The research functionality is excellent for the work we do at the fund. Having deep fundamentals, estimates, ownership data, and charting all in one platform saves a huge amount of time compared to jumping between multiple tools. The ability to build custom screens and track specific metrics across companies makes due diligence and idea generation much faster, and the depth of data feels institutional-grade without the institutional-grade price tag. There's a learning curve to unlocking the full power of the platform — some of the more advanced screening and customization features aren't immediately intuitive, and it took some time exploring menus to find where certain data points or settings live. It's replacing what used to be a patchwork of spreadsheets, multiple data subscriptions, and manual pulls just to get a clear picture of a company or sector. Now we can pull up financials, run comps, screen for ideas, and monitor positions all in one place. It was easy to learn my way around the platform and what it had to offer. The youtube tutorials were in-depth and got me excited about the product just as much as it taught me about it. The layout and clean terminal made it easy to read, organize, compare, and track data. The depth and width of its comparison software, news, metrics, fundamentals, descriptions, and docs/filings was absolutely incredible. It was so much that I am still a bit overwhelmed, but that is exactly how I want to feel with a platform like this. The pricing is incredible for what it offers. Data is expensive and quality data even more so. The site is snappy and performs extremely well even if I have numerous stocks and metrics being displayed on a single screen. However, I know that would drive up the price and would take away my ability to double check my research. What problems is Koyfin solving and how is that benefiting you? Fundamental research is something that can be extremely expensive, limited, or inaccurate. Koyfin has proven to me so far to solve all three of those issues by being competitive in price to its peers, deep in its data, and accurate from what I looked into. The multi-factor dashboard is very interactive for analysts who want to check the performance of any asset or index at a given time. Another strong point is the inclusion of most of the market, along with an excellent graphing tool that makes it easy to compare assets clearly and effectively. For example, if someone wants a 3-year beta on a monthly basis, that could be a problem for them. Also, I’m not sure whether it is levered or unlevered that is not defined, could be case improvement. The beta ranges, and whether they are levered or unlevered, aren’t clearly defined, and the available ranges don’t offer much flexibility. It would be helpful if you could improve customization by letting users set parameters that drive the auto-calculated beta. For me, this would be a big improvement because, just to get beta, I currently have to pull returns from Yahoo Finance and calculate it myself, even though beta is available on Koyfin. As a financial advisor managing model portfolios, I really like the Model Portfolio, Client Portfolio, and Watchlist features. They make it easy to get a high-level overview of how my clients are performing, and they also help me track the performance of my portfolio’s underlying holdings without much effort. What problems is Koyfin solving and how is that benefiting you? Koyfin helps me by providing a great custodial integration with Altruist, which is where I custody my client's assets. This data feed is updated daily and is a key reason why I chose Koyfin over some other competitors that do not integrate with Altruist. The least helpful part for me is that Koyfin doesn’t provide the same depth of data, research, and analytics as Bloomberg or FactSet, particularly for more institutional-level workflows. I’ve also found that its fixed-income coverage and more specialized analytics are somewhat limited compared with what I’d expect from premium institutional platforms. Overall, while it’s excellent for research and monitoring, I still need other tools for portfolio management, trading, and certain types of advanced analysis. Clean data, exactly what we need for security analysis at our firm, 3. The reporting feature -- more than just a value-add, this could be a stand-alone product on its own. I use Koyfin for building dashboards and tracking the market, and I appreciate how it fits into a nice middle ground between platforms like Yahoo Finance and Bloomberg, which are either too basic or too expensive. I really like the dashboard configuration and financial analysis layout. The financial analysis lets me see historical financials by company and, with a paid subscription, access detailed projections and consensus estimates. The dashboard builder is terrific; it allows me to build macro, micro, or industry-specific monitors for any data attribute I want. Also, the initial setup was very easy, taking 5 minutes or less, which was a pleasant surprise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Koyfin? The graphing capabilities are a bit more basic than Bloomberg and sometimes slower than Yahoo/Google. The news is also weak, even compared to other free / low-cost platforms. They need to build a better news aggregator or something that lets you plug into other news platforms you have access to. It needs to better capture press releases and SEC filings as well.
