Also in the script tab, we can update the code based on our need We can include iteration, branching, and Password masking using a decryption mechanism. The best one out of Katalon is customization, Self Healing test is the key feature that comes with a single click and especially in the Flaky UI environment, this option will be a savior for any UI automation tester, instead of being blamed that UI automation is not reliable. Report integration with testOps will give the best executive summary. Integration of BDD framework is another plus however, needs better reporting for BDD which can be achieved using extent reporting. In extent we can get both Executive summary as well as individual Feature level reporting **What do you dislike about Katalon?** 1. To use Katalon TestOps reporting, we need to only use Test Suite Run, This cannot be integrated with BDD framework 2. Katalon crashes quite often (May be a version issue) 3. In built integration with Azure Platform, however, it needs Azure Test Plan to be subscribed to get the TestOps reporting which is 4. While navigating through the app, the elements get higlighted for which you require the locator. There is a shortcut which can be used to save the locator. You can change the setting to let Katalon know which attribute should be used by default. It also supports manual mode, making it easier to write test scripts. The Katalon Studio also has an Object repository which makes it easier to reuse the same locators. In Katalon Studio, we can create multiple test cases and include it in a Test Suite which makes the project more structured. Another good thing is that it can be used to automate test scripts for Web and Mobile applications. **What do you dislike about Katalon?** Although Katalon Studio has some great features, some of its features are not free, unlike Selenium. The locator recording feature is helpful, but it does not provide the desired XPath always. Katalon Studio only supports two languages which are Java and Groovy. Selenium supports more than these two programming languages **Recommendations to others considering Katalon:** The free version has sufficient features to let users write test scripts with ease. Help often refers to old versions. Some features which were free a year ago became paid, IMHO this is not OK, they should add new features for the paid version and not make some of the previously free features paid. **Recommendations to others considering Katalon:** I've seen no better tools. Complex, good UX, can be used for many purposes. Nice tree structure is used for organise test cases, test suites and repository. Supports headless browser tests, and supports test runs on most browsers (IE, Edge, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome). Katalon Analytics is very good, user friendly **What problems is Katalon solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ease to record, edit organise execute and review analytics of test cases.
