Kraken has everything the most serious crypto trader could look for. The whole design of Kraken just screams hardcore. It has short selling and margin trading which is absolutely huge for those in North America that don't have other options. It also has lower transaction fees than most major exchanges. The worst thing about Kraken has to be either its extremely tough user interface, or its absurd security system. Right off the bat when you go on Kraken everything just looks really complicated. The charts aren't smooth like on other exchanges, the font is very lackluster and the details of everything are just presented very weak. It is as if the platform laid out all its details through a document service where everything looks basic and is in Times New Roman. The security part is extremely frustrating too because it is extremely easy for your account to get locked. It happened with mine where I accidentally typed in the wrong password twice then my account got temporarily locked. I then had to go through support just to have them tell me because I had a "generic username" that bots could easily access it and therefore it will continue to be temporarily locked. Kraken is one of the most established cryptocurrency exchanges. They are known for their security and as a result were selected to be the MT gox trustee. Kraken was one of the first platforms I've used for trading cryptocurrency. I liked how it feels professional to use and looks like a safe trusted platform. The security aspect was pretty solid, with 2FA and different level of identity authentication and different daily limits and fees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The fees could be a little high and the transactions did not go through very quickly. There was a lag and a lack of volatility and volume when I was using the platform, so a maker deal would not succeed every time. The authentication and limit setup took a while, and it involved many security measures including providing social security to get a higher limit. I didn't feel very comfortable doing that, but on the other side of the same coin, that allowed for more security. The best bitcoin exchange is needed for serious and professional bitcoin traders. Bitcoin security must be impeccable. Banking relationships must be sound and reliable. The trading engine must be fast. Order types must be advanced.
