I went from a dedicated server at Heart Internet to Kinsta and the speed increase was just incredible. I didn't realise how quick Wordpress could be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The email serving cut out after we published a blog post going out to 90 people because it flagged as spam. It meant that we missed emails informing us of orders which wasn't great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The staging feature is better than any I've used. The speed and security are a given. The interface is simple, and makes keeping track of multiple sites a breeze. The backup feature is easy to keep track of and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside is the price. I personally think it's worth it for most, but not all businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've experienced a number of different hosting providers in the decade or so I've been working in web dev, and Kinsta has definitely been one of my favourites.
Their inbound marketing content is actually helpful and easy to consume (rather than just being optimised for SEO), and their customer support is quick and helpful in their responses.
That said, my favourite part about Kinsta is the UI/UX of their product - it's just really easy to use intuitively. You get your head around it quickly with a short learning curve, which is nice if you're used to working with cPanel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I actually haven't had a single problem with Kinsta so far. They're a lot more expensive than many other hosting providers, but you also get a better tech infrastructure and great support because of that.
Note that we've only been with Kinsta for this particular project for just under 6 months and we're growing our traffic slowly. So, I can't speak for how we'll go with upgrading our plan and handling traffic spikes just yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most is the fact that I was able to cut several plugins when moving to Kinsta, since things like cache plugin and backup are built-in. Add to that built-in CDN and you also have a service that you usually have to pay separately. The support is also great and try to do their best when assisting you with a question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not really an issue, but I guess having an 24/7 support available would be great (they didn't the last time I used it). However, considering I am not using some kind of enterprise plan, I can't really complain! Other than that, everything is really great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the performance of the overall site and speed, I like staging environment option, the full control to manage various server features, knowledgeable chat support, and scalability. The support blogs post are complete and well written which have answered many question I would have otherwise spent a few hours researching, so this is an added bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would say the customer service availability has been spotty at times with longer than desirable wait times, but the blog and knowledge base section is nearly complete with answers to many questions. I understand the trade off of receiving a fast website / premium hosting product at an affordable price and giving up live phone support but the it would be nice if the chat wait time was reduced. Kinsta the provider that really cares about each of its customers, from my point of view, Kinsta offers you useful and fast tools to manage a website in Wordpress. I love the MyKinsta dashboard, it is very intuitive, functional and fast, I also like the option of being able to contact support through the intercom chat. The support is effective and ultra fast. The prices are fair and the knowledge base is very comprehensive and contains useful information. I highly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to download a full copy of my website to my pc, which is not possible with Kinsta. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kinsta will set you up with a WordPress instance. It provides the latest PHP version for speed, a tailored and effective control panel, ssh/scp access, and very helpful support staff.
They also offer a free migration per site, to help you move onto their platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kinsta is expensive, especially compared to other shared hosting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like their fast hosting, performance and support, there are very reactive to help you to modified server setting and give advice. They provide a lot of good information thought their blog. The backup feature is amazing, it give you the possibility to do some change on your website and if there's a problem to rollback easily. The Staging server feature is very great to do some testing before upgrading Wordpress or test new plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't see any downsides using Kinsta, there only benefits using their hosting, all my sites and client websites running on Kinsta. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I loved the fast performance, good looking dashboard and great customer service. I also liked the analytical details the platform provides. In addition to that I also like that the CDN performance is good. I have not had any issue with the uptime on the platform either. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A little expensive for 1 wordpress website with little pageviews, only one WP install in starter plan Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After spending many years frustrated with other hosting providers, Kinsta has been an amazing experience. The user interface for handling every aspect of the server is extremely well done. And anything that cannot be done via the dashboard their 24 live chat support is by far the best tech support I have experienced from any tech company. On top of all that the server is fast and reliable!
In addition - their blog is amazing. If you are using WordPress to run your business you should definitely check it out. They have many insightful articles on how to get the most out of the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In order to get 4 PHP Workers you need to be on the $100 / month plan. I understand their business model - but it would be good if they offered more workers at the lower-priced plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a great hosting package which has a lot of scalability for our future needs. They have excellent support who are on hand to help with the most minor or serious issue. We have used other hosting providers before and Kinsta were recommended to us and since changing hosting provider Kinsta has really helped our business reach its potential . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Obviously they are not the cheapest and there are other managed hosting providers out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's as though the folks at Kinsta tried every other hosting company and then thought to themselves "hmmm... what could we do better"? Everythnig about the product experience, the around the clock customer support and the useful content they produce makes for the best possible hosting experience.
But by far, the best thing is their infrastructure for managing the websites as well as how it is layered on top of the biggest and baddest ass hosting platform in the world, Google Cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far not a thing. Everything has been seamless for the last 5 years I have been with them hosting various sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kinsta's modern interface is super slick and easy to use, but their real crowning glory is their exceptional support which is never more than a minute away and always completely on point with resolving any issues or questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kinsta is a little on the pricier side, but you pay for what you get! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I (Ahmad Awais) have moved most of my WordPress sites to Kinsta and I couldn’t be happier. The traffic is at the all-time high, Kinsta deals with the traffic spikes very well. Moreover, the speed of my WordPress sites has increased two to three folds. AhmadAwais.com is hosted on Kinsta.
One of the best things that happened after I migrated to Kinsta was my organic traffic and keyword rankings at Google increased. That was the prime factor of traffic increase. At one of my sites, the traffic literally just doubled. I'm super happy with this Kinsta Effect.
One of my sites got hacked. I didn't know. Kinsta support reached out. They had figured it out automagically. They asked for my permission and then went ahead, cleaned the malware, for FREE. Yes, you heard it right. They have real WordPress engineers available for customer support.
Appreciate all the effort, Tom, Mark, and Daniel have put into building Kinsta. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike anything about Kinsta. They deliver and over-deliver on their promises.
I do have a wishlist. I wish I could install Node.js, host JAMstack sites, and expose public APIs. Also having some sort of serverless approach to WordPress would go a long way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The overall value for agencies, developers and our clients is huge. Kinsta is the default hosting option for all WordPress sites that we build.
Our favorite things:
- Excellent server/site performance
- Fantastic custom control panel and developer tools
- Takes care of critical issues we don't want to spend our time on and/or complicate WP installs with a bunch of extra Plugins -- especially for most WP-based marketing sites (e.g., WP security, server security, firewalls, server-side caching, backups, transactional email, etc.)
- Solid technical support
Bonus: it even handles sites that we thought may not perform well, because they are resource-intensive sites. Kinsta seems to have it figured out though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Extra billing based on traffic. This is a nitpick for sure. This is only a "dislike" because it can be a difficult sell to (some) clients. From a developer perspective, I understand the need to charge sites based on usage (and this is how Google Cloud would be charging Kinsta). And... it seems that Kinsta handles this really well as far as how they notify clients, add extra fees, etc. This could be a really tough operational task when it comes to customer happiness and I'm not sure what I would do to make it better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the staging feature, the support and it's easy to implement.
Took us one day to implement the company website and our blog and the support was great, they answer really fast
The back up and restore functions are also a great feature and it's very easy to use.
And my websites are more secure now than on the previous hosting.
And finally, like I said before, the support it's great, they respond really fast to my chat requests when I have a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The dashboard should be more complete, with more detail about the website visits and more filters like show just one day or from date X to Y, export data, analysis by country, etc
The domain set up could be easier.
Also it's a bit pricey, what makes the scalability a problem, but it's cheaper than having a dedicated engineer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kinsta is a container driven hosting platform with it's own multiple layers of caching. This means you don't need to worry about WP caching plugins, it handles it all. Furthermore, the workflow of staging and production environments with the ability to deploy with the push of a button makes this an easy platform to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside to a container environment like this is the time to deploy can take several minutes. I've had a deployment take 10+ minutes to go to production. This can be inconvenient if you want to continuously deploy amongst multiple teams. I also find that the UI is not very intuitive at first if you're used to real world CI workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Instant and super good service, way beyond what you could normally expect from a hosting company. Kinsta has been honest about being ~5 times more expensive than the most popular hosting companies for a single simple Wordpress site, and I hugely appreciate that honesty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much to dislike! I happily pay 30 USD for hosting now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've found support to always be incredibly responsive and I've never had issues with site downtime or slow loading times like I've encountered on other hosts. Also, the dashboard is beautiful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really wish Kinsta had some kind of client-handoff type of install where you could transfer billing to a client or a similar service like some managed WordPress hosts have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to separate my client accounts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price for 1 or 2 sites is a bit high Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their customer service is the best I've dealt with when it comes to a hosting company. If I ever have a question or need assistance I know I can reach them by chat and they will respond immediately! Since I've been using them I have not had any issues with my website or experienced any down time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. I have no dislikes about their service. We're very happy! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Where Kinsta shines is support. I have worked with a lot of hosts and Kinsta is by far the best in being responsive and handling issues via their support chat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. Everything is great. I cant think of a thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All that previously needed to be connected with additional plugins and services, Kinsta offers by default! Excellent caching system and CDN which make the site very fast. The staging system is great too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price is high. But if you connect third-party services to speed up the work of the site, the same amount will most likely come out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kinsta has a very nice UI, the speeds are very fast, and their customer service is excellent. It has very much been a white glove service, from initial transfer to helping us solve problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Because they optimize for speed, there are blacklisted apps and a few other things that aren't available. Overall, it's probably a good thing though since they remove these things for speed issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Great performance and excellent, responsive support. As a managed WordPress provider, a lot of the performance tuning that you would be trying to implement on your own in the case of a lower-end provider is taken care of here. The ability to clone a site back and forth between a staging environment, to make multiple changes before pushing them live in one go, is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For peace of mind, I prefer that I keep a copy of my Wordpress installs offsite, in case I ned to Offsite backups cannot be made automatically. without a whitelisted plugin. Automatic backups can only be moved offsite manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
