What do you like best about LabWare LIMS?

LabWare Lims is very adaptable. I can customize the system to handle changing requirements. Also, depending on the modules used or business purpose (R&D vs Manufacturing), there are multiple ways to achieve the same result. The system can be changed to adapt to the business unit strategy. For instance, you can modify specific tables for product specifications, product details, analyses to support your ways of working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LabWare LIMS?

The ELN system is based on SpreadSheetGear. There are some differences with SpreadsheetGear vs Excel that must be accounted for when using ELN. This is not a huge dislike as it has been, in my experience, very easy to overcome those differences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LabWare LIMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements for data capture. I have been configuring the system to allow users to switch from a paper based system to an electronic based system for capturing scientific data and result calculation. Some of the benefits include improved efficiency to record data and see trends. What do you like best about LabWare LIMS?

During our implementation there were multiple times where additional functionality was requested or modifications asked for only to find the application already had the options available, saving significant time. Also although out of the box the system has significant functionality, it was impressive how easy it was to modify or add workflows to meet our specific needs, without the need to consultants or specialists, but by simple configuration changes or adding our own functions in LIMS Basic. Having implemented and worked on several LIMS/ELN products, this one stands out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LabWare LIMS?

Using a cheaper outsourced service to perform some of the configuration turned out to be very costly requiring significant re-work. Beware of 3rd party semi experts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about LabWare LIMS?

I like the people that we work with from LabWare and also those in the customer community, met at CEC conferences annually and online forum. There is a good culture of knowledge sharing. The consultants from LabWare have been really knowledgeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LabWare LIMS?

Don't like use of Citrix, it's an extra layer prone to incidents and disruptions in our environment. We are trying to implement WebLims to address this.

Don't like the User Interface/design/Visual Workflow - it's been a challenge for users to adapt and they don't find it intuitive. The learning curve is higher than it needs to be if the UI was improved. There is a lot of flexibility with the configuration and this is a double-edge sword, that means the developers need some style guide to keep a consistent look and feel. Would be good if UI best practices/style guide were available for re-use.

Need a way to easily archive data when it's no longer legally required to be retained.

Need a way to easily access the data for analytics and reporting outside the database. EG, a parallel reporting structure versus the transactional data model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
