I've tried a variety of glorified PDF editors, including offerings from top names before I discovered Kreo. Kreo's shape recognition algorithms speed my process by identifying areas and measuring them for me. Specifically, the bucket-fill measurement tool continues to get better and better, and relieves me from a bunch of fine-point clicking to trace the perimeter of convoluted shapes (especially helpful for shaky hands). Kreo then provides outputs in Excel that I can directly plug-in to my models. I use it now for every job. Emilia, Richard, and Karolina provided excellent pre-sales/demo support, teaching me how to use the product so that my paid subscription period started with maximum effectiveness. Implementation in my context was as simple as having a new SaaS website to bookmark. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** Kreo works best with vector drawings and modern building floorplans. Most of my work involves scans of registered condominium plans into the Land Records database. Consequently, it's difficult to get the most out of the "automagical" features. That said, the bucket-fill measurement tool keeps getting better and addresses most of my needs. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I provide Real Property Appraisal services. My primary caseload consists of establishing Insurance Valuations, mostly Replacement Cost New, and Condominium Reserve Fund Studies. Both require estimating and costing construction of buildings and related site improvements. My primary data sources are registered plans which provide the dimensoins of the structures, but require meticulous point-and-click tracing to manually take-off general quantities. Kreo speeds this up by recognizing shapes, areas, and lengths for me (with a little prompting) and providing the output to Excel where I can integrate it with my computational models. ### 2. You should be able to right click on an area you have taken off and allocate it to a group without having to move to group and then search it. I also find when the automeasure feature is used it opens lots of automeasure boxes and can just be a little confusing. I think a tool box like approach, or the ability to set up products would make this easier. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Speed. However, it's important to note that this inconvenience is far outweighed by the overall efficiency and accuracy Kreo brings to the table, making it a valuable asset in my professional toolkit. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Working remotely while needing access to project drawings could have been a logistical and financial challenge if I were to follow the traditional route of printing. This would have presented two potential hurdles: (a) The cost associated with utilising a local printer for regular printouts could have added up significantly over time. (b) Alternatively, I might have needed to make a substantial upfront investment in purchasing a plotter for my personal use, which can be quite expensive. Fortunately, Kreo has proven to be a game-changer in this regard. It has completely eliminated these concerns and has allowed me to work seamlessly from a remote location. It is also user friendly as it was not difficult to input a drawing and start measuring. The auto measure and AI suggest feature is very helpful and functions well, which saves time when measuring floor plans. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** Although the AI tool is good, it measures everything and then you have to manually adjust into groups. For example, I have various floor finishes which are noted on a floor plan, the software does not pick up the different finisnhes and I had to manually chage them. Also it would be good if it could also do other types of drawings such as elevations or steelwork measures. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kroe software saves us time when measuring floor plans, we ideally want it to be able to measure everything which i believe Kreo are currently working on. When taking off I can make a measurement and that value is straight into a collated spreadsheet, its doing three jobs in one. Taking off, marking up, collating measurement totals. I save hours from the tradiaitonal form of taking off. I have recomended this to my colleagues. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** The AI function does not work well on the drawings we use, its not something I really use at all. Hopefully that will be refined. The excel sheet while very helpful is a bit clunky and awkward to use, not enough to make it bad, but again its just not refined yet. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time saving on big take off projects. it does three jobs in one for me. They do this through the use of their AI features which allows you to automate most of your basic measures, they also have a very user friendly interface which allows you to start measuring very quickly. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** I would like to see more depth in the AI feature. The auto measure feature is very useful but has limited applications at the moment, in the future I would like to see the AI feature become able to measure different wall types and ceilings as this is a very common feature of drawings. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's allowing us to try and automate part of our take-off process which helps us become more efficient. Different file formats can be imported such as PDF or DWG. An advantage compared to some other tools is that the quality of imported PDFS is not downgraded. There is also a black and white mode which helps to see measurements drawn on colored drawings. We can choose colors and thickness of the measurements we draw and when zooming out, these measurements become bigger and are easy to see. It is possible 2 overlay drawings to highlight their differences. We can sort measurements in flexible ways, creating folders, sub-folders and using drag and drop to move measurements from one folder to another. A rare feature for such tools is that there is an Excel-like table. It is possible to connect measurements with live links to this table and easily create bills of quantities. There is also a powerful system of assemblies. We can apply properties to any measurements, like thickness, height... to automatically calculate concrete volume for example. Then reports can be created. They work like pivot tables in Excel, which means that we can sort quantities according to any parameters, like levels, height, thickness... Finally there are promising features of automation. We have the autocount, which is already working well and can detect texts or shapes automatically and count them. And there is an auto measure tool that is constantly improving and detects lines and can draw rooms, walls... automatically. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** It can be long to display heavy PDF files. **Recommendations to others considering Kreo:** Invest in Kreo because it's the most promising tool. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** A challenge when making a 2D quantity takeoff is to convert simple measurements like lengths, counts, to a bill of quantity containing volumes, surface areas... Kreo 2D takeoff with its assemblies and excel-like spreadsheets makes that process much faster and safer without the need to reorganize data afterwards. ### 14. Many take-off softwares' use old UI's (user interface) that often complicate the simple task of scaling a drawing and finding quantities on those drawings. Kreo's modern UI has simplified the process for a competitive price point. There is a lot of potential here to be the go-to take-off software in the industry. With little training, one can dive into basic take-offs quickly and expand knowledge over time, instead of spending a lot of time learning functions that may or may not be useful. Simply upload the project file, scale and start. Digitized items can easily be categorized within a custom file system which can be built at anytime, instead of needing to set up everything before you start. A simple drag and drop feature allows you to move digitized items into different categories (files) and automatically take on the properties of that category. Those categories are then carried throughout the project, alleviating the need to recreate the same properties on a new page. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** The display of digitized quantities could be better. Currently the only way to see a total amount combined is to move the take off folder to the built in excel sheet that also works as the report feature (which is very handy). It provides the platform to accurately get measurements for all MEP systems and is capable of categorically storing all drawings with measurements on them for a project in an organised and user-friendly way. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** There are ways that it can be improved, like becoming more automated for MEP elements - recognising different parts like ductwork, containment, pipework and measuring these for you. The suite of physical measurement tools is impressive, and the AI that is being developed is exceptionally powerful **What do you dislike about Kreo?** One of the positives is that the software is cloud-based but with this comes the downside of internet speed and connectivity issues particularly with larger and more complex files **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the issue of the 80:20 time split. 80% of the time being usually spent on take-off and preparation of the estimate, with the key analysis and insight only being awarded 20% of the time. With the use of Kreo we are starting to flip this around. KREO on the other hand is a great "one-stop-shop" for completing takeoffs will all the features that one could want as well as great features such as the auto count and auto measure that i have not been able to find anywhere else. These tools when used correctly streamline the takeoff process and provide a great reduction of time spent doing takeoffs. Another great aspect of KREO is the team behind it, I have never experienced customer service as great as KREO offers. They are quick to respond to any questions or concerns you may have, as well as sincerely take any recommendations you may have to improve the platform. Throughout my time using KREO 2d not only did the Customer Success Manager but the CEO of the company had reached out to me to see how I was enjoying the service. Props to the team behind KREO. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** As with any new program, there are always small bugs or issues that need to be rectified. With KREO there were a few times I had run into small errors or bugs that had stalled my takeoffs. With that being said I was able to get these issues rectified and addressed ASAP with their great customer service. One other small issue I found was some of the tools or features lacked instruction or descriptions of how to use the feature properly or efficiently which led to some trial and error using the features. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest issue I was able to solve while using KREO was the ability to have all aspects of a takeoff completed in one place, with the use of their built-in spreadsheets I was able to complete many different and complex calculations inside of the program that I have never been able to compete with other programs other than also utilizing Excel. ### 26. It is a handy tool to transform any 2D PDF file into a meaningful database. Also, the team behind KREO is simply amazing, listening to their customers and always looking for solutions to improve the customer experience. **What do you dislike about Kreo?** For now, the tool still needs to be fed with French construction floor plans to be more and more efficient on this market. However, we can see the improvements weeks after weeks. **What problems is Kreo solving and how is that benefiting you?** With 2D Takeoff, we can now get information and databases from the 2D floor plans and link them to other types of data. It is also possible to use it to automate some tasks such as geometrical analysis. ### 32.
