  ### 1. Six-Year Customer Lost Over a Preventable Account Recovery Failure

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie G. | VP of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2026

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

For nearly six years, LastPass served my family well as our password manager. It was easy to use, simplified password management across multiple devices, and made it convenient to securely store and organize login credentials. The Family plan was straightforward to set up and made sharing passwords between family members simple. Day-to-day, the product generally worked as expected, which is why I remained a loyal customer for so long. Unfortunately, those positives were overshadowed by the account recovery experience and poor customer support. A password manager is only as good as its ability to help when something goes wrong.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The biggest drawback of LastPass is its account recovery process and the lack of meaningful support when something goes wrong. Family Managers are unable to help family members regain access to their accounts, making the Family plan far less useful than expected. Customer support was slow, unresponsive, and ultimately dismissive, even suggesting that resetting the account was acceptable because there "wasn't much information" saved in the vault. Seven days without access to an account is unacceptable for a password manager, especially when there is no practical path to resolution. Compared to competing password managers that offer family account recovery features, LastPass falls short where it matters most.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was a loyal LastPass customer for nearly six years and trusted the service enough to put my entire family on a Family plan. That trust is gone.

For seven days, my family member was locked out of his account because he needed to reset his master password. Despite countless attempts to resolve the issue, LastPass provided no practical way to restore access in a reasonable amount of time. A password manager's primary job is to help users securely access their information, and LastPass failed at the most critical moment.

What made the situation even worse was the terrible customer support. Responses were slow, unhelpful, and offered no real path to resolution. As the Family Manager, I was shocked to discover that I had virtually no ability to help my own family member recover access to his account. For a product marketed as a family solution, that is an incredible oversight.

The most disappointing interaction came from LastPass support itself. Rather than helping us recover the account, we were told:

"Since your family member does not have much information saved in his vault yet, resetting the account would be the best course of action."

That response completely missed the point. The amount of information stored in the vault is irrelevant. Whether there is one password or one thousand, the expectation is that a password manager helps customers regain access to their accounts, not dismisses the problem because there isn't "much information" to lose. That response demonstrated a lack of empathy and a troubling attitude toward customer support.

This experience exposed a fundamental weakness in LastPass's Family plan. Family Managers have no meaningful way to assist a family member who is locked out of their account. Competing password managers, such as 1Password, provide family recovery features that allow organizers to help members regain access. LastPass leaves families stranded when they need help the most.

After nearly six years as a paying customer, I have canceled my LastPass subscription. It wasn't because of the technology alone, it was because of the complete lack of responsive support, the dismissive attitude we encountered, and the absence of basic family account recovery capabilities. When a company holds the keys to your digital life, seven days without access and no meaningful support is unacceptable.

I cannot recommend LastPass to anyone, especially families. If you're evaluating password managers, don't just compare features; look closely at account recovery options and the quality of customer support. Those are the things that matter when something goes wrong, and in my experience, LastPass failed on both.

  ### 2. Dreadful customer service makes this once useful service unusable

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne B. | Retired, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

When it worked, it was a good service. A password manager is very useful. A long as you can access it.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

It’s customer service is awful. Didn’t used to be. I used to be able to report a bug, track it, and get a solution. Now it uses a bot chat that suggests any number of either unworkable or irrelevant links.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am traveling and trying to access my account. It has facial recognition turned on but prompted me for a master password that I don’t have. I tried to reset the password, and my face is recognized, but it’s returned an error message for two days. To access any actual useful customer support, you have to be logged in. Catch 22.

**Official Response from Becca Gage:**

  ### 3. No service, no response, no phone, no support, no chat, no program

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2025

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

If it doesn't work, there's nothing good about it.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

I cant log in after reinstalling windows. It is supposed to send me a recovery email but it never does. There are several other options, all require logging in, which it wont let me do. Dead end after dead end after dead end. I'm supposed to have codes and passwords THAT THEY NEVER GAVE ME. I paid for this program but am not able to use it, that is called FRAUD, when you pay for something and do not receive it. That includes "support". I see many other people in the same situations, asking questions about being locked out, with no response from LP, so its not like I can look up the answer. Again, there is no form to fill out for support, no chat available, no email, no phone NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING!!! Oh, if you want a corporate account, you can leave a message, but that's it. They are accepting new customers while screwing over their existing customers. Who are these incapable, inefficient, inexperienced, immature, uneducated and misdirected software engineers that come up with this GARBAGE.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its creating problems, not solving them.

**Official Response from Becca Gage:**

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

They were breached. They hid that they were breached. Their so called "Secure vaults" are being decrypted by users that trusted them and sensitive actions being taken. Cryptocurrecny stolen and more.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. LastPass only creates more problems.

  ### 5. Unreliable apps, and multiple instances of data corruption

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob A. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2025

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

LastPass, when it is working well, works very well. It makes it easy to create new logins, use existing logins, and share logins with others.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The LastPass software is unreliable on Mac and iPhone. It often breaks for months at a time before an update is released.

My team has had several instances of the data for an entire account becoming corrupted. LastPass support was unable to restore the lost data, making it impossible to log into accounts.

MFA support is limited for LastPass, requiring the use of a secondary MFA app.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LastPass allows the members of my team to securely share logins. It also allows us to easily get into work accounts after an employee is terminated by taking over their LastPass data.

  ### 6. Overpriced & SCAMMERS - They REFUSE to cancel my subscription

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cathryn W. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2025

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

NOTHING. Password sharing does not always work.
Price gouging. Keep increasing the price "so they can improve the product". What is there to improve? We just want our passwords kept safe. Nothing more.
Also, there is no way to cancel the subscription on their APP.
I have put in a request to CANCEL the subscription, and they HAVE TOTALLY IGNORED ME. I have sent a reminder, and I am betting they are just going to take the money out of my credit card.
Costs have trippled since I first subscribed. They have not added a single extra meaningful feature.
What a ripoff

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Total ripoff
Prices keep soaring
Supposedly they are "improving" the product. Total rubbish.
There is no way to cancel the subscription in the APP. I have asked ages ago that I want this to be cancelled, they have not bothered to reply
Customer support is non-existant. I tried to get them to help me with other issues in the past and I just gave up, because they never fixed my problems or concerns
Money grabbers
Much better, less costly password apps out there

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not benefitting me at all
Giving me EXTREME anxiety because of the outrageous cost and no way to cancel
Despite having 4 licences, only 3 licences worked. When others tried to use it, they kept saying "it should work". Basically they charged for a licence that did not work. They never fixed the problem

  ### 7. When any s/w provider deprecates existing features to charge subscription -- avoid them

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Surya N. | Fractional CMO, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2025

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Everything in the free plan was great. Across device syncs. Good auto login systems

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Bad management - they removed existing features and put that in their paid plans - this essentially tells everyone they have a paucity of ideas and will charge you for features that were free.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You want to ensure that you don't re-use any passwords while maintaining complexity of passwords.
Dual Auth is great and free.
Biometric auth is great
You can take your passwords and notes with you across devices.

  ### 8. LastPass is terrible software

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

When it manages to not fail on the most basic services.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Everything is a downside. Bad ui design through the service. Makes me sign up *multiple* times for a single login. Terribly unintuitive ui to find and create new passwords. Terrible ui concept where you need to refresh the page in order to use it. For my use case I have to open a separate tab and have it blank just so I can use the browser extension.

If it manages to not make me log in a literal nine times in a day, then I'm happy. Horrible. I've had times where I log in and it simply takes me back to the screen to login after I've validated myself on the phone app.

Writing passwords down on stickies and typing out safely randomized passwords would be less work by a large amount. I've never like a piece of software less.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, I need a password manager. Is it benefitting me? no.

**Official Response from Karen Thomas:**

> Hello - This is very unfortunate that you are not having a good experience with LastPass. I would like to help, and put you in touch with an account support person, can you share your email address? I will assign a dedicated person to you. With our upcoming holiday, this may take an extra 2 to 3 business days.

  ### 9. Awful experience with the team creating fake users for my business

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorenz e. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It stored passwords and was functional for myself.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The dishonesty from the LastPass team was from an employee who no longer works there.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It help me store passwords for myself as I was logging into websites.

  ### 10. LastPass keeps getting worse with every update

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric K. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

LastPass provides very granular controls to customize your environment. When the browser plugin works, it is a very easy process for users to sign in, add, and manage passwords.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Since becoming a LastPass customer two year ago, our experience continues to get worse over time. The browser plugin consistently has issues now. Users need to sign in multiple times or clear their cache regularly for it to work. The timeout of the plugin rarely works properly and will either sign them out early or not timeout at all.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a Password Manager, we wanted a central place for users to store their credentials. Ease of use was very important for us since we planned to role this out to the entire company.

  ### 11. Impossible to contact t customer seevice

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Alternative Medicine | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

I signed up for LastPass because I heard and read good reviews. I need what they are selling but after almost to full year, I have been unable to utilize the services they say they provide . so sad to report. My experience has not been a good one.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

I have attempted multiple times for hours on hours calling numbers that don't work writing emails for which there is no response. For a full year I have been trying to be in contact with customer service. I am still unable to utilize this service. I have found Last Pass accepts my yearly payment, but provides no assistance otherwise. Sorry to have to write this, but that is my experience.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had difficulty entering all my accounts into LastPass. I spent hours and hours and was unsuccessful. When I attempted time and time again to contact Last Pass, no response. I am very disappointed and would not recommend it.

  ### 12. Used to be great, now is mainly just a vault

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It used to remember and autofill all passwords.
Now it just remembers - which it seems to do well.

The vault is easy to access, with an app for mobile.

The mobile authenticator works very well.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

They have deployed a new feature called 'advanced fill', which causes problems with a lot of websites. Unfortunately, it can't be turned off. To make life more frustrating, there is a button to turn it off - only the button doesn't work.

The mobile app search function is buggy (android), sometimes it displays results, sometimes not. If it doesn't, you need to completely exit out of the app and try again.

It also struggles on websites that use an address lookup. Lastpass will try to autofill, so you can't see the websites list of available addresses. This isn't a major, but it would be really nice to have the option to stop the autofill for that text box.

It also seems they have disabled the ability to export passwords on business account - pretty frustrating if we need to use other s/w (browser) to get around some of the lastpass bugs.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a vault that stores all passwords and can generate new passwords for you.

  ### 13. Support is not great

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

I enjoy the ease of the Chrome Plugin and ability to share passwords across an organization.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

You randomly get kicked out of LastPass and your password hint will disappear. It's almost impossible to get someone in customer support in a timely manner.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping passwords secure while still being able to share across the organization.

  ### 14. Not very user intuitive.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Nice having a central password manager and a single website.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Doesn't autofill passwords very easily. Master password is annoying.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Forgetting passwords.

  ### 15. Not user friendly abd not easy to implement within a team.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Keeping the password in one location and being able to share with different team

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The admin console is not user-friendly. Creating a new account has too many steps and different tabs. When changes are needed, you have to remember to go through all of it otherwise the end users end up missing some access.
Often the passwords are not saved properly in the auto-saved version, the older password still shows up, which creates some logout. If you have more than one account in a specific platform, the system gets the password mixed up.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All the team members can access our different platforms without having to share password

  ### 16. why would you us a password manager that got hacked several times?

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

The front-end browser integration is pretty decent
lots of enterprise features

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

terrible support, horrible support process/portal
the whole backend/admin UI feels clunky, like multiple different apps which have been bolted together. Finding features and options is often not intuitive
They got hacked several times
mobile support was rubbish and they just kept saying they are working on it for years

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

managing and sharing password for business and personal user

  ### 17. A Nice Idea...that is FAR too bugy

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

I unfortunately do not have a lot of positive thoughts regarding LasPass

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

LastPass has continuously been buggy, and my computer / Google can way more easily store and save passwords.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is not solving any problems and unforutunately does not benefit me at this time. It acty bugy, makes it difficult to login, and sharing passwords is not simple.

  ### 18. poor ui

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Reasonably simple password storage solution.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Confusing and sometimes flakey UI makes it hard to roll this out to other internal users. The shared folder feature has a visual error when viewed from the plugin.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Password manager with cloud host and sharing feature

  ### 19. Can’t use it bc requires remembering a password

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

There is nothing I have found hlepful with LastPass.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

It helps you remember passwords if you can remember last pass password.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It hasn't solved any problems or benefited me in any way

  ### 20. Terrible..

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ginger L. | IT Engineering Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

That some things are easy to do - like the most basic of things.

I have been a personal LP user for wow like 15 years or so? I've been both a paid and free user. Not bad (other than the data breaches.. but different story) and I never needed customer service.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The customer service is a joke.

Do yourself a favor and avoid paying this company.

The past 3 years I have been at a company with about 900 LP users and the SERVICE STINKS! ABSOLUTELY IS ATROCIOUS!
We pay close to 70k a year for JUNK customer service (data breaches aside). My tickets which don't seem terribly difficult to me- billing questions, some account mergers etc have taken MONTHS to be resolved and that is me emailing every few days for some type of update. Some type of correspondence.
And that has also never worked- I have consistently, on EVERY ticket with them, have had to open a new phone call ticket for some type of update. You should see my 'cases' list. It's insane and me just asking for updates. My last ticket hasn't had a reply from them in 2 weeks.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
I'm trying to convince my team that the hassle with LP isn't worth it and I'd rather go through the pain of migrating than having to deal with this vendor any longer.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

storing and sharing passwords amongst teams

  ### 21. LastPass is past its usefulness

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas B. | Systems Administrator, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It was a solid multiplatform to use for password management. It had all the features you wanted for storing passwords and other important information. The browser extensions and mobile apps were

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The platform has had a number of breaches over the past few years which will happen with these kinds of platforms. However, instead of being transparent about the issues they have repeatedly tried to cover these instances. It has repeatedly happened and shown how poorly they are about you as a customer.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a good personal and shared password manager letting users store their important passwords and share passwords when needed in the business environment. Also was easy to setup users with SSO in.

  ### 22. To many exposures

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martyn T. | Security Operations Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Good functionality, clarity of stored accounts and credentails, easy sharing and good controls. The web pugin is snappy, loads rtapidly and detects fields to populate immediatally.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The lastpass vault gets breached too many times in a year and the company itslef does not disclouse true state of the imapct on users as well as the time frame on breach. Untrusted tech.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Woking in dinamic environment/business will always enforce vide tange on user to have miltiple accounts that do not support SSO. This is where the LastPass comes hande to capture these for you and reduct risk on the low password complexity and stored in the untrusted location. Last pass keep this safe and accessable. This usnt just limited to web/site/tool passowrds but can also sahre and store other files.

  ### 23. Used to be good, very disappointed by data breach and unfair/stealth charges with no refund

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Milos B. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

UX/UI is sleek across different devices and apps

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The fact that they charge users without heads up on annual renewal + refuse to refund even if complained within minutes of the charge is disappointing. They also make users jump through multiple hoops and customer support was unhelpful and almost rude, and they even insist on phone calls as a way of communication to make everything even harder.

They had data breach that was handled bery untransparently - and even the case that some of my passwords were at risk, but I didn't get any email about that (learned it from a third party tool alert). They only added sneaky label in the app next to my passwords, without a notification of any sort.

I am bery disappointed.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Friction around remembering multiple passwords while making them hard enough; ans friction around manually filling out passwords every time I log in somewhere.

  ### 24. Easy and reliable

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

LastPass just works. Setup is easy and from that point on it just works. Adding/changing things is equally easy.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

There have been some data breaches that are concerning.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Strength of individual passwords.

  ### 25. Password fill stopped working and could not get in touch with customer service

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robee L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

At first, it was useful (for like a month) until it stopped filling out log-in credentials.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Impossible to get a live person to troubleshoot issues. Lack of relevant support articles available.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using it for keeping our passwords secure

  ### 26. WAS great...

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

I loved the ease of use, the look, the user interface, all was great. Then, after the data breaches (yes, plural), I sadly couldn't trust the security any longer.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The data breaches. The service was absolutely perfect but I just couldn't trust it anymore.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LastPass solved my password problem. Exactly what it said it was going to do. It was great! I wish it would stayed great. I had one login for everything - and it created my passwords!

  ### 27. LastPass is not the ideal password manager

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It serves it's purpose somewhat as a means to store and share passwords.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

It's clunky, limited, and I get frequent emails about security breaches they've encountered.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LastPass offers a way to store passwords and share them with others who have a LastPass account.

  ### 28. Cancelling is a nightmare

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alvie K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

The setup was easy, while I used it didn't have a problem until the data breach.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Canceling your subscription is borderline impossible. I would say the UX was predatory.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Password management

  ### 29. No longer recommend

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Used to be my goto Password Manager. Easy for a variety of use cases.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Because of the recent security issues and lack of clarity about exactly what happened, I would no longer recommend.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Effectively managing passwords.

  ### 30. Great tool for password management, however...

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

- Easy password management
- Great security
- Mobile app available, works pretty good

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

After an update I believe early 2021 or late 2020, they forced us to get a paid subscription if we want to use LastPass on desktop ánd mobile. They gave us a couple of switches (I believe 3) between devices, but after that it was no longer possible and the switching was a hastle anyway. This basically means that LastPass is unusable unless you're willing to pay for it. Even though it's very cheap if you wait for a nice discount, they still force you to pay for what used to be free. Not cool. Especially because they have a really big competitor who still offers this for free: Zoho Vault. And they have all the same functionalities and are just as easy (if not even easier) to use. Especially on mobile.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

Honestly, I used to recommend LastPass to a lot of people, but I wouldn't do that anymore because I now use Zoho Vault and it's been a great experience. I do think it's better than LastPass and at least matches it. But more importantly, you don't have to pay unless you need advanced features for your business. So individuals will never have to pay for their secure password management tool, which is great.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used LastPass for years as my password management tool. I loved it. But because of what I explained above, I ultimately decided to switch to Zoho Vault. So now I don't use it anymore.

  ### 31. Worst customer service ever

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mostafa K. | Chief Product Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2022

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

That was the first and only password manager I used, now that I moved to test other password managers I see that they are awful and worst one compare to other password managers.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Customer service,
Support.
Speed of extensions
Bad UX on Mac
Too much errors

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was just saving my passwords there for almost 8 years. I was so dumb that I didn't test other password managers.
They are awful don't even try lastpass

  ### 32. Useless free plan, overpriced premium plans

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It works as intended. You can store all your passwords, share them and use them.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Their free plan limits you to use it either on desktop or mobile (but not both)… so it is basically useless as you'd have to store your passwords elsewhere to be able to use it in other type of devices. There are better alternatives (Psono is completely free… and Bitwarden has more/better premium features and costs less). There is nothing Lastpass can do that the alternatives can't.

I used to use lastpass, but moved to psono. I keep my account due to some shared passwords I can't export.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing passwords securely and being able to create and store more complex passwords.

  ### 33. LastPass for Enterprise Business - a multiyear disappointment

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It stores passwords for our business which is expected.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Want timely support when users have problems? Want to be able to renew your product electronically online without hassle? Want to be able to easily find support information and be able to actually call and open a case?

If you are like me, these things should be a no-brainer for any customer of a modern Saas company subscription. Not for LastPass, err I mean LogMeIn. Support here is mostly hit or miss when you can actually get it. Response times are sad and at best 24-48 hours if you are lucky, and you won't be. You absolutely cannot call to get support even though the support site says business customers have access to 24/7 phone support. They go to great lengths to make sure you NEVER are able to see or find the phone number to call support (I am not kidding).

The last straw for me was in trying to renew our subscription by simply updating credit card on file only to get 404 errors after clicking the button. My company profile link in their admin console has another button to "buy licenses" but when clicking it I'm redirected to page that says the purchase is not compatible with my account. Then says I need to contact support (full circle again with no access to move forward).

I've heard for the past 4+ years that their product support was supposed to be improving, but the sad truth is that it will never do so. Looking to move our business to 1Password and intend to never look back.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

Trust me, you should look elsewhere and save yourself the headache and embarrassment.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing of passwords and sharing to teammates.

  ### 34. Customer service is horrible, Software is glitchy

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Convenient and is good when it works. Chrome app is good.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The software is very glitchy. We are a paying customer for the past few years. At least once, a bunch of our data got corrupted, and they had to revert things, so I had to reset many passwords. Customer service's answer to everything is to reset, log out of everything and log in. They stop answering once you tell them that didn't help. You have to see their response; it's sometimes comical, like a joke.
We are looking to switch but it's just a headache to change everything. Android app also seeps to be corrupting data ( things show up with a square like character instead of the password ).
If you are looking around for a solution, look at other companies.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

saving passwords

  ### 35. Subscribed for 2 years, ended up moving to to 1Password

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kolby D. | Senior Manager, Website Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2021

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

It did the job in terms of password storage.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

The tool itself doesn't do much to differentiate itself from its competitor in price or function. I subscribed for two years to their free version; then, with no warning, they cornered me into subscribing by keeping my passwords but forcing me to pay to maintain use of the tool. I switched to 1Password and am much more satisfied in all aspects; price, function, and customer experience.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was using it to store my passwords.

  ### 36. LastPass: The poorly designed password manager

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

The promise of using only one password is great.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

This poorly designed app has corrupted my password "vault" multiple times, forcing me to reset all my passwords. That is the opposite of what LastPass promises. It is not even one bug that has corrupted my passwords, but different ones. This app is buggy and should not be used by any enterprise, since it so buggy. It doesn't even feel that secure, because sometimes when you reset your account (had to do that at least 5 times in the past 2 years), you sometimes can log in with your old password and your passwords will still be there for a couple of minutes. The app is unpredictable to say the least.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Password storage and management.

  ### 37. Great product for SMBs (i.e. less than 500 passwords). Unusable for Enterprise (~5,000+ passwords)

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William C. | CEO & Co-Founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2020

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Excellent product if you have under 500 passwords that your company needs to securely share and restrict access based on department and role.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Unfortunately, at ~5,000 passwords using ~100 folders, LastPass completely fails and takes minutes to load the results of a password search or sometimes completely crashes. We see these crashes and unusable load time across ~300 PC endpoints as this is a companywide issue and not an issue with a couple of individual users.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attempting to use LastPass for companywide password security based on role and department needed access

  ### 38. LastPass has gone to the dark side. Avoid this company.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug S. | Pastor, Religious Institutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2021

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Up until recently, it was powerful and free. That's over. Company is twisting arms to make money.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Extremely poor, unresponsive customer service. Disrespectful and deceptive.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it for password management, but now we are changing to another company as quickly as possible.

  ### 39. After 10 Years - No More

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joan M. | Self, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

In the past - able to use it seamlessly on any device

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

No longer able to use seamlessly. Price increase.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure, individual passwords

  ### 40. The concept is sound. The execution is miserable

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2020

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Better than nothing. SecOps approved though the features that led to it do not work (bugs). Creates secure passwords.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Too many to list. Buggy app despite being version 4.3.0. Terrible user experience (UX). Even the purchase experience was terrible as my boss was treated horribly by their sales people. Forced us to get more seats than our team needs. Only our team needs it but as we have >2000 employees who use MS domain controllers to authenticate, they demanded we buy more seats. Worse than car buying. RE: UX, it's is very click-happy. Might be due to adherence to MS modern UI though they did better with the app vs the browser extension. Seriously cannot wait to replace it.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

Personally, I use different software which doesn't have all the business-class features. For now, LastPass is the only solution that I've heard of. Unfortunately, bugs in their app made one of the primary functions for getting it impossible. It is supposed to support standalone apps (not web) but fails. It's as if they didn't even test it with their own generated passwords. It's painful to use as indicated. Outside of the SSO and MFA features, the shared/enterprise/group functions feel 100% overlaid on the original single-user code and it was done very poorly. Compared to another product I use personally, there's far more clicks and steps to get to the same result. Definitely not renewing contract if at all possible. The one-auth to one URL is unacceptable to a Windows domain based site. We cannot make use of the reused password feature with audits. All around unpleasant

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure vault for passwords using approved tool until a real enterprise solution is implemented.

  ### 41. makes life so much harder, and their support is awful

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

its a great concept! its meant to help a lot of people, but there are way too many sharing options that make it hard to onboard clients with it.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

i dont like how hard it is to share passwords within team members, and how hard it is to get clients to share things in an optimal way. i dont like how you need to be logged in with the browser extension for it to work properly.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

there should be a way to share passwords via slack.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it really makes things a mess instead of organizing. i think that it should mimic something like mailchimp that has less features and is user-friendly. the only benefits that it has had is helping us to onboard clients in more specific and detailed ways, but it creates more . problems than it solves.

  ### 42. Poor support, poor product experience

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2019

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

I like that it stores our passwords and allows administration through enterprise policies.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

It stores passwords for subdomains with the main domain's name, so passwords for each subdomain overwrite each other. We had a customer support manager CSM but he never helped us resolve our issues, and support was not helpful either.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

Ask them to tell you how different subdomains of the same domain work. We haven't been able to get them to work despite numerous attempts to work with their team. Also look at how they store master passwords locally in the browser extension on each device, which makes resets for users that have forgotten their master password impossible unless users have already setup a recovery method while logged in.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing more complicated passwords, and in a more secure way. When it works, at least.

  ### 43. Buggy product and terrible customer service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sigrid x. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2018

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Possibility to generate secure passwords and possibility to store these safely.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Buggy product, have had issues with with seeing passwords, settings (automatically logout), login in, and retrieving my password. Our LastPass admin is not able to give me a new password, as he is also experiencing issues with the system.
Customer support has not been helpful, polite, nor able to solve our requests.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

Find another system for your company, as our company has experiences so many issues with Lastpass and terrible and rude customer support.

**What problems is LastPass solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have used different systems at other companies, and compared with them, LastPass does not have any benefits. My company in general are fed up with LastPass (aka LostPass), and we will most likely change provider.

  ### 44. It would be easier to store passwords in my head.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wine and Spirits | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2013

**What do you like best about LastPass?**

Does its job by enabling quick logins.

**What do you dislike about LastPass?**

Bad if you use multiple accounts for each site (ex., multiple accounts). It's easier to just type in your password than mess with this tool.

**Recommendations to others considering LastPass:**

Use only if you have one login and one user for each site.
