"Flexible with Seamless Integrations but Complex Setup"

3.5/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

I like the flexibility that Kentico offers. The wide range of integrations is a big plus as well, since it makes it easy to build connected digital experiences without starting from scratch. This flexibility and these integrations save time and make the builds more powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

I can say that complexity. It can have a steeper learning curve when more involves setup process, compared to simpler CMS platforms, which can slow down onboarding. So a more streamlined admin interface and better out of the box configuration would make it more accessible for a smaller team item. I would say challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

Response from Jonathan Kentico of Kentico

[Editedit](https://www.g2.com/survey_responses/kentico-review-12639846/official_response/edit)

The closest thing we have to a fast on-ramp is the Business user learning map for editors plus the developer kickstart next steps for the technical team. Paired with the free Kbank demo environment, a new team can get hands-on with a realistic project inside a day or two, which shortens the onboarding window meaningfully.

On the "better out-of-the-box configuration" ask — that's a direct product signal and exactly the kind of feedback that shapes our roadmap. The Kentico Community Q&A is where our product team sees these threads, so if you want to dig into specific admin UI moments that felt overcomplicated, that's where to raise them.

"Flexible, Code-First CMS That Empowers Client Sites"

4/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

As a content management system, I love the flexibility I can provide clients. As a developer, I love the code first approach that enables me to craft sites I using my favourite tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

I don’t like that it doesn’t include as many features as the previous versions but it is getting there with constant refreshes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps provide a content management solution for our clients and in some instances, it is a good marketing tool for then Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

On the feature parity point with previous versions: that's a well-calibrated take, and you're right that constant refreshes are how we're closing the gap. Our feature-by-feature migration strategy guide is worth bookmarking — it shows what's in XbyK now, what's on the roadmap, and what the effort looks like for anything you're considering bringing over from KX13. The changelog is where every refresh lands, and the cadence has been deliberate. If there's a specific KX13 feature you or your clients rely on that still feels missing, the Kentico Community is where those threads get traction with our product team. Roadmap asks posted there get read.

"Really Easy Localisation & Email Content Re-use, Domain Caveat"

4/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

Kentico makes multilingual work feel refreshingly simple: localisation is intuitive, the admin desk is easy to navigate, and I love being able to repurpose website content straight into email campaigns without duplicating copy or assets. For teams juggling multiple markets, that “one source, many channels” approach saves serious time and keeps messaging consistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

My one gripe is the limitation around domains—you can’t assign a different domain per language within the same channel—which can be restrictive for certain international SEO or market setups. Overall, though, Kentico delivers a productive editor experience and strong content operations, with just that domain constraint to keep in mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

Kentico solves the complexity of running content across 20+ countries by centralising everything in one place—so multilingual pages, assets, and updates are easy to find, maintain, and keep consistent. Instead of chasing versions in different drives or CMSs, I can manage culture variants side by side, reuse components, and push changes globally (or to selected markets) in a few clicks. That means faster rollouts for new content, fewer copy-paste errors, and simpler governance—freeing the team to focus on quality and localisation, not admin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We're especially glad to hear that Kentico’s localization capabilities and content reusability are streamlining your workflows across markets—exactly the kind of scalable, centralized content operations we aim to support.

You bring up a valid point about the domain limitation for multilingual setups. While Kentico does allow for multiple sites and languages, assigning unique domains per language within a single site isn't currently supported out of the box. That said, there are some workarounds using multi-site configurations or custom URL routing that can help align with international SEO strategies. If you'd like guidance on that, our support team is happy to advise based on your setup.

"Awesome product with good support and stable fixes"

3/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

Its been around for 20 years, always ever getting better.

Be it Page management, Custom modules or the settings application along with the option of customization Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

When the customization gets too tricky and not supported by their documentation, it needs a paid consultation which is a bit costly for us as developers :( Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

Its easy to use, easy to manage content and always there's room for customization if the defacto doesn't suits your requirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Kentico UI Makes Website Updates Fast and Easy"

4/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

Having used Wordpress and Drupal, Kentico's UI is extremely intuitive. It's easy and quick to make an update to our website, and with the help of a developer, we can customize our widgets to personalize our brand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

I wish you could upload images and files directly in the editor instead of having to open a new tab and go to the content hub first. I also wish you could natively export form data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

We migrated our Sitecore site to Kentico in 2025 and it was an easy process with a 1 to 1 migration of our files in to an identical structure within Kentico. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Your image upload feedback is actionable, and there's a good news update: Xperience by Kentico supports smart drag-and-drop asset upload directly from widgets — including the Image widget and Rich text widget — without switching to the Content hub tab first. Files still end up stored as reusable assets in the Content hub behind the scenes, but you don't have to leave the editor to put them there. Full details and the list of supported upload zones are in the Manage files in Xperience guide. If your team isn't seeing those zones appear, it's worth checking with your developer or our support — it may just need the right content type configuration.

On native form data export: that's a fair ask. The forms documentation covers the current submission handling, and the Kentico Community Q&A is the right place to raise the export request directly with our product team.

"Flexible and scalable CMS platform with a bit of a learning curve"

4/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

The best part about Kentico for me is the modular component setup. It’s very helpful when you're building out a bunch of pages as you can just drag and drop different components, reuse them across the site, and then edit the configuration to make them appear slightly different. After that you can just drop in the content copy and images and away you go. It saved me a lot of time and keeps the UI and UX consistent. I'm not overly technical, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use. You can also set up email responses, flexible forms, metadata and tagging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

As mentioned in the subject line, there is a bit of a learning curve. However, after a week or so and getting familiar with the navigation, it becomes second nature. I feel some of the admin interface could do with smartening up and perhaps some more tool tips or smart search would be helpful. Scheduling tasks was one area that could also do with simplifying as we ran into one or two issues initially when setting this up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

Kentico helps us manage a lot of content across different pages seamlessly. The way it lets us reuse components and templates means we don’t have to rebuild stuff every time. We just drop and go. It also makes it easier to keep layouts consistent. Overall, it’s helped us work faster and keep everything more organised, which is great when you're working to project deadlines. You're absolutely right that there’s a bit of a learning curve, especially around scheduling and some parts of the admin UI. Your suggestions for more tooltips and improved smart search are spot on — those kinds of enhancements make a big difference for day-to-day usability and are areas we’re continuously improving.

"Robust, Customizable CMS with Easy Integration"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

I like that Kentico is a robust platform that allows us to build whatever our clients need. It's secure, reliable, and customizable, which is perfect for a mid-market .NET CMS. The best part is how easy it is to connect Kentico with other tools and software for more robust technology stacks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

Confusing licensing pricing from our clients perspective, could be much more transparent and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pricing in a platform like ours can feel complex because it mirrors the reality of what you’re building. You’re not buying a fixed product—you’re combining channels, features, and capabilities that can evolve over time. That flexibility is powerful, but it can also make pricing harder to explain upfront.

That’s exactly why we recently introduced a new How to Buy approach. Instead of starting from a blank page, you now have a clearer structure built around a few key building blocks:

- Channels (what you’re running today and tomorrow)

- License tiers (based on your level of sophistication)

- AIRA packages (flexible AI usage you can scale as needed)

- Deployment options (SaaS or private cloud)

For example, AIRA packages let you start with a defined monthly allocation and expand as your needs grow, rather than committing to something rigid from day one . It won’t remove all complexity—because every project is different—but it should make pricing conversations more predictable and easier to structure, especially with clients who want clarity early on.

"Kentico — Made for Marketers; Not Recommended for On Prem Deployment"

3/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

I really like all of the various marketing tools that Kentico's products provide. It's incredibly easy to create pages, organize content, and create a truly special and dynamic website made for various audiences. Kentico also offers many marketing tools we do not use, such as email automation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kentico?

I dislike the uncertain future of using Kentico as an on prem solution. Xperience 13 is a quality product that we have been able to use exceptionally well within our organization. With the sunsetting of support for Xperience 13, we are being put in a situation where we have to move our content to Xperience by Kentico. Xperience by Kentico is missing many things that Xperience 13 has and it functions differently from a structural standpoint. It is frustrating to have a product we like so well and then be forced to move to a new product that we're not even sure we can use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kentico solving and how is that benefiting you?

Thank you for sharing your experience, it’s great to hear how effective Xperience 13 has been for your team, especially in delivering personalized, multi-site experiences with strong marketing capabilities. Regarding your concerns about moving to Xperience by Kentico: while it’s true that the platform introduces a new architecture and some features are still evolving, we want to clarify that on-premise deployment is still supported. Xperience by Kentico is cloud-native by design, but it offers flexible hosting options, including on-premise and self-managed environments, to meet different infrastructure needs. We understand that transitions like this raise important questions, and we’re here to support you. Our roadmap continues to focus on closing feature gaps and improving migration paths. You can stay updated via our Product Roadmap or connect with our team or your Kentico partner to explore the best path forward based on your specific setup.

If the "outdated" feeling is coming from your site being behind current releases, our changelog and security advisories pages are the two most useful things to hand to whoever is managing your hosting — the advisories page lists every security issue we've disclosed and the version that fixes it.

If you're on Kentico Xperience 13 and the audit findings are pushing you to evaluate what "current" should look like, the upgrade overview to Xperience by Kentico walks through the process feature-by-feature, including the migration tool. That's worth reviewing with your website host before committing to a remediation plan — the effort shape is very different depending on which parts of KX13 you actually use.

"Robust DXP for Content Management and Marketing"

5/5

What do you like best about Kentico?

I find Kentico to be one of the best DXP platforms. It really helps with managing content efficiently, which is a big plus for me. I like its robust marketing and CMS tools because they give more exposure in terms of content marketing. I appreciate that it is a robust platform comparable to others, offering more UI and UX experiences. Although the initial setup was tough, it's now very feasible. What do you dislike about Kentico?
