We were looking for the first sense of product market fit in North America for our text analytics solution before we put boots on the ground. What do you like best about JJELLYFISH?

They are an extremely polished team in their planning, testing, delivery and presentation of results. It felt like they were just as invested in Kapiches’ success and it really showed through their willingness to adapt approaches and spitball ideas to see results.

I jumped in half-way through our arrangement with Jjellyfish and thanks to Dom and Justin, I could get stuck in seamlessly with some help dusting off my old sales skills! What problems is JJELLYFISH solving and how is that benefiting you?

The US market is the largest market for any SaaS company. As a non-US company, it is essential for a company to validate critical assumptions around unmet customer needs and if our solution was the right fit for the market. We had seen companies spend a lot of money trying to unsuccessfully enter the US market without spending time validating customer problems, and if their product/service solved those problems. We were looking at partnering with a team to help us validate some of the key assumptions we had before entering the US market.

Jjellyfish helped us evaluate the US market end-to-end. Some of the key steps they helped us were in (a) Initial set up: This included activities such as framing the assumptions, mapping the competitive landscape, arriving at the ideal customer profile (b) conducting user interviews with the ideal customer profile (c) collating the data in the form of a capstone to give us an actionable GTM.

In the second half of 2019, our team was actively evaluating our strategy to enter the US Market. While all three co-founders studied in the US, we were acutely aware of how expensive mis-steps could be.

It was at this point where we got connected with Jjellyfish and we were certain that they would be the right partner for us as we expanded into the US Market.

During the last three months, we worked with them actively to better understand the US Market and really zero-in on our ICP. Every decision they took was backed by data (and experience) - we were super-happy and confident about the results.

The conclusion from our engagement was actually that the US market did not represent an attractive opportunity for our current product, at least not in the industry verticles that we engaged JJELLYFISH to understand. This insight, and the integrity of Jen and Paul to give us the right advice not just the advice that would lead to an ongoing engagement, allowed our business to make the right decisions about where to focus our time and resources. This prevented us from spending a lot of time and money on something that would ultimately not have provided as much benefit as other opportunities available to us.
