## About LaunchDarkly
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Oakland, California, LaunchDarkly serves over thousands of enterprises, including a quarter of the Fortune 500. LaunchDarkly is the runtime control platform for the AI era, trusted by software teams to control AI-generated code and AI agents in production at any scale. The LaunchDarkly platform delivers runtime control through two solutions: CodeControl and AgentControl. CodeControl helps teams ship AI-generated code confidently. With CodeControl, teams can observe production behavior, make changes in real time, and limit exposure based on actual impact. Through a combination of industry-leading feature flags, progressive rollouts, real-time observability, experimentation, and automatic recovery, LaunchDarkly gives organizations the ability to move at AI speed without giving up control. AgentControl helps teams keep AI agents in check in production, blocking bad behavior and steering responses in real time. Teams can configure prompts and models before launch, monitor and observe live performance and behavior, and automatically take action—without redeploying. When agents make curious decisions, or when small prompt or model changes cause big issues, AgentControl detects and corrects them as they happen. With runtime control across code and agents, LaunchDarkly helps enable teams to ship AI-built software with confidence, govern agent behavior in production, optimize AI performance and cost, build self-healing systems, and experiment continuously. The result is faster release velocity, lower production risk, and the ability to continuously adapt software and AI systems without slowing down to stay safer.

## LaunchDarkly Reviews
  ### 1. Successfully controlled multiple FFs in my app

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

easy to use - just create FF and swith targeting + possibility to use precise targeting with rules usage.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Stale flag state after 90 days not always enough to rollout the feature.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily rollout new features without any fear of failure as I can killswitch any feature with just one button

  ### 2. Great feature flag management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis Pablo S. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Great product. It works well; it's easy to use and very feature-rich.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Although there have been improvements to the UI, I feel some of these have made it harder to use (too many clicks).

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AB Testing and feature management like scheduled and incremental rollouts.

  ### 3. Makes managing development easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It makes managing different environment setups much easier. It gives users a much easier way to manage features.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

We have had an issue where a user has been able to make a change without permission and this has led to issues on our end. It would be nice to have a feature where someone could make a change request and it could be approved.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to manage features across different environments

  ### 4. An excellent feature flagging system with a minor problem

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Integration of the SDK for our mobile apps was relatively simple, and usage over the last two years has been excellent. We've used it extensively for featuring flagging as well as configuration items. Switching flags can't be done by accident, setting up a new project gets you a production environment AND a testing environment by default, and when a new flag is created, both environments get access to the flag (though the states are separate).

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

User account creation and permission management are a mess. Our entire company uses it and each new user can see every single project within the console. I'd love it if users could only see the specific projects they have access rights to.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launch Darkly allows us to ship features in an MVP state and try them out with small batches of users while we iron out the problems. It means we can ship faster and hide incomplete things behind feature flags.

  ### 5. Launch Darkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler Y. | IT Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Extremely fast and easy to use. Onboarding team was very helpful.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

None. The platform works well and their documentation allowed us to get started quickly.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use LD for enabling feature rollout.

  ### 6. great remote control tool

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is adopted across the company. No need to purchase additional license

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

It works well for our need to control features remotely so far.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consolidate our feature control solution across different platforms.

  ### 7. Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaac M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

easy to turn on and off features, worked great with multiple languages

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

they got rid of aliasing. Could not find help on stackoverflow.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easily turn on and off features.

  ### 8. Excellent platform for feature management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

We found LaunchDarkly very helpful to organize Continuous Delivery by separating deployments and feature releases. It also allows to better isolate concurrent WIP done by different teams. We often use LD for A/B-testing and gradual feature releases to end users.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing really to complain about, the tool does its work, without any customer support needed.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem LD helps us with is Continuous Delivery, as we have multiple teams working on large features.

  ### 9. Best feature flag product on the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The performance is unparalleled when evaluating feature flags, giving us the flexibility we need to impact millions of users monthly. It's really simple to implement, support is great and we use it daily integrated with our product workflow, nothing goes to production without LaunchDarkly.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Improved perfromance when handling larger email lists.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy real-time flow changes and safe deployments

  ### 10. Very necessary for experimentation oriented teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

When integration is done successfully, you are free to explore your hipothesis with the safety of a solid feature flag system. The best part of it is that all changes are imediate. You can select who will be affected by your changes and easily set them across multiple deployment environments. That really allow for great speed, specially if the whole business has the understanding that you can experiment without many risks! Deploying on weekends is no longer a problem.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

There is a price to everything, and LaunchDarkly will (fairly) charge you for the feature flags that you forget to archive. Of course, forgetting feature flags is bad by itself, so you will have one more reason to clean up after your experiments.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Releasing features risk free, to selected audiences and allowing us to continuous deliver without worrying that our features or fixes can break production. It's also possible to integrate LD with a multitude of services, allowing you fine control over your deployments.

  ### 11. Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

Sometime it takes more than usual time to integrate with Product

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to maintain flag for multiple environments

  ### 12. Great tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Launch darkly is a very useful tool for feature gating. The level of granularity of LD flags are impressive.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I dont have any major complaints about LaunchDarkly.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use launchdarkly for feature management, esspecially for new features that we don't want to full release or for rolling back bad features. We also do some testing for certain features to see if they should be released to other clusters.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis G. | Principal Software Engineer, Developer Experience, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly provides the BEST available SaaS product for Feature Management, with continued efforts in releasing new features and capabilities to customers regularly. While providing a great product, they also provide first-class expertise in guiding and consulting on effective feature management within the organization.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly can be confusing at times with the number of options to configure a target. The product could be streamlined to allow for more effective organization of features and introduce simpler targeting concepts for new users.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly solves our continuous delivery of features by enabling progress delivery through decoupled deployments and releases in a completely off-the-shelf SaaS offering with no other dependencies or needed infrastructure.

  ### 15. Great for product analytics

LaunchDarkly's real-time feature flagging enables precise control and experimentation in software deployment, enhancing both developer efficiency and user experience.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

complexity for newcomers to understand and implement feature flags effectively, and the potential for over-reliance on feature flags

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Risk reduction in deployment and gradual feature rollout

  ### 18. LaunchDarkly is an easy to use and expansive tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan T. | Senior Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly allows our teams to infer data from experiments and flag features across both web and native platforms. It has helped us selectively rollout new features and easily measure metrics to those roll outs.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Overall the platform is easy to use, however it would be great to selectively transfer settings such as flags or experiments across different environments or a way to "publish" from a dev/stage environment to production.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly is able to solve our needs to selectively roll out new features required by brands which have enabled a decoupled engineering and product development from deployment comms with our brands.

Expensive to add seats for use across the org.
Initial connectivity issues between pods and LD.

Currently only ease of feature management by making feature flags easy to create, audit, and change.

  ### 20. More and more useful as PMs get past the learning curve

1. Well rounded functionality and features
2. Ease of Use
3. Ease of Implementation
4. Ease of Integration

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

1. There is headroom for making the compute utlisation cost efficient

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. PMs are engaging with data w/o dependency on analysts
2. Funnel and Flows are visualised on the Houseware app; available for the Org to analyse freely

  ### 21. Awesome visualisation tool for events

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anjan M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The flows and the trends feature. The flows gives me an immediate one-stop understanding of how users navigate between screens. The trend lines along with custom formulas too help in immediate visualisation of real time trends

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing comes to mind. There are some features like threshold alerts which can further improve the product, otherwise it's really good

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1.Helps in understanding the sequence of event flows on app
2. Helps in visualisation of real time trends and finding patterns
3. Helps in understanding time to conversion

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It has been very good when analysing the trends and cuts and get directional insights Eg, funnels help a lot when checking the complex web the translating the journeys of users.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

When in need of very customised and absolute numbers, it becomes very difficult.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Essentially plotting the complex cuts and funnels which takes a lot of time to fetch.

  ### 23. A simple way to safely launch updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It's easy to use interface and usage metrics to support data gathering to guide future product updates.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Mostly small inconsistencies like having to opt out targeted users to consider the flag to be fully launched.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to safely test new features. Targeting specific users for their feedback around feature implementation. CI/CD to progressively support and update our product without losing steam.

  ### 24. Launch Darkly makes turning features on / off seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Launch Darkly allows you to use custom json to provide literally any type of flag you want down to your client. You can provide a whole configuration for a user, making it easier than even making a user profile for some simple apps.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

They update their APIs very often and deprecate them shockingly fast (especially given most have some kind of breaking change). I would like longer windows of older supported APIs.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launch Darkly allows me to beta test features, hidden from general consumption. This allows me to push features continuously without having to worry about everyone seeing work in progress.

  ### 25. LaunchDarkly helps release features quickly and with confidence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankur P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Ability to turn on and off features easily without deployment, enable features for target users only, ability to do percentage rollout of feature and more.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly UI can have the ability to copy rules across different environments instead of having to write them for each enviornment manually.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to launch features without having to revert code or do another deployment. Also target users in Production env so can have confidence feature works as expected in production for small set of internal users before rolling to general public.

  ### 26. Feature Management Redefined

Controlled Feature Rollouts
Risk Mitigation and Targeted User Segments

  ### 27. adding feature flags to do A/B testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

easier and quick to add/remove feature flags.

  ### 28. Houseware is a game changer! My time-to-insights has gone down from hours/days to minutes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Time taken to analyse data & arrive at insights has significantly reduced with Houseware. It's very easy to use too and covers most of my use cases for product analytics.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Some data attributes are not easily accessible unless you get them instrumented. That might pose a challenge when you have not fully set it up or add a new event on your product.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Houseware helps you look at user funnels, track A/B experiments, user flows and a lot more. It helps me get a quick look at some data I want to check and get a directional sense before I dig deeper into analysing a problem statement.

  ### 29. Makes developing and releasing features much more easier with a simple click

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Ease of implementation and ease of turning on/off feature flags instantly. Also, being able to target users individually and have environments for test/production environments. Reliable uptime; never had any issues with LaunchDarkly going down.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The initial setup can be a little daunting.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to launch features at the click of a button when it's ready. Turning off features if a breaking bug occurs in the production app. Due to working on a mobile app, we have release windows of every x amount of weeks. If one of our features breaks, we can simply turn that feature flag off and issue a fix for the next release rather than scrambling for a hotfix.

  ### 30. A super intuitive and useful tool for understanding users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Remo G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Quick, intuitive and easy-to-use. Great support team.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Certain flows are hard to figure out and need some setup effort from the internal data teams.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Houseware gives quick and sharp insights on ongoing A/B tests, funnels for different types of users, feature usage and more.

  ### 31. Robust and reliable tool with engineering focused solutions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orrin C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

High level of configure-ability within the parameters of an experiment or feature flag. Separated concerns with environments and ability to link to metrics for rollback.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Approvers are not being segmented by areas of ownership & change sets not displaying the entire final state of the configuration.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Large-scale deployments in a safe manner. Ability to give control to product owners to roll their own features without creating/deploying code-level configurations.

  ### 32. Launch Darkly for Financial Institutions main customer facing site

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Feature toggle and the ability to launch to a small pilot set

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

We have setup Launch Darkly flags now through Jenkins, a process which is painful

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enable/Disable features for a small pilot

  ### 33. review from a full stack architect

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peeyush T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It works great. Never had any downtime noticed, which is exceptional. You can also tie it to users. It also works on backend and frontend

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Pricing could be cheaper. The number of projects in the basic plan is limited to 2.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

releasing features without fear in continuous delivery

  ### 34. Great product which has changed the way we approach software development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

User-friendly Interface, robust permission capabilities, reliable product, great support, extensive documentation

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

No complaints so far! Every experience we've had with both the product and the company as a whole has been positive

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launch Darkly was a necessity for migrating our development team to use trunk-based development. Without their software, we wouldn't have been able to complete that initiative. In addition, the "risk-free" deployments have enabled us to deploy code with the peace of mind that we can revert changes and reduce the negative impact on our customers with just the click of a button

  ### 35. We use it a lot in order to ship fast and safely in production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paz A. | Technical Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Very easy to use and implement feature flags in your product.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Pricing is a bit strict being a per-user basis.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use LaunchDarkly to release features in smaller chunks because we hide them under a feature flag. This allows for more rapid delivery without breaking things.
And even if stuff break we can always turn off the FF and use it as a rollback machnizem most of the time.

  ### 36. The founder is very helpful and knowledgeable

There's nothing bad about the product. It may not suit the need for every firm based on their tech stack.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

data engineering

  ### 37. User friendly analytics over all of source of truth i.e. warehouse

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Integrates with the warehouse and gives me a user friendly interfact

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Feature parity isn't completely there but they are moving super fast

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

analytics over single source of truth without writing additional data pipes

  ### 38. Houseware is a great tool for Fintech companies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2023

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Data ownership lies with us vs sending it out to a third party. Houseware acts as a layer over snowflake so that no data is sent outside our machines.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Currently, there's no support for DB/ Entity data.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data privacy and security.

  ### 39. LaunchDarkly has allowed us to deliver 70x faster than before

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is instrumental when it comes to helping engineering and product teams achieve continuous deployment goals. Furthermore, there hasn't been an easier tool to manage feature rollouts to individual customers, customer segments, or just percentages of customers. LaunchDarkly has empowered our product marketing to truly determine when and how to launch new features into the marketplace. No longer do we require date-driven coordinations and can instead focus on building quality software irrespective of code deployments.

Favorite features:
* Ability to cover all types of roll-out scenarios
* Feature flag first where other products are experimentation-first
* Different types of flags (string, bool, JSON)
* Automated scheduling and workflows
* Robust API to build custom processes/experiences on top of
* Triggers for self-healing (e.g,, Datadog alert calls LaunchDarkly to turn off a feature)
* JIRA integration to see flag state from tickets.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly hits most of the desired features in a Feature Flagging tool. What could really set it apart is ...

* SSO is an add-on. Prefer to have services that value security regardless of what tier.
* Having an option between Pro and Enterprise to help those in that growth space. Pro has limited security controls but Enterprise is pricey and hard to move into.
* Would like to see more robust integrations especially for dynamic segments. (e.g., populate a segment based on snowflake query)
* Kill switch tends to trip up new users. ON doesn't always mean its on rather means its serving flag values based on the rules configured. It's possible to have a setup where ON will serve the 'off' variation but that isn't immediately obvious.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly solves the problem being able to decouple code deployments from feature releases using a variety of roll-out strategies. It has had direct impact in our ability to move from legacy engineering practices to continuous deployment. It has also enable our product/marketing teams to better coordinate when to introduce features into the market place. Probably the biggest benefit it has is that we can now test in production safely without customers being impacted then slow ramp the traffic and watch telemetry to ensure its stable. Having ability to shut off a feature that is unhealthy is really powerful.

  ### 40. LaunchDarkly Made Deployment Risk-Free and Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wen Z. | Cloud Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I like the core feature management feature; it is easy to set up and use; it has tons of integration available for use; it has a great built-in audit tools for admin usage.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I think it is missing some needed quality-of-life functionalities such as batch apply / delete flags, I also see the need to open up the community to allow us to work on some of our needed features

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The deployment stress, flexibilities to allow us control which portion of the users get which portion of the functionalities, easy for us to roll back breaking changes.

  ### 41. Convenient and easy to use tool to launch in production and organize Early Adopter programs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas M. | Principal Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easy to use, possibility to handle feature flags across multiple environments or datacenter, possible to notify in a slack channel, easy to add accounts to the enabled or disabled list with autocompletion, integration with our SSO (OKTA)

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

the list and search feature for finding the right flag you're looking for could be a little bit more intuitive and nicer, but it still works ok. Not so easy to browse the history of changed features, there is an audit log and one for each flag so I guess it's ok

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy and SOC2 compliant delivery of features in production that are staged and supporting Early Adopter programs by enabling some customers only. We are much more efficient and can collaborate with instant enabling of features when we (including doc) are all ready to start a feature, and can also instantly revert it if there is an issue.

  ### 42. LaunchDarkly provides a reliable and flexible feature management service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Reliable feature management service. Integrates well in DevOps and SaaSOps workflows and tools such as Slack. We had a complicated network setup with edge devices requiring connection to the service, which we could address by implementing an LD proxy service inside our VPC on the cloud side.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

We haven't found any issues with LaunchDarkly; all our use cases are working as expected.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for the following use cases: decoupling deployments and releases, rollback of features, improved MTTR, turning features on and off for all users, and trunk-based development.

  ### 43. Easy and Risk Free deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

For me, it is straightforward to manage my feature flags from an interactive UI and keep track of the state of my toggles. It has tons of integration available for use. It's great to use LaunchDarkly with virtually any tech stack. It offers excellent controls for roles and permissions, allowing teams to collaborate effectively with little risk of groups being able to configure features in production for other teams' functionality.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

There are areas, such as targeting, where I believe the user experience could be improved quite a bit. SSO is an add-on.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to turn on/off various features and code paths for specific customers or customer groups. Dev/Staging/Prod switch and separation of control. Fallback control to revert to the old behaviour in case of unwanted issues.

  ### 44. Flexible deployment at your finger tips

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey T. | Principal Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Variety of ways to implement launch darkly and utilize its benefits in the ways you need the most

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Code scanning isnt free (although I understand why is isnt')

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly enabling us to use CI/CD without concern but we are starting to use its targeted population benefits

  ### 45. I liked the vast variety of use cases for launch darkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayant K. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Managing releases is quite a hassle for any modern application, but launch darkly comes in handy. We can release new features way faster without worrying about existing stability.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I didn't dislike anything as such but i feel there is room for improvement in the rollouts management flow. Also i couldn't understand the usage of canary tests.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most common problems any modern application faces are managing releases, having a proper CI/CD pipeline, setting up remote toggling of features which launch darkly comes out as very helpful.

  ### 46. Feature toggle was last decade, LD is doing contnual integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Earlier, we used to depend on the backend team for flag management, there used to be a couchbase document or a SQL table controlling the flow of feature toggles, but a simple tool like LD eliminated that requirement. For me, it is really easy to manage my feature flags from a interactive UI and keep track of state of my toggles

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Lot of work needs to be done on experimentation side, A/B testing support is rather minimal with absense of statistics about how many times the toggle is made available in sampling of users.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature Toggle management, cleaner non cookie-based way to manage new releases.

  ### 47. A brilliant way to separate a deployment from a release of new functionality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G. | Head of Software Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I like the ease of implementation and the power within the tool to target features to individuals and segments based on pretty much any attribute. It's great to use LaunchDarkly with virtually any tech stack. It offers excellent controls for roles and permissions, allowing teams to collaborate effectively with little risk of teams being able to configure features in production for other teams' functionality. Rolling out features and experimenting with new functionality is a brilliant way to safely deliver new value to your products, proving along the way that customers want that feature.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

One area that can be developed further within LaunchDarkly would be the experimentation data and UI. Gaining insights from the segments of customers used within experiments is tricky as experiment data is collated together, even when separate targeting rules were used to enable a feature

**Recommendations to others considering LaunchDarkly:**

Trial it with a simple demo, such as changing a logo or some text within the production environment. This demo can be shown to stakeholders to prove how quick and powerful the feature flagging functionality can be

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are two main value propositions with LaunchDarkly for how we build software: decoupling a deployment from the release of a feature and the ability to experiment before rolling something out 100%. The former point is crucial in reducing any risk of doing deployments and ensures that the Change Failure Rate is low. The latter point allows us to know that customers are interested in the features that we are building. This ensures we can prove value and interest before investing too much time and resources into building them only to find later that they are not as valuable as first thought

  ### 48. My experience with LaunchDarkly has been fantastic.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I like how easy integration of the SDK into our software has been. They have several different SDKs depending on the client type. The documentation for integrating the different SDKs has been easy to consume and apply in practice.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I would like to see some improvements to the management platform. There are areas, such as targeting, where I believe the user experience could be improved quite a bit.

**Recommendations to others considering LaunchDarkly:**

I would recommend getting a trial version of the LaunchDarkly and giving it a try. Once you start to use the platform you'll realize how easy it is to use.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, we are mostly using LaunchDarkly from a development perspective to hide active feature development from our users. We can follow trunk-based development practices and release versions of the software that can be exposed to just our QA staff in production so that testing can take place in that environment which is often easier.

  ### 49. Superb alternative for feature flagging

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thrifty K. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

ease of use and quick learning curve is the best thing about launchdarkly

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I would like to have development demos and more for self service features in coming updates

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

feature flagging is no more just a thing of tech development but business teams can also leverage this.

  ### 50. Easy to implement (couple of sprints) and very easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganesh E. | Software Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2022

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

SDK is very easy to use and implement. So far from the POC it seems to work great

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

None. As mentioned above its easy to use and implement

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently doing a POC to add feature flags that will enable turning features on and off easily. POC is successful so far
