The actual upscaling itself is fast and surprisingly decent, especially if you're working with simplified images (cartoons, logos, clipart, etc). It does a decent job upsizing text as well, recognizing it in a way that keeps the lines and curves clean without blurring. It seems to understand when you want to upscale pixels (like a video game sprite), vs a photo or a smooth image. Plus, there's an entry-level subscription that is free, which is always a benefit. Everything else:

1. I've never been able to use this on Chrome without it crashing. Firefox to the rescue! (I haven't tried Safari, Edge, etc.) But on Chrome, the second you choose an image, it locks up your entire session, and you need to reboot the software entirely.

2. The site is a little clunky. It's minimal, which is good, but there's not much functionality, and when you're logged or out in it's not obvious. AI has a series of other image enhancers which they don't integrate into this (which is fine, but if you've got a suite of tools, might as well cross-promote them). And you need to email them with any changes to your account - which is a little awkward when you need to do minor things like update your user password.

3. If your images are photorealistic or way too small, don't expect miracles. AI Image Enlarger upsizes them better than just increasing the file's pixel size in your software, but it's still going to be somewhat blurry.

4. There's no cache of images you've upscaled, which I know is a space hog, but I might upgrade if they did it.

5. Minor thing, but every designer/artist associates "AI" with Adobe Illustrator, so when I describe this to people I have to clarify that it's a different thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
