The biggest win for us is automated collection sorting. We run three Shopify stores with thousands of SKUs, and before Kimonix our collections were either sorted manually (hours of work) or left on best-selling default, which buried new products and pushed out-of-stock variants to the top of the page. Kimonix lets us build sorting strategies that blend multiple parameters — revenue, conversion rate, inventory levels, newness, margin — rather than relying on a single metric. In practice that means our key collections stay commercially optimised without anyone touching them. Products running low on stock get deprioritised automatically, new launches get visibility without us manually pinning them, and slow movers we need to shift can be weighted up when we're clearing stock. The A/B testing on sorting strategies is something I didn't expect to use as much as I do. Being able to prove that a merchandising change actually moved conversion, rather than guessing, makes it much easier to justify decisions internally. It's also freed up genuine time for our trading team, collection maintenance that used to be a weekly manual task now runs itself, and we only step in for campaign-specific overrides (sales, gift-with-purchase pushes, seasonal launches), which the app handles well with scheduled strategies. Collection re-sorts aren't instant, there can be a delay between a strategy change and the live site updating, which is awkward mid-campaign when you want a hero product pinned now Black-box ranking logic. You set weighted parameters, but there's no clear breakdown of why a specific product landed where it did. Thin native reporting. Beyond its built-in A/B testing, analytics are limited. If you need to prove incremental revenue or defend the subscription cost to stakeholders, you'll be building that case yourself in GA4 or Shopify reports. Cost scales with catalogue size. Pricing tiers are tied to product count, so a large-SKU catalogue pays a lot even if you only actively merchandise a handful of collections. Manual merchandising doesn't scale. With a large catalogue across multiple collections, hand-sorting pages is hours of weekly work that goes stale immediately. Kimonix automates it against live data, so collections stay current without anyone dragging tiles. Hours of manual sorting reclaimed each week for higher-value work Collection pages that convert better because ranking reflects real performance Sorting by bestsellers alone is commercially naive. Shopify's default sorts optimise one metric. Kimonix blends revenue, conversion, margin and stock levels, so the products surfaced are the ones that are actually good for the business, not just popular. Overstock and dead inventory stay buried. It automatically pushes products you're heavy on and demotes low-stock or broken-size-run items, turning collection pages into a quiet inventory-clearing lever rather than a static shop window. Since we operate in a dynamic environment and a fast-moving, growing industry, it’s important to keep inventory exposure under control.
