"Kaspersky Next Optimum: Strong Protection, Complex Reputation."

5/5

What do you like best about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

What I like best about Kaspersky Next Optimum is the level of protection it delivers without making you feel like the security tool itself is the problem. A lot of endpoint protection solution are so aggressive files, slowing down systems, or constantly throwing up warnings. Kaspesky manages to stay thorough without getting in the way, which is a balance that's harder to strike than it sounds.

The threat detection capabilities are genuinely impressive. Kaspersky has always had a strong reputation for catching malware, ransomware, and other threats, and Next Optimum lives up to that. The detection rates are consistently high and it handles both known and emerging threats well, which gives a real sense of confidence that your endpoints are actually protected.

The centralised management console is another highlight. Being able to oversee all your endpoints, push policies, review threats and manages everything from one dashboard makes administration so much more efficient. It's clean enough to navigate without feeling overwhelming, which isn't alwas the case with security platforms at htis level.

I also appreciate the vulnerability assessment and patch management features that come with Optimum. Having visibility into which systems have unpatched software or known vulnerabilities and being able to act on that quickly is something that adds real value beyond just basic antivirus protection.

And the EDR Optimum capabilities are a solid addition too. Getting that endpoint detection and response functionality without jumping up to a full enterprise tier makes it a genuinely well rounded solution for mid sized environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

One thing that comes up pretty quickly as a frustration with Kaspersky Next Optimum is the geopolitical concern surrounding the brand. Regardless of how good the product actually is technically, the controversy around Kaspersky and its ties to Russia has made a lot of organisations hesitant or outright restricted from using it especially in government or highly regulated industries. It's an uncomfortable reality that hangs over the product and affects how freely you can recommemd or deploy it.

The pricing and licensing structure can also be a bit confusing. Figuring out exactly what's included in the Optimum tier versus what requires upgrading to a higher plan isn't always straightforward, and some features you'd expect to be standard end up feeling like they're just out of reach unless you pay more.

The management console, while generally decent, can feel a bit slow and clunky t times especially when loading reports or appluing policies across a large number of endpoints. It's not a dealbreaker but it's noticeable enough to be annoying during day to day management tasks.

False positives are another pain point. Kaspersky's aggressive detection sometimes flags legitimate software or files as threats, which creates unnecessay disruption and requires manual whitelisting. for environments running specialised or custom software this can become a recurring headache.

And lastly the support experience can be inconsistent. Response times and the quality of help you get can vary quite a bit depending on the issue, and for a security product where timely support really matters, that inconsistency is more frustrating than it would be with other types of software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kaspersky Next Optimum solving and how is that benefiting you?

The core problem Kaspersky Next Optimum is solving is the growing complexity of endpoint threats in mid sized business environments. Basic antivirus just doesn't cut it anymore threats have envolved to the point where you need layered protection that can handle everything from ransomware and phishing to fileless attacks and zero day vulnerabilities. Kaspersky Next Optimum addresses that by bringing together multiple layers of protection into one manageable package without requiring a massive enterprise budget or a dedicated security team to run it'

For me personally the biggest benefit has been peace of mind around endpoint security. Knowning that every device in the environment is being actively monitored, that vulnerabilities are being flagged, and that threats are being caught before thay can cause damange is something that genuinely reduces the stress that comes with managing IT security in today's threat landscape.

The vulnerability and patch management side has been a real practical benefit. A lot of breaches happen simply beacuse systems aren't kept up to date, and having visibilty into exactly which endpoints have unpatched software and being able to address that quickly closes a gap that lot of organisations leave open without even realizing it.

The EDR capbilities have been valuable too. When something suspicious does get flagged, having the context to understand what happened, how it happened, and what was affected means you can respond faster and more confidently instead of just reacting blindly to an alert.

And from an operational efficiency standpoint centralizing all of this into one console means less time jumping between tools and more time actually staying on top of secuity rather than just managing the tools meant to provide it.

So overall Kaspersky Next Optimum is solving the problem of inadequate layered protection for growing businesses and the benefit is a more secure, more visible, and more manageable endpoint environment that doesn't require enterprise level resources to maintain. "Powerful, Cost-Effective EDR with Deep Detection and Centralized Control"

5/5

What do you like best about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

Kaspersky Next EDR Optimum stands out as one of the most compelling endpoint security solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. After deploying it across our organisation, it’s easy to see why it has earned consistent recognition in the EDR space. The detection depth is impressive. Kaspersky’s advanced disinfection technology goes a step further by actively removing fileless malware and persistent startup threats, rather than only flagging them. We use the platform across all endpoints, servers, and cloud workloads, and the single centralised console reduces operational overhead for our small security team. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is another standout capability. When we need to understand how a breach or incident originated, Kaspersky’s visual process tree and drill-down investigation graph make it practical to trace attack chains without requiring deep forensic expertise. The endpoint control features also add meaningful compliance value. Having application control (including allow-listing and execution prevention) and USB blocking centralised within the unified control console makes Kaspersky not just an EDR tool, but a more comprehensive endpoint governance platform.

Kaspersky also offers some of the most comprehensive controls over how and where our data is processed. This was recently confirmed by an independent transparency study by WKO and AV-Comparatives.

Resource efficiency in typical operation is well managed. Agents running the KES module sit at roughly 200MB of memory usage under normal conditions, which feels competitive for a solution with this level of feature depth. Cost-effectiveness relative to comparable OEMs is also notable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

While the everyday agent footprint is efficient, the advanced disinfection module is noticeably resource-heavy when it’s active. During deep remediation cycles, endpoint performance can degrade enough that affected users should ideally pause their work. Luckily, it isn’t needed very often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kaspersky Next Optimum solving and how is that benefiting you?

It gives us more than basic endpoint security. It genuinely delivers enterprise-grade endpoint detection and response capabilities, without the operational complexity or the high cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Security with Performance Caveats"

4/5

What do you like best about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

I like that Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is easy to use and update. It serves as AV and EDR protection for my organization on endpoints and servers, fulfilling my compliance needs. I use it to apply endpoint control, such as blocking USB devices with Kaspersky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

The licensing part and update for multiple locations is a challenge. Kaspersky doesn't provide licensing on a trust basis, so whenever we exceed the license count, new endpoints don't take a license. This creates a gap in security, especially with the organization's size being more than 30,000 endpoints. It's hard to define the exact license requirements as it fluctuates by 5,000 endpoints every year. Procuring an additional 5,000 licenses at once is not allowed by the procurement team. Also, Kaspersky impacts endpoint performance, particularly while scanning. During the initial setup, I found it necessary to deploy multiple update servers to sync, which was somewhat complex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kaspersky Next Optimum solving and how is that benefiting you?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business provides AV and EDR protection for endpoints and servers, helps fulfill compliance, and enables endpoint control like USB blocking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. Detect a lot of "old malware" which our previous solution can't find.

2. Help us remediate NSA cyberweapon: Equation Drug and Double Pulsar, which our previous solution only detects but can't remove them.

3. Advanced disinfection technology removes solid fileless malware and start-up running malware.

4. Low memory usage. An agent with KES module only takes 200MB memory usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

1. If you choose on-premise establishment, make sure agent connection status. If you change Kaspersky Security Center configuration, make sure using same FDQN. Using IP sometimes lose connection after upgrading and reinstalling.

2.Advanced disinfection technology spend A LOT OF pc resourse. Make sure user stop working when doing this job.

3. If you don't buy premium support, your question will pass to local Kaspersky breanch first. It takes sometimes to reply. You should buy local reseller service or premium support to get quick response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
