Product Description

A dashboard / kanban board software for Google Drive

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

Kanbanchi is a Google Drive App, meaning that dashboards will show up as files in your Google Drive, when you can organise them. For example you can put multiple dashboards into one shared folder, to make them available to several users. Many interfaces will look familiar to Google Apps users: i.e. sharing, right-click file menu etc.

If you use Google Apps (Google for work) or Google for Education, you can deploy kanbanchi across your organisation with a few clicks.

If you're interested in purchasing extra Power Features, you should understand, that our pricing is different from what most other tools offer. Paid add-ons purchased by you do not restrict your collaborators from accessing free features of Kanbanchi.

What do you like best?

This is a super easy to use software with a soft feel making it easy to manipulate to fulfill multiple purposes. It is professional whilst being dextrous enough to be adapted for running projects, meetings or day to day tasks. I love how dynamic it is and easy it is to collaborate with it. The team behind the app are also greatly knowledgable and helpful with A* customer service that is responsive to my needs as and when I need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I can't think of anything I dislike other than manipulating individual parts of the Gantt chart isn't possible making it hard to highlight certain periods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am able to plan my day easily with this tool. Using Kanbanchi I can plan a project, deliver it and then use the task timer to see where the project got stopped or sped through faster than expected. The tool has also enabled me to share with my team as a collaborative tool the things that I want or need to get done easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It's a free service, so that's a perk. But there's a lot of limitations to what it can do because of that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It's a bit clunky and could use some improvement in terms of how you can organize your project lay out and assignments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Originally was hoping to use it for project management purposes, but I basically ended up going to a google sheet instead since it was easier to lay out the project like I wanted to Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The ease with which you can use a kanban board in kanbanchi is incredible, very intuitive application that helps you organize projects and workers allowing you to divide jobs, use labels, colors, annotations and delivery dates.

Working with google drive allows you to have your data at all times with internet connection.

Allows you to have notifications for dates and delivery or revisions and so the working group can be aware of what to do at all times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It doesn't have a native mobile application so you have to use it almost every time from a computer.

I would like to be able to have private annotations or with option to give permission to see everything to whoever I need.

finding kanbanchi for the first time in g suite can be a bit difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Always use it from computers, not having a mobile application makes it a little difficult to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Personally we use it to organize ongoing projects, keep the whole team informed and tasks to be done.

has greatly improved the performance and organization of our projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

- Integration with Google Drive makes work easier.

- Due dates may be pushed to Google Calendar.

- Very intuitive and simple design so it is easy to navigate and learn unlike other kanban board applications.

- Kanban cards are customizable and editable.

- Date and time for the task may be recorded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Gantt chart is only available for the paid version but since the core features are available for free, I am okay with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make use of the free trial for the pro version. But the free version is already great in itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Kanbanchii helped me manage an event and collaborate with teammates online through a web app. It is very helpful that it is fully integrated with G Suite because we mainly use Google applications in our work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I can organize an agile board for free using Kanbanchi. It allows customizing columns, the names and the number of them as well.

It is possible to label the items with colors to differentiate the nature of each one.

The items can be fragmented in subtasks (other related items), and when the related items are marked as completed, the item to which they are related to will be also marked as completed.

Items can be marked as complete so you don't have to see the details to find out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

In the unpaid version, it doesn't allow the user to test the items.

Kanbanchi allows the user to created the board to assign the items to its user, but it doesn't let that user to assign the items to other users even if the board was shared with editing rights (at least the unpaid version).

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is ideal when you are in a personal project and need a tool to organize your workload. It is also very useful to work in teams Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

Kanbanchi has a clean and simple interface; I think that's immediately obvious to anyone who uses it.

Its integration with G Suite is a huge bonus for a lot of organizations and surely saves a lot of people plenty of headaches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The fact they chose a subscription model bothers me. I don't feel like it's necessary. The personal package totals to $96 dollars a year, the professional adds up to $240 annually. It's a fairly simple scheduling program with a fancy name from familiar business practice. However, if it saves your IT guys (or other project members) hours trying to configure other software with G Suite, I certainly think it's worth it.

The interface and the boards don't seem as pretty as they could be, but maybe that's just my lack of artistic talent shining through.

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If your organization is heavily dependent on G Suite then this is a pretty good option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I initially installed Kanbanchi while researching Kanban methods for a Six Sigma course and then revisited it later when I was hired to work on a Kanban-style scheduler for a healthcare company. For this project we used...Kanbanchi. We didn't have a lot of docs (about 3 spreadsheets and 4 company papers of varying lengths), it helped out. I imagine it could help a lot more with a larger project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Extensibility and customizability! The Drive integration and other tie-ins to the gSuite are very helpful for managing complex project simultaneously. Other features that allow users to customize their boards really set Kanbanchi apart from other options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Really wish the UI had clearer distinctions between the features that come with the free version and those that require the upgrade. This would be particularly helpful when sharing boards with colleagues/collaborators who just need to be consulted or informed on projects, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

When sharing, users must first complete the Drive integration before being able to access the board. (Unless I'm missing something?) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is simple, straight to the point and very flexible which is why it can be applied to any project. It is an interesting version of original Kanban methodology and it works bug free, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It is a bit open to all users and I think they will need to work on their user access levels. Admin should be able to lock things, even tasks otherwise a simple mistake can change or remove a task that can be critical for a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I love the visualization that this product provides. I have tried a lot of different project management tools and this by far surpasses them all.

Everything else just gives me lists where I have to view all projects or filter projects. Here, I can see every project and all the stages that it’s in.

Plus, it’s easy to see who is assigned a card, add subtasks and sub-cards, etc. plus, I can color coordinate so all my projects that belong to a particular client are all the same color! And you can even link different cards/projects together! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It’s not so much a dislike, but more of a wishing I had better control over other users’ access.

While I want everyone to be able to access the board, I wish there was a way that people could only see the cards they were assigned to.

That being said, the privacy of Google Drive allows me to make sure only those who should have access to sensitive documents are the only ones who can see it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Kanbanchi is acting as our project management solution for a publishing company. I was able to make a list for upcoming, editing, marketing, and design within our dashboard.

Now we can easily see, all in one spot without having to go through multiple screens, where our books stand. I hadn’t even thought about how it would save time waiting for new windows or pages to load! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like especially the usability. User can start w/o training to use Kanbanchi because it's almost self-explaining. Although it has all needed features complexity is rather low (I hope it will not be overloaded with "fancy features" in future...). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

would be great to have an android app in addition. And some smaller changes in UI might be useful e.g. move meta data like assigned user, start and end date,... to the top. If a task is created via mail you have to scroll down to see the mentioned fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We have to get transparency regarding tasks of our team in a easy manner. We do not like to have solutions which creates huge admin effort. What do you like best?

Overall, the system is great. I love the idea of having a dashboard where you can see tasks and quickly switch between different dashboards for projects. Visually it looks pretty good, though there is room for improvement in the slider that pops out when you click something.

- Change backgrounds

- Tags

- Start and finish date for tasks

- Comments

- Assign tasks

- Google drive integration Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

- The active areas could be a little larger when transferring tasks between lists inside of the dashboard; sometimes this is a little difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Spend some time considering different project management methods and make sure you select the right one; don't just pick Kanbanchi because it seems cool.

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Problems:

- as a personal user, I am working on solving the problem of managing graduate course responsibilities, assistantship work, and administrative tasks as well as personal goals. I've realized that Kanbanchi has increased task visibility, keeping me focused on what matters and remembering what is there to be done. This can be especially useful when compared to some task/project management systems such as Asana or todoist (I've explored and used both for a couple years).

- Clarifying tasks: It allows you to add a weight and automatically assigns percentages to your checklist

- Feeling of accomplishment: Being able to look back on what I've done.

What do you like best?

What do you dislike?

On a smartphone, the tool doesn't feel as optimised as it should be. It's usable to an extent, but only for very short periods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Give it a try, you won't regret it. If you're looking for a kanban-style project management tool, I'd fully recommend Kanbanchi. It's easily my favourite out of the handful I looked into and tried out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use this at work for managing my day-to-day tasks as a web developer, and at home as a tool to plan my wedding! Being able to drag cards from one column to another to indicate whether they are to do, in progress, or done, really helps me to establish a sense of progress. At a glance, I can see where everything is. Clicking on any card instantly shows me all of the notes and links I've saved to that task, and the loading is super fast. My productivity really benefits from this snappy approach that shows me all I need to see in one view.

I'm even able to add an image to represent a card. Being able to do this is hugely helpful at work where many of my tasks have titles that don't stick with me, because many of the tasks come in and are turned over quickly - but through a visual representation, I know exactly what every card is for. As a person who seems to work more effectively with visuals than with lists of text for tasks, this tool has made my life at work a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
