Kilo is the all-in-one open source AI engineering platform. One agent follows your work everywhere: VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, the CLI, cloud agents, and Slack. Sessions sync across surfaces, so you can start a task on your phone and finish it in your IDE. Kilo is model agnostic by design. The Kilo Gateway gives you access to 500+ models — frontier, open weight, or local — at provider pricing with zero markup. Bring your own API keys or let Auto Model route each task to the right model for your budget. No lock-in, no silent model switching. Beyond code generation, Kilo covers the full engineering workflow: specialized agent modes (Code, Architect, Debug, Ask, Local reviewer and custom), inline autocomplete, automated AI code reviews on pull requests, a security agent, parallel isolated worktrees, and MCP support. Teams get pooled credits, unified billing, usage analytics, and enterprise data privacy controls. Everything is open source under the MIT license. You can inspect the prompts, see the full context window on every request, fork it, or self-host it. Kilo Code is free to use. Pay only for AI inference — pay as you go, subscribe with Kilo Pass for bonus credits, or use free models at no cost. 3M+ developers use Kilo, with 40T+ tokens processed.
