## Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) Reviews
  ### 1. Great tool for finding KOLs by city

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)?**

I am a product lead at a software company unrelated to healthcare but we use Key Opinion Leaders to identify areas (cities, states) with high activity in certain areas or business verticals and then use that intel to do market research on upcoming events related to those verticals in specific cities. We use this as input to design our marketing efforts and budget allocations. So far our effectiveness seems to have improved by a lot and are getting a lot of leads that are converting at a higher rate.

**What do you dislike about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)?**

I wish I could filter by arbitrary concepts instead of the predefined options in the UI

**Recommendations to others considering Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs):**

Use the filtering capabilities

**What problems is Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What we learned: KOLs can be really useful for market research, especially if you don't have a lot of resources. You can identify areas of high activity and then use that information to plan your marketing efforts. This can help you get more leads and convert them at a higher rate.

  ### 2. Great for finding relevant KOLs in niche concepts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adriana C. | Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)?**

As a researcher, I really like to be able to find opinion leaders and influencers with a good reputation in niche topics and scientific concepts. The filters are useful to narrow down the search geographically and by organization or by affiliations. The insights and the related concepts features are awesome for finding thought leaders in closely related areas with ease.

**What do you dislike about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)?**

nothing really, this tool reduces our turnaround times and workload by a lot, so we are really happy with it.

**Recommendations to others considering Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs):**

git it a try, the free version is powerful enough.

**What problems is Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manually finding opinion leaders is really hard, especially in academia. The most significant benefit of this tool is the ability to quickly find experts already classified and ranked by level of influence and impact; this means that we no longer have to read tons of papers and manually track/organize their relevance (massive time and effort saving)

  ### 3. Key opinion leader insights. We use it to understand what researchers are the most knowledgeable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayela M. | Senior Researcher

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)?**

For context: I am a researcher working at one of the leading cancer research centers in the US. My area of research is relatively new (gene therapy, CAR-T, etc.), and it is often difficult to know which researcher knows about what, especially if the colleagues in question live in a different country. The only way to have that kind of visibility on "who is who" would be to read all the research papers that come out, which would be more than a full-time job.

With this platform (key opinion leader), I can do a couple of things: 1) I can look up colleagues by name and see what level of recognition (numerically) they have for specific concepts (KOL score, they call it), and 2) I can look up concepts (therapies, techniques, devices, medical conditions) and see who are the top leading experts (they call them KOLs or KOL in the platform) for that specific concept.

I can then filter by organization and find the thought leaders/doctors/researchers that would be easy for me to reach.

I can apply filters to filter down the list of key opinion leader until I get to the exact list of KOLs I need.

I haven't seen any other tool that lets me do that. I love that it is free, so I didn't have to ask the department to purchase anything, which I imagine would have been a long process.

Everyone in our research department uses this tool instead of the traditional research publications repositories as it aggregates data and scores at the "people level" (KOL scores) instead of just citations for papers authored (as pubmed, etc.).

**What do you dislike about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)?**

nothing I can think of really, the tool is accurate and free

**What problems is Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

finding who knows about what and being able to compare other key opinion leaders on an equal basis (numeric score) for a concept. We use this tool to understand who knows about what without having to read all the papers that come out. It is a big time saver and our productivity has increased.

  ### 4. Helped us find subject matter experts for our partnership team.

**What problems is Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We spend less time "blindly prospecting" on Google, Linkedin, and sometimes unreliable or expensive contact lists.
