It is very important for me to be able to see truck fault codes, as well as having a Wi-Fi hotspot, which allows me to use the logbook without having to buy a separate data plan from a carrier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Sometimes in the Fleet View menu, when I’m looking at a specific truck and click the back button, it takes me to the Fleet View - Vehicles page instead of Fleet View - Live. This was a bit confusing when I first started using Motive, but I’ve gotten used to it now Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you? It’s hard to pick just one feature, but as a fleet manager, it’s crucial for me to be able to view a truck's trip history, and of course, the video footage. Thanks to the cameras, I can review recordings to understand what happened during an incident or in any situation where information from the driver isn't enough. The fuel level feature has also helped me out more than once, and being able to check truck fault codes helps clear up a lot of details. I’d say these are the tools I use daily, and they give me the highest efficiency. Additionally, I integrate the Motive API into our internal software. It is used exclusively in-house for a small fleet of 30 trucks, but it has been incredibly helpful for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I like that there has never once been a single glitch or an incident that was missed. Our drivers like them now because they like the challenge of improving their scores. I think the biggest downside has just been the times that the camera catches things that are not "real" - like stop signs that dont exist notifications. Also, the scoring system seems a tiny bit "off" - a driver with 1 notification might get a lower score then a driver with 4 notifications, even when the 1 notification was not a high-risk event. I like the ease with which the platform is managed on PC and mobile devices. I also appreciate the handling of reports and the creation of geofences, which makes it much easier to find a box and know the location, as well as that of a truck or even an operator. Additionally, I found that the initial setup was super easy and very accessible both for me and my coworkers, even for new staff who had never used a tracking platform before. The AI event detection from the cameras seems very accurate, and the notifications we receive are helpful for identifying issues. The GPS tracking also appears to be very accurate and performance meets our needs. The pricing was all inclusive and much more affordable than our previous provider. We are fairly new to the software but really haven't noticed many down sides. The one event it has trouble detecting is stop sign violations. Having used the platform from both the driver side and the entity side, I’ve seen firsthand how it helps balance the power dynamic. It creates a “single source of truth” that supports accountability. The interface is intuitive, so it doesn’t get in the way of doing the job, while the monitoring is accurate enough to make anyone want to “act right” on the road immediately. I like that the vehicle history is accurate, and I also appreciate how dynamic and customizable the app is overall. You’re able to customize inspections, driver DQ files, and exemptions, and you can keep groups of drivers separated from others. At times the app loses signal, and when it does, there aren’t any ETAs available. On top of that, the dispatching software doesn’t work very well for me when I need to send out routes with more than five stops at once, which makes it more difficult to plan and manage those routes effectively. The dash cameras are great quality, and pulling the videos is easy and quick. The AI assistant also opens up a wider range of opportunities with each tool, since they all do something different, and the AI assistant is able to explain everything clearly. I use Motive to track our fleet of 500 ready-mixed vehicles. I really appreciate the versatility it offers, providing a lot of information from vehicles which allows for effectively segregating vehicles under the correct supervisors and fleet managers. Motive helps us on the logistics front and offers a secondary means of tracking our vehicles, including odometer and engine hour readings, and enables preventative maintenance. I like how it simplifies sending out fuel and fault codes directly to our mechanic, saving time by not having to use diagnostic computers. The device hub is also really useful in efficiently tracking down vehicles with installation problems or those no longer recording, and I know it helps others by allowing them to request videos during safety events, providing insights into driver performance for supervisors and ops managers. I also appreciate how Motive supported our transition, by providing a knowledgeable individual who smoothed the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Motive? I find that some of the challenges with Motive are in the reporting. Some of the reports don't match up, and there are gaps where vehicles labeled under a group might not be included in the report. Also, sometimes the analytics report doesn't actually generate. I believe that something could be improved in the analytics report, especially when doing a scheduled report. It helps with logistics and preventative maintenance by allowing us to send fault codes directly to mechanics, saving time. I like the simplicity of the dashboard as well as the driver app. Our drivers had zero issues with the transition when we switched to Motive. What do you dislike about Motive? I wouldn't say I dislike anything really. It would be helpful if Motive had a screen sharing option instead of having to download a 3rd party app to be able to see the driver's screens. App integrations have been easy to navigate though.
