I'm not a fan of 'Lightning Experience' - I find it very slow to respond and it's not as intuitive as 'SalesForce Classic'.

I find the revenue recognition part of Kimble easy to use and understand. Everything which you expect for different revenue streams works in a logical and easy to follow manner. We have also utilised the self-billing module to allow us to raise our monthly expense in a timely manner, meaning month end runs more smoothly then before. Amendments to costs / revenue are also very easy to enter through the system and results are as expected. This is the first time I have worked with Kimble finance and after a few initial learning curves, the system is a great tool for forecasting and seeing clearly all our costs and margins. Kimble has enabled us to manage our business in a much more focussed and efficient way. We can now manage each of our key processes in a measurable way and report on them so we understand exactly where we are as a business; where we are winning and where we are losing and need to improve. We never had a true picture of what was going on before whereas now we do and with less effort, which means we have more time for our people and our customers.
Kimble is helping drive a different ethos and behaviour within our business.
Furthermore, the business is not run by a small team in isolation any more, Kimble has allowed us to disseminate and delegate tasks effectively so that our core processes and operational are no longer in the heads of one or two people. Through implementation and ongoing use, we have received constant support from Kimble Support. Any queries have been answered and any issues found have always been worked on with urgency. The ongoing support from Pia De Almeida, Lucy Butterton and Russell Osman has been a highlight of our company working with Kimble, while at times it can be a complicated system to get used to, we cannot fault the help we've received.
We have ongoing weekly calls with Kimble Support and have done so for the past 6 months to ensure all processes are working as intended. I'm also very thankful for Russell Osman's ongoing support and time with some bugs we've been experiencing, he has put aside many hours to sit in calls and resolve issues we've had.

Upon implementation it was clear that some processes in Kimble weren't the most fluid. It was quite difficult to get our entire company onboard with using this system as at first glance it's not the most user-friendly, however we've had the ongoing support from Kimble Support to help alleviate the issues and confusion that can come with using Kimble. Now having used Kimble for 6 months, I can say that what appears to be confusing at first is just a learning curve. There's still some processes that could be improved/streamlined and Kimble Support have listened to our suggestions and are in the process of adding some new features that may benefit our company. The integration with Salesforce and our Accounting system (Sage Intacct) makes the transition from an opportunity to an actively managed project, to producing financial statements much more smooth. The ability to customize and template projects is a huge time saver, and the ability to see ongoing projects and drill down into why the projections are changing is a game changer. The integrations and migrations are still clunky. As a non-profit, there is still a lot of work to be done to handle grants (no way to appropriate overhead, no storage of the grant funds vs the release, no engagement cap, only element caps). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interfacing with other systems sometimes is not that easy to manage and consequently the data may not be consistent across all the different company information systems. Kimble is our one stop shop for all activities and processes that support project delivery. By jumping in with both feet and using it wherever possible we always know where to go to find the latest information and can leverage that to support internal and external efficiency. Whilst the data in Kimble is great and the reports in Salesforce very useful, truly interactive dash-boarding remains fairly limited. We are hopeful that Tableau and Salesforce will fill this void in the near future. Excel happily steps in where the reporting stops but fingers crossed Einstein Analytics will help remove that need. Kimble is a fantastic tool for tracking & viewing our entire companies business activities. From proposals right through to invoicing we can clearly understand the current status and forecasted positioning of all engagements.
The ability to upload documents to the Resource > My Experience tab has made my life so much easier. Now I have a directory of files with which both workers and I (as admin) can access and edit. The most important part is having the vast majority of company information in one flexible place. I also enjoy constant stream of improvements for this app.
I really enjoy it's how customizable it is and how many different types on configuration elements, projects it supports.

1. Legacy UI elements
Constant stream of updates means that old and new functionalities coexist next to each other. This is good. What is not good is that they sometimes have different UIs and adhere to different UI guidelines.
2020 UPDATE: this can still be an issue, but it looks like lightning will solve this.
2. System limits
Additionally, sometimes the limits of the system are a bit unclear - especially for larger configurations, projects etc. We have to learn them on the fly. However, this is more inherent of Salesforce itself, as far as I know. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The resource schedule, especially the usage view, helps to make sure our team is deployed effectively. The Operational Management dashboard also helps us to understand the resource burn ensuring the profitability and efficiency when completing a project.

I like the all round flexibility of the tool. When we compare this to our legacy tool it's streets ahead of the game and provides us with detail visibility across all sectors. UI is great as is usability. We compared this against 4-5 market competitors before moving ahead with Kimble around 2 years ago. Great support and ongoing training from the Kimble Team. Useability is great with Salesforce and the tool gives us the detailed view we want over our PS Team from Planning, to revenue/forecasting to timesheets and now invoicing. When we founded our company, we planned to grow very rapidly. We wanted the tools in place to support that and that’s why we implemented Kimble right from the start. It has helped us manage exceptional growth without increasing the administrative burden. And we can carry on expanding like this - there is no capacity limit. We are still growing into Kimble - it has capacities we are not yet using. Onboarding is a standard challenge and we are always working on ways to make it easier for everyone. From our point of view, Kimble is robust, but it can be an issue to get new people to understand why it is so important that they put information into Kimble.

There is a standard deck of reports and dashboards that we have use as a guide for customization. Which has been very helpful to quickly get the information the business needs to assess the project pipeline and costs.

Kimble provides a centralized view of an organization from end to end and without it we wouldn't be able to operate at the speed and pace that we have been able to since implementing it over 12 months ago.
The out of the box reports and dashboards are easily configurable, detailed and effective, enabling decisions to be made at an executive level down to maintaining a clean and current database at an administrator level.
The support team are helpful, easy to work with and remove any issues you may encounter so you can continue with your task.

Like any complex tool it takes a while to learn the quirks and terminology. Kimble helps reduce the learning time by providing detailed and helpful documentation easily accessible from each page. The one thing we haven't been able to fix or work around is the speed it takes for a page to load. Improving the speed would in turn improve our ability to use the tool. Strong capabilities to drive success in a PS business. As a systems integrator, we need a solution to manage 100+ projects at a time. We love the time and expense entry including the mobile apps. The reporting and analytics engine is very powerful and once we understand the data model we will have great tools to manage our business in realtime. The ability to model the business and automate proposal and engagement creation saves hours of time especially once we win the deal. The supplier self-billing module still needs work. Many screens where data is missing cannot be changed. Kimble doesn't provide an updated data model and dictionary that we can understand how to report on what we want. Kimble doesn't give customer full configuration access once you go-live. Not a dislike, more of a warning. If you don't follow your processes, then Kimble can be hard to unpick due to all the controls it has applied for you. A data error, which has been approved and then locked down in a closed reporting period will take a lot of effort to fix!
