Afterwards, the UI does a great job of detailing all of of the components needed to complete certification clearly so you don't get lost in the details. **What do you dislike about Thoropass?** It can be fiddly to get integrations to work the way you need to and communication is mostly driven by tagging advisors in comments, which can create some back and forth when nuance is needed. **What problems is Thoropass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Without needing to hire additional or specialized staff we were able to complete our SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 audits in 8 months. ### 4. If I had any complaint is was maybe getting us from square ZERO to being able to understand the process. We have worked with Laika for about a year now and through one full audit period. As a company working with financial institutions and with many compliance requirements I can honestly say that the platform makes management of not only the audit process, but management of policies, responses to diligence questionnaires, employee trainings, and compliance activities easy to manage and track. They also perform pentests as part of their service offering. I have found all of these tools intuitive and user-friendly. Their broad offering also allowed us to collapse a few vendor services into their single service [location] and save money overall. From a service perspective, Laika is similarly fantastic. I generally find with vendors that the sales pipeline is strong, and they fail when it comes to actually servicing their product. This is not the case with Laika. I meet almost weekly with our account manager to discuss needs, answer questions, handle technical issues (if any), and prepare for upcoming items. The audit and pentest teams are separate entities, but equally responsive and attentive. This ensures that everything stays on track and I am never left in the dark. I would highly recommend Laika if any of the above services are of need to you. Their product is fantastic and their staff is highly available and helpful. **What do you dislike about Thoropass?** There are a few improvements that can be made to those service offerings that may not have been part of their original "core" offering of audit and compliance. For example, the training portion makes it a little challenging to track where everyone is on their new hire and annual training and could use a better design. Another area that could use some improvement is the Integrations. While that may not be entirely an issue with the Laika platform, some integrations are clunky or will not connect at all -- though it should be said that this is the exception and not the rule. **What problems is Thoropass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not sure if my previous responses will be visible alongside this one, but to quickly reiterate, Laika allowed us to collapse several products we were leveraging other vendors for into one platform and add additional layers of compliance and audit control to our business. We can now centrally manage our audit activity, compliance, policy documentation (including employee acknowledgment), pentesting, employee training, and diligence questionnaire activity in one place. ### 10. Our compliance architect was very knowledgeable; she answered all our questions with straight-to-the-point answers, ensuring we didn't waste time and focused on what mattered. **What do you dislike about Thoropass?** Navigating the platform can be confusing at times. There is a "Progress View" and an "Implementation View" that contain duplicated information. Sometimes the text also does not match, and it creates confusion when discussing with colleagues or even with the compliance architect. There is a bright future for Thoropass Integrations, but they don't cover nearly enough yet. Getting a sense for where our compliance gaps are so quickly and then following the roadmap in Laika eliminates any mystery on our end. Having everything in one place is key since I manage SOC 2 and security assessments from customers. One great surprise was how easy it was to find our vendors' security docs. Laika pulls that information in automatically, which was a huge time saver. I didn't know about that feature until we were onboarding, but it is very helpful and deserves more promotion. **What do you dislike about Thoropass?** A few integrations were tricky to configure at first. But Laika worked with us to set it up and already shipped a fix for some things we had trouble with. One thing that's missing is definitely the ability to import data from files that we dump from other systems (CSVs, log, json, etc.). Some things just don't have APIs and others Laika doesn't have integrations for yet. It would be great to be able to export from those and import to Laika. **What problems is Thoropass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having built security products for years, I can say that tools for managing compliance are long overdue for an upgrade. We are a very technical team and most of us have deep security backgrounds. That being said, we don't know the compliance piece like we do the security stuff. After having an introductory meeting with a member of the Laika team, I received an overview video to watch that helped explain the interface and gave me a good understanding of how to utilize the platform. Once on the platform, it became clear how easy and intuitive it was going to be to complete the compliance tasks. Features such as the simple, but effective roadmap overview and the assign task function made getting started with the platform and tracking progress a breeze. After that, it became as simple as completing the tasks and reaching out to the responsive Laika team if any questions arose. **What do you dislike about Thoropass?** Overall, there aren't too many downsides to using the Laika platform for compliance documentation. In our specific scenario, it would have been nice to have templates that were a little more geared towards our company. As an early-stage startup, some of the templates didn't seem to be super applicable to us, so having a more robust template library that can be more easily altered to fit companies of all shapes and sizes would be a great feature to have. This is understandably difficult to do though, so it is doubtful that any other providers have done a significantly better job in this area. **What problems is Thoropass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Laika is helping us with our HIPAA compliance and documentation challenges. It forces a user to copy policy documents into a less-than-great in-platform word processor, which can negatively affect formatting from Msft Word or Google Docs. Their internal audit firm makes the audit process remarkably seamless, and all communications with your auditors can be managed from within the platform easily. **What do you dislike about Thoropass?** The software does not have a risk register functionality and instead your CSM will provide you with an Excel template, which is something that competitors offer. The automation doesn't cover everything, you'll find that competitors are able to automate much more of the evidence collection from your connected integrations than Laika can. **What problems is Thoropass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Laika helped us acheive SOC 2 Type 1 in an unbelievably quick amount of time and are continuing to support us throughout the Type 2.
