Kickstart Literacy is a supplemental preschool literacy curriculum designed to help early childhood programs deliver structured, science of reading–aligned instruction to children ages 3–5. It is used by private child care centers, Head Start programs, and pre-K classrooms to strengthen foundational literacy skills prior to kindergarten.
The curriculum provides 180 short, 20-minute lessons organized in a consistent three-part format. Instruction focuses on phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, vocabulary, and early writing through developmentally appropriate, play-based experiences. Kickstart Literacy is implemented alongside a program’s core curriculum to provide a dedicated, systematic literacy block within the existing school day.
Key features:
Structured daily literacy lessons designed for preschool and pre-K classrooms
Explicit instruction in foundational early reading skills
Consistent lesson routines that support classroom-wide implementation
Classroom materials and teacher guidance to support daily delivery
Alignment with early learning standards and kindergarten readiness goals
Kickstart Literacy supports programs seeking a clear, structured approach to early literacy instruction without adding separate systems or complexity around implementation.
