are so many alternatives out there.

I would highly recommend considering alternatives.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Showing which companies have visited our company each day.

  ### 3. Waste of money!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Nothing at all! Terrible! Very misleading...

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Very misleading concept! They make it sound as if so many people are visiting your website and you will obtain so much information on leads and contact those leads. The only contacts we are getting are ppl looking for jobs, companies looking at us to sell us something, competitors looking at our website and maybe one customer that we already called upon navigating our website.
Why spend close to $700 per month ($8,400/yr.) just to obtain that information. They make you lock into an agreement for one year because they are NOT confident their product works so they snag you! Most companies are confident enought that you can cancel in 30 days or at any time! When you try to cancel or ask for help no one can help you!
WASTE OF MONEY!

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to get out of the one year contract and we are locked in. Literally throwing money out of the windo every month.

  ### 4. Awful experience when telling Lead Forensics that our company wanted to cancel the subcription

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

It is very easy to set up and you just need to provide your website URL

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

This is a very poor company and software solution that pretends to customize the experience and then forces you into a standard tool with no ad-hoc analysis.

Lots of issues with the tool itself: the integration with Hubspot is a premium and is not included, and the design of the platform is very poor. The data you get is not that actionable or precise.

The customer service: the customer service is very poor, and the customer success team forces clients to stay on board even if your company is not using the service and the platform anymore, and this despite several calls that have for objective of canceling the subscription.

Lead Forensics claims that because you keep the access even if you are not using it anymore, and therefore you need to remain a customer and pay for the service (even if not using). The company does not really care about your success or the actionable insights that you get from the data.

In addition:

- Lack of personalization or attention to the customer's individual needs
- Inability to resolve customer issues in a timely and effective manner
- Failure to follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the solution (pretends that they can improve the service to match your expectations through numerous calls, and then they do nothing and they force you to keep your subscription)
- Disrespectful, dismissive, or unprofessional behavior by customer service representatives
- Failing to provide clear and detailed information on the cancellation process.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The objective was to get the origins and sources of the potential prospects that visit our website

  ### 5. Miss sold the platform and aggressive contract disputes.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The company tracking seemed good and they have pretty good coverage.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

We were miss sold a HubSpot integration during the sales process. When it turned out the integration wasn't what they said they refused to cancel the contract.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking companies who come to our website.

  ### 6. Bad data and very expensive tool. So many other better out there.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

There are not many good things with Lead Forensics. The UX is bad and the data that they provide is also very general. We worked with them for a year and didn't get one good lead from it.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

UX, pricing and the data. Basically everything. There are so many other good tools out there. You can get most of this data for free for example if you use Hubspot.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They say that they provide insightful data on potential customers coming to your website but the data that they provide is not good and just very general. 90% of the data is coming from network providers.

  ### 7. Super poor experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin G. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Lead Forensics captures company information of people visiting your website. Depending on the size of your business and the types of business you run, I believe this could range from mildly useful to totally useless.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

The software does what it says that it will, if you read the fine print. The main problem I have is the super high-pressure sales process and the overpromising. The information they provide to you is the exact same information you can find with a basic Google search - the only benefit being that you can identify those that are visiting your website. The problem arises when the majority of the people visiting your site are gigantic multiple-thousand-member organizations. Your ability to identify who it was that you need to talk to about your business goes right out the window and I find that it's really no better than a cold lead. Also, their onboarding process is minimal and mostly just focuses on putting leads into whatever database you have. Finally, the idea that they lock you into a year+ long commitment without being able to see the value in the product first (with absolutely no refund policy - they anticipate you regretting your decision) is super unfortunate. Any company that doesn't refund your money if you don't get the value is super slimy, in my opinion.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Do not allow yourself to be rushed through the sales process. For us this was a lesson in objectivity and ignoring the hype of their sales team.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had zero ROI from this purchase. It is the only investment we've made in the last 24 months that I can say that about.

  ### 8. Annoying and overpromising sales guys! Keeping unhappy users locked in and extort money!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

You can see some of the companies who visited your website,
but even that is limited as in the covid period people are working from home, so Lead Forensics cannot detect them as a business.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I feel like I was suckered into buying it.
The sales guys are annoying. They have scripts for every possible answer.
They just cornered me into buying the tool.
I wanted to check other tools on the market and evaluate, but they were just pressuring me like crazy.
So, I bought it in the end.

The tool was pretty much useless in our case.
We have another way of sourcing contacts that works much better.

We requested to cancel the contract after one month and pay for the time we used it,
but they wanted us to pay for 6 months ahead even if we did not want to use the tool.
They dragged on the cancelation request, and it is still being dragged on, as it is not possible to cancel it.
They handed it over to the debt collection agency to make us pay for 6 months ahead for something we do not want to use and we do not need.
It is unfair and shameful behavior.

Basically, it looks like money extortion!

Support people run on scripts and I feel like dealing with robots.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, the Lead Forensics sales team was stalking me until I bought it.
Now we get a list of companies who visited our website and pages they visited.
But that's not very effective to find the right contact and identify leads.

  ### 9. Bait and Switch - Save Your Money

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Seeing which companies visit our site and how they arrived is helpful. We're able to see which marketing tools are resonating with our prospects.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Should've read reviews here before purchasing. In line with others, the salesperson sold hard on the fact that we could use the Contact search widget to mine contacts from each organization who visits our website and send those leads to our CRM. He touted it as "better than ZoomInfo". Now we're in, and there are virtually zero contacts resulting in search queries that are our target persona, and when addressed with our account manager she said, "You should just use ZoomInfo with our tool" and downplays the importance of this feature. We also had to go back and forth to get "free credits" to access these useless contacts which were promised by the salesperson but then turned out to be an added cost feature. They need to get their sales team wrangled in to sell what's true.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Save your budget and just rely on Google Analytics combined with ZoomInfo or LinkedIn.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None yet - the shortcomings of the product are making it difficult to integrate with any process that's not totally manual, and wondering already if we'd be better served just manually combing through LinkedIn ourselves every day.

  ### 10. Subpar, Broken Product, Negligent Customer Service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Nothing. LF was passed long ago by superior, much more affordable solutions.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Everything. Primarily the fact that it only logs visits from corporate websites. Entirely incomplete and ineffective picture of website traffic.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Do not do business with this deceptive and predatory company.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm trying to track and contact potential clients, and LF has given me several new potential leads, as well as the info to act on them.

**Official Response from Martin Boyle:**

> Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with your experience with us. As your previous review was positive, I'd like to understand what has gone wrong for your opinion to change.

I'd really appreciate it if you would reach out to us at digital@leadforensics.com with your business name and phone number, and I'll have our customer success team investigate the details and see how we can best resolve this for you.

I'd like to help turn your experience with us into a positive one.

Thanks. Martin

  ### 11. Bait and switch on fees

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The software will provide information on website visitors.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Lead Forensics baits and then switches on pricing. After pricing is negotiated, Lead Forensics will demand payment for setup fees that were not previously disclosed. After the first year of service ends, they will require additional fees for subsequent years, without providing an option to cancel. A 4% price increase is built into their agreements, but there are other fee increases buried in the agreements that can be more significant. Proceed with caution, and do not expect them to be responsive once the deal is closed.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a software that could help us to understand who was on our website without filling out a webform.

  ### 12. Very overpirced, doesn't provided promised results

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larry W. | President, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The idea of being able to track down leads based on your website traffic sounds great.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I feel like I was "suckered" into buying this product. What they don't tell you is that while you can learn about visitors to your site in general, that the specifics are few and it is really up to you to try and figure out who to contact. For example, I was able to learn that a major university looked at my site. Now what?

As it turns out there are many other options that are much less expensive. $600 per month with a difficult to break year-long agreement. There are similar options available for $50 per month with no contract.

The other issues are that the salespeople seem to operate with a boiler room mentality of pushing very hard with great frequency. They run through a demo and once you buy you never hear from them again. There is a high turnover and if you find someone who can help you they may be gone soon, at least that was my experience.

I even asked to be released from the agreement because I was not able to make it work for me and was given a firm no.

It would seem that once they have you, you are stuck and that the help they give you really only makes you realize that you are never going to get what you thought you would when you sign up.

I strongly advise that you explore other alternatives before you commit to their long-term agreement. It appears that it not working for you is not a good enough reason to release you from the agreement.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The pitch is that if you can covert the info you get into deals it easily pays for itself. If that were true it would be worth it. But it doesn't really give you much in the way of the information you can use to identify leads. So I have not been able to solve converting web traffic info into identifiable leads. Zero benefits. A lot of wasted time.

Most of this info is available with Google Analytics, it's just repackaged.

  ### 13. DO NOT WASTE YOUR RESOURCES ON THEM

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The bold claim of getting you more lead from your website. This is just to get you on a demo call.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

They did not live upto the expectations that they had set before the demo call.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Could not even get it to work because of no customer support

  ### 14. Absolute Trash - Run.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John G. | Founder / CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The product looks great during sales...doesn't function.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Their sales team lies and oversells the product. They have no real API. They don't support their product and they are unprofessional.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None...they wasted my time and caused problems.

  ### 15. They get you to sign and then ghost completely

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The sales team is very nice and the service is good. They will answer your questions and be flexible about when to chat. Then when you are signed up they disappear!

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

We signed an agreement after going through several demos. After the contract was signed we were set up with a username and password WHICH DID NOT WORK! I emailed and called my rep 5 times AND NO ANSWER! NOTHING. Calls are picked up by a remote answering service. There is no one in the office and they will never call you back. They were supposed to sync with Zoho and that never happened either. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. It's a scam.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This was supposed to help our client find leads. You will see what companies have visited your website. If you know the title you are looking for Lead Forensics gives you their contact information. Sounds great, right? NOT. Your account won't work and no one will tell you why.

**Official Response from Stu Cook:**

> Hi, I’m very sorry to read that you’ve had a negative experience with Lead Forensics, this is certainly not the standard we set ourselves to. Please may I ask you to contact us at digital@leadforensics.com with your business name and phone number, and I will have our customer success team investigate the details and reach out to you to see how we can best resolve this matter for you. We are keen to turn your experience into a positive one and so would really appreciate you getting in touch with us directly so that we can put this right for you. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

  ### 16. Overcharged for 6 months and constantly lied to about a refund.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

It was straightforward to integrate. Avoid if you value honest customer service.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I was in contract for a year and spoke to an agent before my renewal date about cancellation. I had written confirmation that the contract was going to be terminated at the end of the first year as requested.

To my surprise, I found out they had been charging me for 6 months after the contract termination. At first, they were very helpful and said they should refund the 6 months as it was charged incorrectly. Nearly a year on I'm still waiting for the refund and every time I speak to them, I get lied to and fobbed off. I have been told multiple times it's 'With accounts to process' and a collection of other made-up scenarios.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Avoid if you value honest customer service.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

.

**Official Response from Stu Cook:**

> Hi, I’m sorry to read that you’ve had a negative experience with Lead Forensics, this certainly doesn't align with the values we set ourselves to. Please may I ask you to contact us at digital@leadforensics.com with your business name, and I will have our accounts team investigate the details and reach out to you. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

  ### 17. Inflexible and uncaring

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

I do like the company contact data, though it is only a hint as to who may be a prospect

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Badly disappointed in the low level of traffic that is matched to an organisation as a lead.
Only 10% of visits are translating back to matches in the Lead Forensics dashboard on a good day.

Asked to cancel my subscription after 18 months to find it had been auto-renewed for a full 12 months on anniversary. No flexibility from accounts or ‘relationship’ people who simply restate that contract is locked in for a full 2nd year.

Total disinterest from this company in being client or relationship focussed or recognising their product isn’t delivering the value promised.

Lesson learned, renewal cancelled and now just waiting out the remaining term and monthly charges whilst letting others know not to get trapped like I did.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lead Forensics is not working for me as a prospecting tool due to the low percentage of site visits converting to identifiable company matches.

  ### 18. Probably one of the worst services I have ever used

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | CEO and Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Communication until I heard nothing from any of their employees.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I have tried cancelling my subscription for the past 4 months and yet no one will reply to my emails or answer the phone.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Provide responsible support to your customers.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was trying to solve the potential lead problems we have with our site

**Official Response from Jade Kennedy:**

> Hi Andrew, I’m sorry to read that you’ve had a negative experience with Lead Forensics, this is certainly not the experience we would want you to have. Please may I ask you to contact us at digital@leadforensics.com with your business name, and I will have our customer success team investigate the details and reach out to you to see how we can best resolve this matter for you. We are keen to turn your experience into a positive one and so would really appreciate you getting in touch with us directly so that we can put this right for you. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards Jade Marketing Assistant, Lead Forensics

  ### 19. Useless after COVID

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | Founder, CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The User Interface is clean and simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Insane high cost and long contracts for a product that just doesn't work

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Avoid this, long expensive contracts for a product that doesn't work. Their accounting team gets confused with bills and tries to double charge you. Avoid avoid avoid.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None at all as the platform doesn't have the ability to detect business data from home IPs, the whole point of the software is to identify the businesses looking at your website, this product doesn't do this at this time.

  ### 20. Lost its value - would not recommend

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

It did a decent job of telling you which companies had visited your website, when people worked in offices.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I was previously a fan of Lead Forensics, having used it for almost two years. However, the value of the software has evaporated recently with a sizeable chunk people working from home (something which many expect to continue). To put some numbers to this, we had approximately 250-300 companies appear in Lead Forensics per month prior to Covid, and in July / August it is looking more like 50.

The line from Lead Forensics is that more and more businesses are getting their VPNs put in place, and that they expect this to increase (and I'm sure they will have some stats to back this up), but it is not going to return to the levels of Q1 2020. Will their price change? Well, they've not been happy to renegotiate with me (same price, yet lost 80% of it's value to us) so we've cancelled the agreement.

In addition to this, their communication has been terrible over the last few months. Our account manager replied to no emails between April and June, finally getting back to us saying that there had been an issue with their system (their invoices and emails from accounts team worked pretty well).

They are going to have to be far more flexible than they currently are being moving forward. I never really write reviews, but the way Lead Forensics have handled the last 4 months has left a bitter taste. They have certainly lost an advocate of their product due to their hard position they've taken and poor comms.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

I'd consider cheaper alternatives right now

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us understand if our outbound activity was being noticed - but only when the people noticing the outbound activity worked in offices.

  ### 21. Great Tech, Awful support/employees

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Their tech is really interesting. It is able to accurately determine the companies looking at your website which is invaluable to sales.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

The payments team will threaten to sue you if you don’t respond to the invoice immediately. As a busy guy, I missed the invoice and fourteen days later, they were already threatening court. Needless to say, I paid the bill and closed the account.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No longer solving anything with Lead Forensics. Lots of other companies offer a similar solution. I would go with those competitors if I were you.

  ### 22. Not particularly valuable, hear from the sales person once a year when it's renewal time

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The Trigger reports are fairly useful when you've conducted a sales campaign

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Limited in it's functionality, but for me, the company itself was the most disappointing. Everything seemed to cost more money and we had that classic experience of the sales person getting in touch at renewal time - trying to upsell and didn't listen to our requirements.......

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were hoping to gain further intel on website visitors. Whilst this did produce a report on 'which' company was visiting, the information was limited

**Official Response from Georgina Quinn:**

> Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your experience of Lead Forensics so far - our aim is for all of our customers to get maximum return from our solution, and so I really do hope that you can provide us with the opportunity to put this right for you. As we are unable to identify who you are within the platform, please could you email us directly at info@leadforensics.com, so that we can put you in touch with your dedicated account manager and work to resolve the issues you've mentioned in your review, as quickly as possible. Kind regards, Georgina

  ### 23. Outdated, poor customer success, over priced and terrible sales staff

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

I think Lead Forensics were good at the start (having used them for the first time almost 8-9 yrs ago) I feel Lead Forensics are outclassed now. I've been doing digital demand gen and lead generation for 20 years now, and was a big advocate for Lead Forensics having integrated/administrated and trained inbound sales teams since it's inception. It was greate in the early days of ABM projects working for a large global enterprise. However this latest experience shows me how unresponsive and worse still howl they treat their customers differently based on spend (not unusual) but they are very nickel and dime when it comes to customer success, and very voracious when it comes to sales/renewals.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

I've used Lead Forensics at multiple companies and now at an SMB, I can genuinely say their sales staff attitudes are drastically different and they are very underhanded. After several emails and phone calls to deal with acquisition and trying to merge accounts they have continued to take direct debits for and are refusing to credit or refund despite the original notification and the actual shuttering of the old website two weeks after our meeting. I'm not seeing a lot of innovation or disruption in this audience ID space by Lead Forensics - they've gotten to be the old dinosaur.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No huge benefits seen by the company in the last 4+ years - lack of customer success reach out is direct result and failure of embedding it within sales. Lead Forensics don't make any proactive attempts except upon renewal or if you proactively chase them when you have a problem.

  ### 24. Ask a few questions before you sign up.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Not a whole lot. Vry disappointing purchase.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

They fail to tell you you can't get information on people who visited from a cell phone or dynamic IP addresses. Only can't get old school static IP's

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would not purchase this ever again. I just bought out my contract as it just depresses me seeing it on my Visa bill every month.

  ### 25. Danny Devito type "Tin Man" sales push of a marginal product/service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John A. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The interface works but limited in setup config & filtering.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

So many things to list but....if your target customer is a major of mid-major corporation with multiple locations, save your time & money. Their IP address is registered at the HQ so you can't tell with regional location nor those employees are hitting your website. Sure, someone from XYZ Corp spend X minutes on your specific pages but I don't need these Lead F con-artists to figure out who has a specific job title at XYX Corp and how to get their email address or phone number. LOCKED IN TO LONG TERM CONTRACT BY DANNY DEVITO TYPES. Auto renewal, little contact from their hand holding phone staff who understand little about our needs. They push contracts & promise too much, deliver little.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Spend your $ elsewhere. Sure you see XYZ Corp looking at specific webpages, duration, date which can focus your efforts on content improvement. But, little supported means on identifying corporate employees. Heck, I can cold call targeted large corp clients in our target industry easier by using a few social media (free) and industry directories (free). Not as sexy but gets me in.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Darn little... It tells us someone from XYZ Corp is interested in a specific product or feature but only when they call us or email us are we able to determine which physical location of XYZ was hitting our site. Now if your website visitor has only one location and IP address is known, well it's going to work.

**Official Response from Simon Chivers:**

  ### 26. Worst Company, Worst Customer Service - Avoid at all costs

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Nothing. Data provided is useless, you have to pay even more to get contact info - and basically its never even accurate or the person who was really on your site.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Company morals and policies. Its run to force companies into long term AUTO RENEWING long term contracts. Refusal to cancel and threats of sending to collections when you ask to cancel. On top of everything, we have been a reseller of their product and still no respect for us. Our sales rep, Jackie Siegel, has been threatening versus trying to help us - actually STILL trying to sell us on the tool after asking to cancel multiple times. "I offered to take your contract from 12 months to 24 months. If you take the code off and refuse to pay, that is your choice. Finance will send the balance to collections for the remainder of the 24 month contract. Clause 9 of our contract states that “In no event shall termination of this Agreement for any reason relieve the Customer of the obligation to pay any fees payable to Lead Forensics for the period prior to the effective date of termination.” Also we are providing you with some great data to act upon. I an happy to do some trainings and discuss best practices so we can ensure you receive value out of the tool for the remainder of your contract."

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

DONT. They will never let you out of your contract.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none.

  ### 27. Lead Forensics is a bare bones product that gives sales teams almost nothing for a high price

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The visuals of the website look nice....

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Almost everything. The feature to classify people who visit your website doesn't work well. The Latest Visits tab is loaded down with generic classifications of locations because if your customer or potential leads are using a server that is not housed locally it will show generic state department type visits. The report feature does nothing. There is no way to see who actually visited your website from an organization.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

  ### 28. Fine for a reverse IP lookup tool, but better products for same price

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah H. | North American Marketing Manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The tool does what it says - it looks up the IP addresses of your website visitors and identifies the companies.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

The price is steep considering that they have no mechanism in place to identify individual visitors. Being locked into an annual contract is obnoxious as well.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While Lead Forensics was a good first step for us before our contract even ended we were ready to switch to another tool that could identify individual visitors and provide us a better user interface and intelligence.

  ### 29. Slow, Rarely Updated, Poor Interface, and Can't Customize

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

It tracks some visitors to our website and reports what company about half of them are associated with. Or who the visitors ISP is.

Honestly, the data isn't reliable because there are far too many flaws, so we rarely, if ever, use this information.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Where to start...

1. The platform is horribly slow
2. It's not scalable.
3. The data is unreliable and incomplete
4. Half of my support tickets have been resolved. Half.
5. The ability to filter is very limited.
6. The user interface isn't intuitive (they're a UK company, so there's a language barrier, too)
7. Automating the tagging of URLs is restrictive & unreliable
8. Can't create custom referral sources

... and I could go on. It is an attempt at a money grab. They force you into a long-term contract and then leave you high-and-dry. I haven't heard from my account manager in ~6 months.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Evaluate the alternatives. Especially if you're looking for the platform to integrate another platform.

LeadForensics doesn't integrate with anything except for a hacked together plugin for Salesforce. Snitcher, Leady, or like I mention above, Datanyze, Clearbit have enterprise options.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're trying to use Lead Forensics as the first step in our digital prospecting efforts. We haven't realized any benefits. In fact, it's been an unnecessary expense for our department and set our MarTech strategy back. Onboarding was laborious and slowed us down only to have the software fall flat.

Datanyze, Clearbit, and other companies have far superior products for marginally more. Use one of them.

  ### 30. Worst marketing investment ever

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas M. | Chief Marketing Officer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The onboarding process is the only thing that went well. Unfortunately for us it was not the most important part to leverage ROI.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

- unreliable data. it makes the tool useless basically. our campaigns bounced 60% of the time (my stats for 9 months of un-interrupted use)
- poor matching rate between the websites visitors and their database. Our traffic mostly comes from the US, where they have supposedly the best match
- false promises. the sales guys shows you a nice Excel file to have you signed the contract. DO NOT TRUST ANY DATA in it: not the matching rate of the db, not their accurate data pitch etc.
- customer success. should be renamed customer failure. After the 4th month we asked for more customer success so we got a "dedicated" CS specialist. The guy promised t us an automated system with filters and delivery everyday. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. After 3 weeks CS stopped replying to our follow-up emails (that we sent because we got nothing). We reached out to the accounting dept (the only team that was getting back to us), and they try to follow up with the CS ... nothing happened.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Don't sign with them - the customer support won't help after they fail to deliver what they promised.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. It was intended to identify our corporate website's visitors and contact them by email so they can book a demo. Not a single demo was booked after 9 months of use.

  ### 31. Extremely Expensive, No ROI and Doesn't monitor mobile traffic

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Their sales pitch was brilliant, they hooked me in with promises of great ROI based on the data they could provide around the companies that visited our website

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

We didn't receive training for the first 3 months, this then lasted 3 months only and this is when they flagged up that we couldn't see which clients were visiting us via their mobile. Most of the clients we have view our website through their phone so we just were not capturing all visitors and missing out on a vital and large number of companies. In addition, if you have large global companies visiting your website then its a minefield as to who could be trying to contact you, we found it impossible to track the right people down.

I have been hugely disappointed with the company - its been an utter waste of money. Spend your money on Google Ads!

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to get a better sense of who was interested in our company so that we could be quick to react to their needs. We have realised no benefit from using Lead Forensics

  ### 32. Terrible Client Service, Not following through on promises to upgrade or fix problems

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave M. | Principal, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Nothing at all

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Everything, especially the client service of the company. Made claims on a contract that were not in the contract, then tried to force us to stay citing that we would be assessed with a penalty of 80% of your yearly costs if we vacated the contract.

Also, the contract is renewed without a new signature for each year of renewal.

Promises they made on reporting data never were fixed, even though they were addressed many times over.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Look elsewhere

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing

  ### 33. Aweful experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Packaging and Containers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Cannot say we liked anything about the product.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

The service did not generate one single lead - the information that was provided was very generic and was not helpful. the salesman made promises that were not possible - claimed all conversations were recorded, but when ask to replay the conversation to back up what was said - apparently the recording was lost - total scam!!! Beware!!!

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Do not use - buyer beware - do not sign there contract - they will tie you the automatic renew clause.....garbage

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were attempting to find interest in our company through website

**Official Response from Simon Chivers:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. We would like to investigate this further internally to ensure all of our processes we're met. Are you able to email me your Business name and email address to digital@leadforensics.com then we can look into this further.

We have thousands of happy customers who use our software very successfully, we pride ourselves on having the best data and invest heavily in this area.

We hope to hear from you soon,

Kind regards
Simon

  ### 34. Beware. Bad customer service. No ROI. Very expensive.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The use of the product, the implementation was simple. But beyond that, there was no ROI with this service.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Before our very expensive 2-year contract ended (actually after the first year) we told them we would not be renewing our contract. We also spoke to them the next year and again told them we would not be renewing. Then a month after the 2-year contract ended they threatened us with collections and informed us that we would have needed to notify them in writing, "on letterhead." Of course, they didn't mention that this was in the fine print of their lengthy contract when we twice told them we were not renewing! They said it didn't matter that we told them we would not be renewing. So, if you use them, be warned. They are a terrible company to do business with, no integrity, and they don't care about their relationships. No ROI, but lots of promises. Read the fine print. Buyer beware.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Select another vendor!

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We received no benefits, even after two years.

  ### 35. RUN AWAY...FAST!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

That my contract expires this year. While it's simple to use, it's value is zero. 6 months in and NO ROI.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Despite having hundreds of visits a month, LF picks up less that 10% of visits. It's expensive and doesn't deliver the value they claim.

Watch out that they screw you 3% for CC transactions. Yes, that, and the tax addition (neither of which were mentioned by the sales person) ARE in the contract, so it should be my job to read it properly. However, with e-sign contracts there is the tendency to use the quick jump links to go to the next signature. Funnily enough, NONE of those land next to the tax or 3% CC charge.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Spend your money elsewhere.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing but it doesn't work.

  ### 36. -- Waste of Money --

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

The concept is a good idea in theory

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

It tracks only major corporations

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Bad Product
The software concept is great, after speaking with the sales dept I advised them and discussed our very unique business. He advised me they can track majority of all traffic to our site small and large businesses. This is far from true! Majority of the sites that are tracked are huge corporations and its impossible to find who was on your site when calling them back. I call LEAD FORENSICS and spoke to my sales guy multiple times and discussed again that I thought you are able to track smaller business which is our market. I explained this is not what we were told and as a start up $650 a month is a lot considering the software is useless. They told me they would not let me out of the contract... THIS SOFTWARE IS USELESS ..

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

  ### 37. Small Businesses Should Avoid Lead Forensics

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee S. | Labelling Solutions Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

As a small business seeking to increase its customer base Lead Forensics does a very good sales job of convincing you their solution will provide you with the success you need. Don't believe the pitch.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

We very naively took signed up for a Lead Forensic contract before realising that actually what we needed was more traffic and not information about the very small amount of visitors we receive via our site.
At the time of signing up we were looking for ways to improve lead generation and a CRM. We were advised that the CRM part was in development but it never materialised into a solution we could use. The sales pitch is all about landing that one big client that will justify the expense of the solution but if you don't have a lot of traffic in the first place how are you going to get a return on investment. After explaining to the CS team that after 8 months we haven't even used the system once, all they offered was a buy out of contract option, asking for £600+ upfront payment to end the contract.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our small business the Lead Forensics solution has highlighted that we need to concentrate on generating more traffic and not looking at details of the very small quantity of visitors we receive.
To conclude Lead Forensics will not release you from your contract even if you don't use their system without without getting their money from you first. Our advice would be to save your money and spend it on marketing.

  ### 38. It's what they do not tell you

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian F. | Chief Executive Officer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

They do provide a system to help you convert anyone that they identify looking at your website. It is important for them to do this, to add value to your monthly cost. Their sales system is good and works.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

We pay £200 a month for a 2 year contract, which would be fine if they identified visitors to our site in any great numbers. The thing is that is does not, in fact less than 5% of visitors who visited our site where shown on their reports. And over 50% of these where from universities or large companies where it was frankly impossible to find the viewer. We also had top pay extra for more details on each of these companies, which seemed a bit rich. In the first 6 months we have not spoken to one visitor of our website identified by Lead Forensics. All of our new clients obviously looked at our website, but none were identified by lead forensics as being visitors.

And what they do not explain in the sale pitch is that they cannot provide data from the majority of visitors to your website, which for us is the point.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Do not use this service unless you can compare the info to other similar companies and Google analytics. Do not be concerned with the ROI as much as Lead Forensics sales are, ensure you get exactly what you need and the companies searching will be displayed.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far we have just spent money on their service and a cold calling team with no results.

  ### 39. A Terrible Experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2017

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

There is nothing I like about this software nor the exorbitant fees charged for zero results!

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Their account manager, Bethan Jones, doesn't listen and you end up repeating things over and over. She is a robot - do the four step process and you'll get results is all she can trot out. We did the four step process many times and it never worked. When we asked to cancel the contract she stated that we had to see the contract through to the end. Terrible, terrible person and company.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Avoid at all costs

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was supposed to identify leads for us. Even following their four step process this doesn't work. There has been a negative benefit to the business because we've wasted time, effort and money on the software. It is the worst investment in software I have made in my 30 year career and I regret deeply getting involved with such a bunch of cowboys.

  ### 40. Very Disappointed

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Founder and CEO, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

I think if you are targeting very small companies, there are some good benefits to their system, and I do believe in the approach. The problem is in their honesty.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Plain and simple... they did not deliver what was promised. I was not born yesterday and have run 4 companies, so I do not take it lightly when I was sold by someone who knew my company was not the right kind of client for them.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

There is value here, but they completely misrepresented themselves to me and when I called them on it, it has been like fighting telecom customer service in the late 90s. I guess they are struggling tooth and nail for every dollar, or otherwise I don't honestly know what advantage they seek from treating their customers the way they do. Feel a bit scam-ish to me.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I hoped a lot, but in reality... none.

  ### 41. Avoid Lead Forensics like the plague, complete ripoff

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Nothing really, it's a basic platform that does nothing more than Google Analytics, for about a gazillion times the cost.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Aggressive and deceitful sales tactics duped my boss into a year contract at $336/mo for something we didn't need nor want. Sales manager even lied about the legality of being bound to the contract and we ended up paying despite repeatedly trying to cancel.

The service itself is near worthless. Identifying the company of a visitor has very little value without a contact. But they tell you they have contacts covered, right? Wrong. They charge something like ten buck for useless LinkedIn contacts you can find yourself.

The analytics are the same you get on any free platform like Google Analytics.

Complete ripoff, complete scam artists.

**Recommendations to others considering Lead Forensics:**

Avoid, it's a ripoff, and they WILL try to lock you in for years and lie about the legality of the contract.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

  ### 42. WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2017

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Absolutely nothing. They lie, cheat and have the worst customer service.

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

Everything. They lie. They don't stop calling you until you sign up. They don't allow you to terminate your contract and when they finally do, they will bill you for the termination TWICE! Yup, that's right. They charged me over the invoice amount the first time and then had the audacity to charge me again the following month for the same amount!

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are no benefits from this company. All they do s create more problems.

  ### 43. What a huge disappointment. There are alternative providers.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2016

**What do you like best about Lead Forensics?**

Absolutely nothing, the service is appalling and the product is flawed

**What do you dislike about Lead Forensics?**

What a huge disappointment. Trial was misleading and we're now tied into a 15 month contract. We haven't been able to engage with one genuine prospect seeking our services, and certainly no clients have come from this. It took Lead Forensics 3 minutes to respond to our request to engage their services, yet near 3 months to respond to our complaint. There are alternative providers.

**What problems is Lead Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No benefits whatsoever
