While many tools exist for preparing images for the web, such as Photoshop's Save For Web tool and a plethora of other existing resizing and compression techniques, most tools have major shortcomings - such as being restricted to just one format (such as GIF, PNG or JPEG). Many tools will simply force an image down to a particular quality level such as a quality setting of 70 for JPEG images, regardless of what the results look like. And even after processing images through such tools, we find that there are still significant byte savings to be made on most images, without significantly impacting their visual detail. ## Kraken.io Image Optimizer Reviews ### 1. I am able to see what the image features and file features are without having to look in photoshop at a later point in time. **What do you dislike about Kraken.io Image Optimizer?** Honestly, I don't know if it is a downside or just a fact of life. I wish that premium features were not hidden behind a pay wall or you could earn credits by continually signing in. **What problems is Kraken.io Image Optimizer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Images are being compressed and damaged on a regular basis, especially if you cannot find the original file and have to resort to using one found in an email thread. The solution is Kraken. ### 2. That's makes it a lot more convenient no matter the OS and device used. The optimization is quite quick, and it doesn't degrade the quality of the images too much **What do you dislike about Kraken.io Image Optimizer?** Your images don't roll over to the next month. If you optimize that many images for a period, the remaining one per their pricing model doesn't roll over. that would be prefer. Some of the others may have similar options, however it'd get used more if it had a credit system instead **What problems is Kraken.io Image Optimizer solving and how is that benefiting you?** faster web pages - our webpages were so slow and it was a pain optimizing all the images. The optimize by url option made that process thankfully so easy. My clients were happy now their sites are faster and we can actually turnaround much quicker.
