What do you like best about Knak?

The ability to customize the content we create and then templatize it for expanded use.

Knak allows our client-facing team to be able to go in and build out new content that our messaging team can then turn into reusable content for any client.

What do you dislike about Knak?

I would like a more user-friendly module page when creating emails. It can be a little confusing to find the correct option.

What problems is Knak solving and how is that benefiting you?

They are solving the problem of scale. As our marketing deliverables have increased we were becoming bottle necked.

The first step forward was in creating a codeless creation platform. HTML is no longer a prerequisite to building content allowing more people to be able to develop content.

"The easiest way to design emails and sync them to Marketo"

What do you like best about Knak?

Knak has great design capabilities. Our Design team can go in there and pretty much do their thing, allowing us to create on-brand emails and special designs for specific campaigns. Plus, it's really easy for non-designers to work on emails, too.

And of course — the syncing to Marketo is MONEY! Not sure what we'd do without it.

What do you dislike about Knak?

There are occasions when the drag and drop design function is a bit rigid, and I'll need someone on my team to help me. Then in other scenarios, it's fluid and works exactly as expected.

Knak allows us to create beautiful, on-brand emails. And it allows every marketer on the team to be autonomous in getting our emails into Marketo. We don't have to rely on an operations person. What do you like best about Knak?

The easy-to-use user interface allows many members of our team the ability to create/manage email design tasks without being Marketo experts. Knak is far better than any other competitors I have tried out and offers a great product to go along with great customer support. The ability to save themes and modules has given our design team more control over email design than we've had before and is proving to enhance our processes when brand/design changes are needed. What do you dislike about Knak?

There are some little technical "quirks" here are there that take some getting used to. I'd like to see more enhancements put in place from the "feature requests" community board. Some features we'd like to see are: Preview in various email clients, dark mode functionality, approval deadlines, font preview, add symbols to text or buttons, review request email should include email name as subject, alternate background image for dark mode, highlight text in collaborate, calendar link, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Knak solving and how is that benefiting you?

Originally, we had two Email Service Providers (Marketo and HubSpot). We wanted to leave HubSpot, but needed an email designer in order to use Marketo. In addition to that original migration from one ESP to another, our team is consistently tasked to create many emails for many different business units within our organization. Our Marketing Ops team also does not have anyone that is specifically trained in HTML, all of our background and expertise is in Marketing Automation. Knak allows our team to operate seamlessly without too much help from our design team, which makes two different departments more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Time-saving - The speed of making effective landing pages and emails within Knak is much faster than in our marketing automation tool itself.

- Cost-saving - Even taking into account the cost of the licenses, the cost of outsourcing the required work to an agency to get a very similar result is much more expensive

- Customer experience - The quality of the emails and landing pages is higher than those generated within our marketing automation tool in terms of look and user-friendliness, but also code

- In-app review - The in-app preview feature makes it easy and fast to make changes to assets based on feedback from colleagues (compared with our marketing automation tool alone)

- Flexibility - The builder makes it easy to make and edit emails and landing pages so that the design fits the content and purpose. The "module" and "variable" system within our marketing automation tool makes this very hard to do in comparison. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's hard to say much - we have noticed that some tablets pickup the mobile view (firstly it's great you can define specific views for desktop/mobile) and the mobile view isn't the best view for the screen size. Recommendations to others considering Knak:

Work out how much time and resources it might otherwise cost to brief, prepare, build and adjust templates ongoing. The complete design flexibility here is worth it and since adding landing pages the value of the service has grown immensely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Limitations in native Marketo email and landing page design functionality. While I always like lower pricing, this is cheaper and more flexible for ongoing needs than using our digital agency to adjust templates, or needing to upskill team and spend time in code. The plug and play modules make building emails and landing page for our instance of Marketo a very seamless and efficient process. What do you like best about Knak?

It takes some initial effort, but with some planning and strategy, you can streamline your email building and design the experience around the users.

Once you get a nice number of layouts and templates to work from it makes creating an email pretty painless if you don't stray from the original designs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Knak?

Sometimes aligning things can be challenging, but overall I think this is more just getting used to the tool than a major flaw.

I definitely would like to see continual progress on the forms side of things and open up some more creativity on Landing pages such as animations, nav bars, and popouts etc...
