Therefore you can personally verify there are no backdoors. Doesn't cost anything so saves you money! DIY-ethos. Rather than storing information in the cloud which can be dangerous, you can store your passwords locally and then if you want to use cloud-storage to store the encrypted database file. Full control over the encryption. Password generation utility is solid. Ability to use any file as a 'key' file as an authentication method. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about KeePass? Other than the Windows client you often find yourself relying on third-party clients to access your database. This comes with potential security risks and is not very convenient either as not all of them are free. No built-in autofill feature like other password managers. Recommendations to others considering KeePass: If you value total-control and price over convenience, this may be better than other password management services out there. Allowed me to switch from using one password for everything to a different password for every service that I use. I like that it's free! That's the major draw of Keepass. You can quickly create very strong passwords and keep them organized. The interface is straight forward. Everything with this password manager is completely manual besides the password generation. But a shortage of features is to be expected, it's a free open source project after all. Ended up with 1Password for Teams, due to seamless browsers integration, and cloud syncs for vaults.
