**What do you like best about Kleene?**

What sealed it for us was that Kleene team was willing to build the forecasting app with us rather than sell us a closed product. They already ran our data warehouse, so the integration story was a non-issue – every piece of data the forecast needed was already in one place, in a shape we trusted. We could shape the feature set against our actual operational reality instead of bending our process to fit a generic SaaS. That partnership model is rare. Beyond the technical build they acted as real sparring partners, and they were good at proposing solutions that addressed what we were actually trying to fix, not just the surface-level ask. Issues didn't sit in a ticket queue – we worked through them in real time.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Kleene is a relatively new product. We're using it and we're happy with it, but there's still room for improvement and continued development — we're glad to be on that journey with them. When you build something new from scratch there are always teething issues, and we had ours, but they were fixed on the go through our meeting rhythm.

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous forecasting system had become a bottleneck – it over-forecast some products and under-forecast others, logged stockouts as zero sales, and was opaque enough that we couldn't trust it. The new model handles our data correctly and is transparent enough that we can see why it lands where it does. The first restock order we placed on Kleene's forecast was 15–20% of our normal full-year restocking volume in a single round, which showed how much demand we'd been under-ordering against. Since then we've had 12 consecutive months of month-over-month inventory decline, now roughly 20% below baseline, replenishment resourcing is down more than 50% (about one FTE freed), and out-of-stock is lower than before even while running leaner inventory. Most of all, we trust the forecast again — the buying team has shifted from firefighting to planning.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

Within 1 week we had a functional set of reports in Kleene - the speed to access data is unmatched. We did run a full data migration project which meant it took a couple of months to get fully migrated and running, but we felt the benefits within the first week.

Kleene is incredibly easy to use, great UX and very intuitive. It gives any data analyst access to be a data engineer, it is very accessible to anyone who can write SQL. In particular the pop-out SQL console, the Pipelines and Pipeline editor give you all the tools you need to quickly debug your code and manage your data pipeline.

With Kleene we have saved over 48 hours of work a week in manual reporting (i.e. 3 people x 2 days per week)

Onboarding was seemless, the customer success team are very knowledgeable and friendly. We also had access to their consultants for a few workshops to ensure that we were setting up our pipeline in the best possible way. I highly recommend this!!

We have developed multiple pipelines in Kleene:
- Full marketing: Paid Ads, GA4, Offline marketing e.g. direct mail, Emails and newsletters
- Customer service reporting: Gorgias
- Sales reporting & returns: Shopify, Recharge, Rebound
- Stock reporting: Excel files via SharePoint
- Finance and accounting reporting: Xero

We will always have more to add and expand on, but all our reporting is now consolidated under one app which we love!!

The pricing is extremely reasonable and fair, we have not had to pay for any extras beyond our initial contract value. The only add on is if we add more data connectors. They are transparent and fair.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Feature requests are constant, but there are always new features we can use! They do get updated regularly!

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kleene provides one platform to allow you to extract your data on a schedule, transform it and store it in a 'data warehouse'. The DAG allows you to quickly identify bugs as well as the failure and success notifications that can be integrated with Slack. This means if any query failed to run I am aware immediately and can fix the issue. They have solved an issue that has been around for years and no one (that I know of) managed to get right, this is the product every data-first company needs!

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

The pricing model stood out to me early on: straightforward, consistent, and offering strong value given the amount of support bundled in. That support proved reliable throughout my time with Kleene; their analysts and account managers were quick to respond, and any issues we ran into were typically resolved within a day or two.

Before long, we were able to completely rethink our reporting setup. Because everything was housed in one platform, we rebuilt end-to-end reporting suites for our two major revenue areas, which ultimately reshaped how the business worked with data and allowed for genuinely strategic, data-led decision-making.

I spent the better part of two years working in Kleene on a daily basis, and the interface, along with its editor, made routine work easy to manage. Transform logic was easy to follow, updates felt safe to deploy, and the overall workflow was far more manageable than what we’d used previously.

In fact, the migration itself was surprisingly quick. One person handled the full shift from Matillion to Kleene in roughly a month. Kleene even developed custom connectors for us, which meant we didn’t need to rely on expensive outside engineering help, especially since we had no internal data engineer.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Nothing, loved the product, would buy again if I moved company in a heartbeat

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because we had access to knowledgeable analysts and account managers whenever we needed help, we were able to tackle any data-related challenges quickly. At the same time, the system let us consolidate all our data in one place in a way we could manage internally, without depending heavily on outside support.

We are currently working with Kleene on a second data solution, they have listened and understood our issue well, keeping in regular communication and providing updates.
Phase one was a huge success, providing us with a straightforward solution that is easy to use in the given timescale saving us time and money.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

Been using Kleene for the past year now. 
The solution was already in place when I joined the company and it's felt really easy to familiarise myself with the product.

The EL feature of the tool feels very robust already: it feels effortless to ingest data from various sources and they already have an extensive suite of connectors available. 

Customer service is really attentive to our business needs and also easily approachableand reactive when there are reported bugs. (kudos to Daniella!) 

As a result, the product is constantly evolving, bringing in new features and redesigning its UI to make it more user-friendly. Even if I don't get to use everything, it is easy to feel there is hard work happening behind the scenes.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

One thing that should be developped as a matter of priority in my opinion is the relationship between EL (Extract and Load) and T (Transform). They are still siloed while they should be treated as one pipe in my opinion. 

Another smaller comment is that some SQL transforms have not been designed optimally and with scalability in mind by Kleene.

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business requires us to be flexible and to explore a lot of different directions. Kleene helps us monitor the impact of our decisions by allowing us to gather all our different sources into our data lake and run cross-functional and multi-system analysis.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

The interface is very easy to use with lots of very helpful features which make using the tool quick and efficient. We have transformed analysis with the transforms tool and it's simple enough to be managed by a non-engineer. The team is always responsive to any issues and constantly push updates and new features. The cost model is different to other tools as you pay by connector, not by data volume so there is no limit on the complexity and depth of analysis you can pull out using Kleene. The team is very friendly and easy to get in touch with.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Sometimes the new features are confusing and require a few iterations of feedback to get right, but on the flip side they are very responsive to all feedback and do take all customers into account.

Unifying data from multiple sources, cleaning data, applying complex data models which need to be constantly updated and added to, management of data scheduling

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

- User-Friendly: Extremely easy to use and manage, saving us time and money. Without Kleene, managing our data infrastracture would need 10x more resources. 

- Robust Data Integration/Orchestration: allows us to seamlessly ingest data from various sources, with the ability to schedule and manage data cleaning scripts using basic SQL on an aesthetic & intuitive user intefrace. 

- Customer Service: Customer service has been exceptional, providing prompt solutions and answers to any of our questions. The product's documentation is also frequently updated and immensely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Nothing in particular, as any bugs are resolved promptly, and feedback is actively taken into account, with continuous implementation of new features.

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Data ingestion: allows us to extract data from a plethora of sources and load it into our warehouse. This is extremely quick & simple to do, prividing time and cost savings. 
- Data cleaning/orchestration: allows us to write and schedule SQL scripts that prepare our data for analytics. This means that we always have our data prepared in a timely manner and ready to use for business decision making.

Everyone within the company I have dealt with has been the perfect balance of professional, affable and knowledable.  Promises have always been kept and there is always a sense that you have been listened to and are valued.

Naturally there has been the odd bug here and there but working in tech we all know that's to be expected.  On the odd occasion it has happened there has been a timely fix in place.

Their support is timely and professional, and they are super friendly and always willing to help. They are continuously growing the platform and improving its capabilities, and in the 2 years I've been using Kleene their app has significantly improved, with tons of new functionality introduced. The app is also quite easy to use.

Some features are still a bit basic but they are constantly reviewing user feedback and making improvements

Kleene is a great ELT platform with a very easy to use interface. It offers good scheduling, logging and error handling features.

The initial Kleene analyst (Daniel) that helped set up our data was great to work with. Ongoing communication and support are excellent (Dani).

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

As one would expect there have been some minor bugs along the way, but any issues are always resolved quickly.

We didn't have the resources in-house to build a DW in the timeframe required. Our new DW helps us create insights.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

Simplicity of use.  Onboarding and implementation is technically excellent and the support team is great.  We have been able to integrate with secure SQL and Blob Storage accounts with little hassle.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Very little.  I would like a little more intellisense in the SQL editor to aid with ASCII and a reverse ETL tool set.

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have distributed data with large volumes of replication requiring integrity.  Kleen enabled us to use our existing skill sets to aggregate, clean and transform a complex distributed schema in a few simple steps.

It has allowed us as a technical team to take full advantage of the new software we have built to surface key operational data to the board and management teams with the smallest resouce cost.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

Kleene has a considerable number of app integrations and the team is always building new connections which maximizes the warehousing main advantage of having all data in one place.
Adding to that, setting up new connections and extractions is a simple and effortless process. Automatic data pulling has shown to be reliable, no errors until now.

The highlight would be the Customer Support and Development Teams. Throughout the entire journey we have been able to provide feedback and discuss our needs (even beyond classic ETL) with Kleene's Customer Success Team. And they have been super efficient in providing answers and/or solutions.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

The SQL console still needs work. It lacks visual space in my opinion. Double console option (like Bigquery) would be great as well.
I've also experienced some periods where Kleene was down, although they were not long.

Having the main data sources in one place, allowing for quicker and more complex analysis coming from mixed-source queries.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

The best thing about Kleene is their team, who have always been there for us when we need them, responding quickly and with helpful suggestions.

We have been using Kleene for about a year and a half now, and it has been game-changing for decision-making. Would recommend Kleene to any team who wants to become more data-driven.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Nothing really! With every software, there are minor issues every once in a while, but the Kleene team are always super quick to communicate and resolve them. They truly do listen to feedback.

Kleene has greatly improved our data reporting and has enabled us to extract information and gain insights from all of our data sources. It has helped us save time and effort from pulling data into spreadsheets, and it has been an integral part of the process of tracking our performance metrics.

We have been using Kleene for about a 6 months and the product is incredible! The team behind the operation are amazing and very supportive. I would recommend Kleene to anyone who wants to get more from their data! kleen are by far the best ELT platform I have come across.

There has been times when the app has been down, however, Kleene are quick to respond to any queries and get the app back up and running!

Kleene has enabled us to free up 60 hours worth of analyst time each week by automating our reports. This free time allows the analysts to find new insights and drive performance throughout the business.

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

We had no BI in place before we started using Kleene. Their customer success team helped us put a plan in place and set a deadline. We had a mix of requirements regarding connectors, some were "out of the box", but others needed to be built. Communication throughout the project was excellent (thanks, Daniella!). By the end of the first year, we had five connectors in place and transforms needed to visualise the data in Looker. 
Now on our second year and still happy customers.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

I don't see any downsides on using Kleene. I'd say that a great addition would be a staging environment as you end up doing all the work in production (though you can create different schemas).

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to cross-reference data coming from different platforms has been a game changer for us. Now that Kleene analysts have transformed the data, we can import it to Looker and have any user in the company access the necessary information to boost their performance

**What do you like best about Kleene?**

The ability to request and build entirely new bespoke connectors, not just off the shelf. Comes with excellent built-in SQL transform capabilities. Logging feature ensures any failures in the pipelines are immediately identified and flagged. The support team is always on hand with immediate assistance and holds weekly catch-ups where we can discuss any new requests or questions about our ELT pipelines. Alongside all that, they are also incredible value for money and save us a significant amount of time to focus on delivering robust infrastructure and insightful analysis.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

Additional documentation for some of the less-used connectors would be helpful, although I am aware this is currently being built out by the team.

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They built bespoke connectors to a variety of sources across the web for us. This ensures we can keep the team lean rather than hiring many extra heads in-house to deliver the same results for an inflated cost.

Kleene is easy to use. The team is very reliable and always happy to help. It has been a big help in bringing our BI to the next level.

As with every software out there, Kleene has its own little bugs that are easily fixed as soon as reported.

Kleene is helping us to automate the entire data pipeline from ingestion to modelling and visualisation. It has a lot of available integrations, and the team is always helpful when a new integration needs to be developed.

Kleene is very easy to use. I had never used a data warehouse before and Kleene has made my introduction very smooth. The layout of the app is straightforward and it performs well. Any queries are dealt with by the team who are all lovely to work with.

There have been a few bumps in the road with connectors and communication, but they have always taken feedback on board and have massively grown and improved their offering in the time we've been with them.

It makes harnessing and tidying up data very easy, accessing your databases and tables is very straightforward, and it has saved so much time as I don't have to worry about how to connect to the APIs (or lack thereof) of all our systems, they handle the connecting and leave me to focus on using the data.

Connectors for various data sources, ability to transform/pre-process data for reducing computational time. The support from the team is great.

**What do you dislike about Kleene?**

One downside of using a third party to store and process your data is the response time in case of an emergency. Although, we did not have any issue with that, as Kleene's support team is very responsive to our requests.

**What problems is Kleene solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kleene has helped us to reduce the cost from a data engineering point of view with the external connectors.  Also, with the pre-processing functionality, we reduce computational time and overall cost.

Great personalised service, our analyst has been super responsive and helpful.  Kleene has made connection to lots of APIs + building a robust reporting structure very simple, and we are in a great place 12 months down the line.

We were early adopters, so we were probably guinea pigs for certain aspects of the BYW process, but 100% worth it in my opinion!

lack of commitment to deadlines, lack of understanding of data design, lack of customer service...

It didn't solve even a problem in the end we just lost money.
