## About LaunchDarkly
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Oakland, California, LaunchDarkly serves over thousands of enterprises, including a quarter of the Fortune 500. LaunchDarkly is the runtime control platform for the AI era, trusted by software teams to control AI-generated code and AI agents in production at any scale. The LaunchDarkly platform delivers runtime control through two solutions: CodeControl and AgentControl. CodeControl helps teams ship AI-generated code confidently. With CodeControl, teams can observe production behavior, make changes in real time, and limit exposure based on actual impact. Through a combination of industry-leading feature flags, progressive rollouts, real-time observability, experimentation, and automatic recovery, LaunchDarkly gives organizations the ability to move at AI speed without giving up control. AgentControl helps teams keep AI agents in check in production, blocking bad behavior and steering responses in real time. Teams can configure prompts and models before launch, monitor and observe live performance and behavior, and automatically take action—without redeploying. When agents make curious decisions, or when small prompt or model changes cause big issues, AgentControl detects and corrects them as they happen. With runtime control across code and agents, LaunchDarkly helps enable teams to ship AI-built software with confidence, govern agent behavior in production, optimize AI performance and cost, build self-healing systems, and experiment continuously. The result is faster release velocity, lower production risk, and the ability to continuously adapt software and AI systems without slowing down to stay safer.

## LaunchDarkly Reviews
  ### 1. Ease of usability and more power to product owners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kunal M. | Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The best functionality is that we get the control over the features and with a single click experience can be toggled on & off.
Very easy to integrate with any application.
Very intuitive UI.
Customer support is excellent as we get multiple updates within a month.
It is very frequently used in our application for toggling UI components.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

There should be a flag which can enable the same functinality for a certain flag in all the environments (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD).

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very frequently used in our application for toggling UI components aka feature management.

  ### 2. A different way to work with, but it's been incredible and useful. Customer support is excellent.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo S. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Customer support is incredible. The FAQ section as well is really good.
For updates on the lib, it's clear as crystal what I need to update and code examples from the tutorial.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Haven't got any problems so far. I think what bugs me most is pushing code that is not ready, but protected by a feature flag.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For new releases on production for our website, we can disable if something goes bad. Also early access to some clients or even different pages and functionalities for the current plan for the user. So we can sell different functionalities depending on what the client needs. Very useful.

  ### 3. Best tool to control feature releases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omer Y. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The UX of launch darkly is quite simple, which makes it really easy to use

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The recent addition of predefined flags, I'd rather use them all as custom flags

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to control when to release a feature, and also prevent new bugs from happening. If there's a bug, I can turn off the flag immediately.

  ### 4. Experimentation and feature flags made simple

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The user interface of LaunchDarkly is sleek. It is easy to switch between different environments and configure experiments or feature flags to only show the test variant to a select subset of users.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Overall, no major negatives. Only thing would be that if you approve changes as a reviewer, the owner still has to apply those changes before they get published which has caused a bit of confusion in the past since there is an extra step involved.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows my team to run experiments and gate features so that we can limit new features to select user cohorts

  ### 5. An overall good utility to setup feature flags in a new firm or project

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

ld-proxy that aggregates requests & caches flag values locally, saving tons of round trips and is very easy to setup, usage history, flexible values using json.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Annoying to change flags across environments (we have quite a few of them), even in the new beta view. No ability to fall back to "code defaults", as I must always define _some_ default which is always taken instaed of what's defined in code.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly gradual rollout of features

  ### 6. Very effective A/B testing and feature flag management tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Performance and ease of use.
Its very performant (at least in browser context) and despite the large number of requests it soemtimes sends, there doesn't seem to be a noticeable performance degregation.

When it comes to management via the web dashboard, its intuitive to use even with multiple environments and numerous flags.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Programmatically integrating with the SDK feels cumbersome and not up to par with best-in-industry tools, at least taking their official documentation into consideration.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of feature flags and A/B testing in scale with large amount of users in a very large organization.

  ### 7. Great experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

1. Easy to integrate and implement.
2. Very useful in deployments.
3. Works effectively .
4. Does exactly what is needs to do.
5. Used in every deployment.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Might be good to have some more values other than true and false.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

made deployement easy and we can stop the services prior to deployment.

  ### 8. Good product all around

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It's packed with features and covers all of our needs so far, including more complex ones.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Their UI is a bit clanky. The day-to-day operations require multiple clicks and screens, yet more complex stuff are a single click away.

Their JS SDK could also use an improvement. It works great, but requires a couple of levels of abstraction to get any actual production-ready material code out of it.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're doing gradual rollout of features all the time, as well as block features behind feature flags.
LaunchDarkly allows us to do all that.

  ### 9. It was really good to go away from configs and real time value updates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayush P. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Low latency for any value and really fast updates

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Recently faced the donwtime with launchdarkly

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Frequently change the configs without redeploying the services

  ### 10. A solid tool that has helped simplify flag management for us

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I like that we can have array flags so that we can push IDs into it to deploy functionality to specific customers. Also, the Go SDK makes integration a breeze.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

It would be nice if the SDK allowed for default configs so that we don't have to wrap our LD provider to handle situations where we fail a call to LD.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The two main things we use LD for are managing our feature flags and doing staged rollouts to specific user cohorts. LD shines in both cases and has simplified our workflows here.

  ### 11. Great solution for managing releases of individual features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yogesh M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Ease of Use, Smooth integration with code that relies on Feature Flags, Simplistic UI to do things in the software

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Sometimes documentation is not easily accessible and it would be great if the documentation is readily available while using the feature

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Releasing features to a limited set of users is so easy. This helps immensely in gathering feedback.

  ### 12. LaunchDarkly is a very handy tool for feature flagging and experimantation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

1. Easy to create feature flags in different environments
2. The feature flags can be configured differently in each environment
3. Segment is very useful
4. SDK is easy to use
5. Performance is exellent.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

1. At the beginning, the relationship between projects and roles was unclear.
2. Cannot filter contexts/users by the evaluation results.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Running A/B testing to find the better solution to improve user expierence
2. Building new features behind a feature flag, so we can still merge code to main branch and deploy to production without impact on customers.

  ### 13. Best feature flag product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The ability to toggle features in different environments

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

None, everything is just fine and awesome

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We turn on/off various features on Hotstar

  ### 14. LaunchDarkly is a great feature driven development version control tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hafeez A. | Software Engineer 2, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is the most used tool when working with multi level feature changes. The feature flag creation is one of the primary feature of launch darkly which is widely used in our projects. Implementaion is great with this tool when working on mutliple changes in one feature, it helps to save much time and leads you to the smooth develoment.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing I dislike about the launch darkly. But when we create a feature flags individually, its difficult to deploy the code in production environment. So the common feature flag with the collobrative environment when the team is working on the same code branch and with much more security feature would he great helful.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly has much more advantages and it is benifiting many users in our team. It helps you to work on one single code base branch instaed of handling many with help of feature flag creation. By creating and integrating the launch darkly, it help to keep track of changes and monitorseach and every changes in the new code written, compares with old version and renders conditionally. Hence it increases productivity and saves time to work effectively.

  ### 15. Great tool for enabling features on production on the fly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danyal I. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easy to navigate user interface
Quickly able to rollback features if production issues are found

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

API docs can be developer friendly
Sometimes can be difficut to test in the code base. Mocks included in SDKs can make it easier to test

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to rollback new features when production issues are found

  ### 16. Amazing product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

An amazing product with lots of functionality and features. It's easy to use, friendly, and the live updated are an amazing added bonus. We use this product a lot.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing really, don't hesitate to switch.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Releasing features gradualy without risks. Great control on who sees the feature and who's not.

  ### 17. LaunchDarkly is a convenient way to manage feature flags

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is useful for enabling seamless feature rollouts and risk mitigation. Its feature flagging system allows for controlled deployments, environment-specific flags ensure thorough testing, and user segmentation enhances personalized feature delivery. The platform's real-time feature management capabilities are particularly beneficial for dynamic services.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly's challenges include the complexity of managing an increasing number of feature flags, potentially high overhead costs, and a steep learning curve for teams new to feature flagging. Dependence on this external service introduces a risk of external failures. Moreover, accumulating feature flag debt can lead to cluttered codebases, especially given that my company uses multiple different feature flag systems.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly is a simple and easy UI for managing feature flags and creating safe rollouts.

  ### 18. Release != Launch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Buffy V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Launch Darkly adoption has been critical in our org's ability to decouple release from launch as we inch closer to CI/CD. By slowly, safely, and iteratively introducing our new user experiences to customers we can immediately get feedback, roll back if needed before a large % of user base is impacted, leverage A/B experiments and more.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

It would be great if there was an easier way to clean up old Feature Flags

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing in producion, getting user feedback early and often, and limiting the blast radius if there are issues

  ### 19. It quickly helps to enable the certain features based on the feature flags which is great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

We mainly use it for feature flags fo enable certain features on the relevant services.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing at the moment as most of the features that i have used are great.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its solving major problem where we have to enable certain features on specific services at relevant time and with launch darkly its helping a lot.

  ### 20. LaunchDarkly is a great product, have been using it for the past few years.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mor K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Ease of use, ease of integration, nice UI.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Context view is a bit too complex, the query control is a bit too complex.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We leverage CD in our product, so when we push new code to production, we need to make sure they are behind feature-flag. LaunchDarkly is perfectly suited for that purpose.

  ### 21. LaunchDarkly is out of this world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arandu H. | Associate Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly has made it possible to test new features in our testing environments for some people without affecting other people who are testing unrelated features!

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

So far my company has been limited in how many people can interact with LaunchDarkly directly but they are working on that soon!

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When using new microservices to replace backend legacy code, sometimes not everything goes as planned and we can quickly go back to the tried and true legacy code on the fly!

  ### 22. Great features but can be tough to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easy to create new flags to maintain our services

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Search is really bad, and sometimes its confusing

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature managemetn

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> We appreciate your feedback. It's great to know that our feature management is solving problems for you. We understand the challenges with the search function and we are committed to making improvements to enhance your experience.

  ### 23. Toggling made easy without redeployment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishwa R. | Senior Associate Platform, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The best thing that I love about LaunchDarkly is that it empowers developers and stakeholders to apply changes to their application without moving it to maintainance phase.

Ex: You can have an application which runs trading of commodities, and if you want to disable it for certain users the you just go to your LaunchDarkly console page and just toggle the feature to off. As soon as you do it, it will be turned off for users. Now you can enhance the feature and then after enhancement you just need to enable the toggle. Thats it.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing as of. The price was bit high. We used it for 5 months.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toggling feature is feature that we utilised along with permit.io

  ### 24. LaunchDarkly is the tool for anyone serious about feature management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It's a one-stop shop for all things related to feature management: feature toggling, experiments, rollout strategies, ... It's all there and all very simple to use.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Searching for contexts, I find the filter option and its specific language a bit tricky and I always need a few tries to find what I want.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to have:
- release trains on mobile, so that we can ship every week
- progressive rollouts of features
- graceful degradation
- kill-switches
- experiments, A/B testing

Overall, LaunchDarkly has changed the way we approach software. We're more relaxed about shipping because we know everything can be behind a toggle, released progressively. It allows us to try things, show versions to a small cohort of users and get feedback early, ...

  ### 25. Awesome experience using LaunchDarkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I was able to progressively release my feature involving multiple feature flags both at frontend & backend in a single go. This gave me a lot of confidence and a peace of mind.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Overall good experience so far. Have no complaints as such.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Controlling the release of my features on a need basis.

  ### 26. It is good platform to maintain the features at one place when multiple assets are involved

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The acapbility of turning off or on entire feature at a time.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing in particular. It does the work well.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the problem of maintaining the features at one place, earlier it was scattered and difficult to maintain and cordinate. Now as it is at a single place it is easy to maintain.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> We're glad to hear that you find LaunchDarkly helpful in maintaining features in one place and easily coordinating multiple assets. Thank you for sharing your positive experience!

  ### 27. I'm using LD for couple of month in my daily work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

easy to use, user get the cnahges instantly.
as a developer, it reduce my time, because the product can change the feature toggles without me.
the rules are awsome! we are using them a lot, for users, regions specific and more...

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

maybe some best practices documentation.
for example, we are not sure if to create 2 feature toggles for the FE and BE, or to create one for both.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we want to allow only some companies to use specific feature + specific region...

  ### 28. LaunchDarkly: An Easy To Use Tool for Managing Feature Flags

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is very easy to use; the UI is very intuitive, making it easy to configure different flags for our applications. I especially like the Variations section.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I'm not a fan of how rules are set based off of order (i.e., if I'm creating a new rule for "cluster A" to set a value to true, but there was a separate rule that sets "cluster A, B, C" to false after, it would set the value to false).

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly helps us manage our feature flags.

  ### 29. Very satisfying and useful tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Senior Technical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I have used LaunchDarkly to implement both feature flags and A/B tests for web applications, and have found it very satisfactory and trouble-free. It was extremely easy to integrate with the LaunchDarkly API from our server-side code, and the dashboard for setting up and managing flags and tests was very easy to use.

Very happy with the functionality around adding custom info and identifiers to our users so they can be consistently bucketed.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

No complaints I can think of, everything I have needed to do has been smooth.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature flagging of new features - this allows us to safely roll out new features to a subset of users, and switch them off if there appear to be issues.

A/B testing is something that our product team are extremely keen on - we constantly have multiple A/B tests running, managed by LaunchDarkly.

  ### 30. Helps a lot

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar Fernando Z. | Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

You can work in a feature hidden behind a flag for an entire week or month, push the code changes/additions to Production, it won't be available, not until you turn the flag ON, changes are accessible right at the moment.

If something went wrong, you can still rollback the feature (or hide it) just by turning it back to OFF.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Works just fine, don't have any issues at the moment

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to safely launch your code and features to production, main benefit is that you could rollback at any moment.

  ### 31. LauchDarkly is a must needed tool for product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The interface is very easy to use.
And the seemless integration with app

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

None of it at this moment. All the thing which i am using is good

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature management is one of the best

  ### 32. Easy, risk minimizing way, to test feature releases

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I like how LaunchDarkly makes it easy to toggle features on and off. It is nice that you can target a percentage or regions. We use it all the time to protect feature releases in production. It works for us because our product has high risk so we cannot afford to do rollbacks of the deployed version. It is easy to implement and integret into the app with each new feature.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I dislike that it can be tircky to set up customed targetting.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product has high risk involved because it is health care. Sometimes we cannot test things in the dev env. With the targetting it is easy to target a test account in production in order to get these features tested.

  ### 33. Overall a great tool for rollouts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The UI is easy to use
Good features: percentage rollout, multiple flag states, easy interface in code, and performance seems good (flag get calls are handled at high volume well)

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Some nits about usability: editing/adding approvers for a flag change proposal, inability to edit flag names (though this may be by design)

Onboarding was a little confusing at first since there are so many options

Sometimes, it is too easy to use, and we fall into the anti-pattern of using LD flags as configuration.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use LD to more finely control features so we can launch them to customers in a controlled manner. It also allows us to quickly revert bad launches vs redeploying.

  ### 34. Very easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Using feature flags in our product used to be a hassle to deal with until we started using LaunchDarkly. Now we're able to quickly turn on and off our feature flags, as well as use any custom rules we want. It's simple to set up and helps us gate new features.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Some settings can be confusing sometimes, and it can be difficult to find where the requests are located. Otherwise everything has been great.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us gate new features so that we can turn them on when we're ready

  ### 35. Decent Infra as a service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Makes flag management easy.
Makes it easy to debug and resolve in case a feature cause outage.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I would say UI can be better. Approval workflow can be confusing (not sure if that is exatly a LaunchDarkly issue or issue at my company).

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature launch and management

  ### 36. Simple and effective tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly has made controlled feature releases easy. It is our default tool to use for releases, and making rules and segments of users is intuitive. I love the feature to compare flag differences between environments.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

When looking at contexts in LaunchDarkly, I couldn't find any documentation on the difference between LDRelay source vs JSClient.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Targeting individual users and segments of users based on specific properties. This makes feature releases targeted and easy to control and turn off if necessary.

  ### 37. LaunchDarkly: an awesome tool for running experiments

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is great for experimentation. It has helpful features like waterfall rules which allow you to carefully define groups for testing and create allowlists for who can see a given feature. It has options to target segments, individuals, mobile vs desktop, or build a custom rule

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Saving your changes can be a bit unituitive, when you request a review and someone approves a LD flag change, the change does not go into effect immediately, rather you have to apply the change. It would be nice to have functionality to be able to setup a review so that an approval of changes automatically applies those changes

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly enables us to run A/B tests on new product launches

  ### 38. Must tool for any Software Engineer / Product manager

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The intuitiveness of the features and the granularity of the level with which we can customize our feature flags

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Probably price. It's a bit costly but it is worth it definitely for safely launching new features

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly helps me safely deploy and rollout my features across different environments and regions

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> We're glad to hear that you find LaunchDarkly intuitive and customizable for your feature flags. We understand that pricing is a concern, but we believe the value and safety it provides for launching new features make it worth the investment.

  ### 39. Good Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

* Easy to use
* Easy to integrate
* Handles scale well

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

* Insights shows only the flag evaluations based on pure values, it would be great if it were to show how much evaluations based on flag rules.
* Don't like the UI and new terminilogoies (kill switch, etc.), I prefer the old UI where it was just a simple rule builder.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Enabling features
* Adjusting values to evaluate (numeral / strings).

  ### 40. 10/10 would recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Creating, managing, and using feature flags in Launch Darkly is incredibly easy. We've also had zero issues with reliability/availability. One of my favorite aspects of LD is the ability to target specific users

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The downside is just that it can be easy to forget about feature flags that you've set up. The filtering/tagging features make this easier though

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to coordinate the launch of features with stakeholders. LD makes it easy for us to deploy a new feature behind a flag and turn on whenever we're ready.

Additionally, when a new feature is considered "risky," we put it behind a feature flag until it's been proven so out so that we can disable it quickly.

  ### 41. Review for Launch Darkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The ease of use and reliability along with the ease on integration and the ability to ship code in safer manner.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

It can sometime affect performance so have to be careful how you set it up.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to release code in a safe manner with minimum impact to customers.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> We're glad to hear that you find LaunchDarkly easy to use and reliable, and that it helps you ship code in a safer manner.

  ### 42. Working with launchdarkly for featureflag work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

the ease of turning on and off feature flags and easy implementation

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

There isn't much that i don't like about it

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's making it easy for testing purposes to be able to use feature flags and not have to go directly into the code to change it every time

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> It's great to hear that LaunchDarkly is making testing easier for you by allowing you to use feature flags without having to change the code directly each time.

  ### 43. Easy to hit the ground running feature flag and configuration SaaS tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kory P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

In both a personal and professional capacity LD has been easy to integrate with. Their SDKs are plug'n'play.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Using launch darkly for configuration can be a bit tedious especially when dealing with JSON variations. Navigating around the JSON input does not feel natural, and the review box (diff tool) does not hightlight field changes very well, if at all.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature flagging and configuration management. Config management means less engineer input into certain features when other stakeholders in the business can own the config.

  ### 44. Great UI and powerful functions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It's a powerful tool to modify configurations in different environments with feature flags. The UI is clean and easy to use and the customer support is helpful too.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

It's not so easy to filter out unused flags and some flags marked to be "ready to archive" are sometimes prerequisite of other flags, thus cannot be archived. Also need to show the number of results after applying filters in Flag health panel.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The configuration change can be easily applied with LD.

  ### 45. Good Feature Flagging System

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

How easy the platform is to use, how easy it was to train the team + implement/integrate

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I'd prefer a more robust experimentation platform - LD's experiments are great but cannot do what a more full-featured tool can do.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to roll out more targeted smaller releases to cohorts

  ### 46. Experience with LaunchDarkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Its to collate all the feature flags at a single place & then control them in a single go. Also, easy to add custom checks & balances.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

There's nothing which I dislike about the product.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me in defining & keeping all my features at a single place.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with LaunchDarkly. We're happy to hear that it's meeting your needs effectively.

  ### 47. Valuable features to adjust dynamic config

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I think Ease of Use and Implementation is the best.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I don't have any opinion for this question.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have various features to provide depending on user and app version.
To manage one by one, we should have a mangement tool, and we use LaunchDarkly

  ### 48. LaunchDarkly is essential for any QA department.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly flags are a key part in testing and controlled role out of features.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The only difficulty I've experienced with LaunchDarkly is the learning curve. As someone with no coding experience navigation was difficult, but working with the program for a few days will give you the fundamentals.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Certain accounts need access to a feature in production, without every user being able to interact/view the feature. Turning LD flags off/on in near instantanous, very helpful in QA testing.

  ### 49. Generally reliable, scalable controls, and support has been great

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easy to set up new flags, and integrate with provided SDK

Scalable management of controls using segments and plenty of useful features for management of long-running vs temporary flags

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Sometimes hard to diagnose when LD flag service has gone down or is faulty, with provided SDK, and we've often only discovered an issue when the SDK started serving the default flags (which have often been not well thought-out placeholder values, leading to undesirable experiences for customers)

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of the above?

  ### 50. Robust and user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

PMs, QA, and engineers alike can easily navigate the UI. I also like that we can do controlled releases by percentage and easily roll back if needed.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Our mobile client continuously has problems with evaluating feature flag values which I believe is due to network connectivity. This is frustrating because the flag may be evaluated as false even though it should be true.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team is able to deliver features in a controlled way with feature flags, instead of relying on aligning deployments with marketing releases.
