"Clean, Organized Task Tracking—But Can Feel Overwhelming for New Users"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

During my internship, Jira became the main tool our team used to keep tracked of tasks and deadlines, it helped me understanding what work was assigned to me, what was in progress, and what has already been completed. as someone new to the team, having everything organised in one place made it much easier to stay on track, i like how simple it it to update tasks and see the progress of ongoing work, the boards give a clear picture of what need attention and comments make it easy to ask questions or share without long emails, conversations. i regularly use it for tracking daily marketing tasks, following up on sales activities managing campaign checklist , coordinating with teammates , updating tasks progress, meeting projects deadlines, sharing files and notes, the interface is clean and easy to understand, after a short learning period, i was comfortable creating tasks, updating statuses, and finding the information i needed, the interface is clean and easy to understand, after a short learning period, i was comfortable creating tasks, updating statuses, and finding the information i needed, its integration with Google workspace ,and agentforce sales keep project information connected across different teams. What do you dislike about Jira?

as a sales and marketing intern , one thing i dislike about Jira is that it can feel a bit overwhelming when a project has many issues types, custom fields, and workflow for someone who is new to the platform, it takes a little time to understand where everything is, i also think creating small. routine tasks sometimes, involved more steps than necessary, once i became familiar with it, the experience improved but a simpler onboarding process for new users would make jira even better. What do you dislike about Jira?

i dislike about jira is that simple operational tasks can sometimes require more ticket fields and workflow steps than necessary which slow down quick internal requests, during busy sales periods, navigating heavily customized project with numerous issues types can also make it harder to locate the right information quickly, while jira is highly flexible and powerful, simplifying routine workflows and reducing unnecessary administrative steps would make it even more efficient for supporting day to day sales operations. "Jira Keeps Projects Organized with Customizable Workflows and Dashboards"
5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

Jira makes it much easier to organize projects and keep track of tasks from start to finish. It’s easy to monitor progress, assign work, and collaborate with the team all in one place. I also really appreciate how customizable it is—being able to tailor workflows and dashboards to fit different projects is especially useful, and it helps everyone stay aligned, focused, and productive. What do you dislike about Jira?

Jira can feel a bit overwhelming when you’re first getting started, especially with the sheer number of configuration options available. Some settings aren’t always easy to find or intuitive to navigate, and setting up more advanced workflows can take a while. I’ve also noticed it can be slower than expected when working on larger or more complex projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Yet Challenging Tool for Enterprise Teams"
5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

I appreciate Jira's exceptional flexibility in adapting to diverse team needs. I love the customizable workflows, allowing teams to tailor workflows to match their exact processes, whether using Scrum, Kanban, or other methodologies. I find the granular tracking and visibility helpful, providing comprehensive visibility into development cycles by allowing users to create, assign, and track issues at a detailed level in real-time. The powerful integrations stand out for me, as Jira connects seamlessly with essential tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and Slack, fostering a unified DevOps ecosystem. Additionally, I found the initial setup of Jira easy and better compared to other platforms. Beyond the core features, the built-in AI and smart automation features significantly cut down our manual scheduling and routine triaging tasks. Considering the sheer amount of time saved across our engineering and product teams, Jira delivers an outstanding return on investment (ROI) that easily justifies its pricing. What do you dislike about Jira?

Based on common user experiences, here are some areas where Jira is often cited as falling short: Steep Learning Curve: New users often find the interface complex and difficult to navigate, requiring significant training to use effectively. Workflow Complexity: The high level of customization can lead to bloated, over-engineered workflows that are hard to manage and maintain over time. Performance Issues: Some users report that the platform can feel sluggish, bloated, or slow, particularly when managing large projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Jira as the Ultimate Source of Truth for Complex Projects"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

Jira acts as the ultimate source of truth for complex projects. By centralizing tasks, automating updates, and providing clear visual tracking, it prevents communication gaps and reduces micromanagement. Ultimately, it brings structure to team collaboration and delivers a genuinely satisfying sense of progress when crossing the finish line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

When it’s misused, Jira can shift from a collaboration tool into a surveillance tool. It’s far too easy for stakeholders to fixate on velocity charts, burndown metrics, and time-tracking data, then use those numbers to micromanage developers instead of focusing on the real value being delivered. "Powerful tool to align product teams and manage delivery at scale"
4/5
What do you like best about Jira?

Jira provides a solid framework for managing complex projects and product development work. I particularly value its flexibility, customization options, and the visibility it creates across teams. It supports better collaboration between business and technical groups, while keeping priorities, progress, and overall status clear and transparent. The possibility to define custom workflow or templates allow to let feature teams being autonomous even if we share the same core structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

Jira can sometimes feel complex, especially for new users. Its high level of customization is a real strength, but it can also make configuration and adoption more challenging. To keep things manageable, it helps to have some governance in place so workflows stay consistent and setups don’t become overly complicated over time. I don’t use the AI/intelligence features yet due to our internal security policy, but based on other reviews I’ve seen, the Artificial Intelligence capabilities can boost productivity. "Jira: A Robust Tool for Structured Project Execution"
5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

I like many things like

Powerful Workflow Customization

Like Setting up a QA stage before "Done" ensures nothing goes live without testing - this alone can prevent costly errors.

Boards (Scrum & Kanban)

It helping :

- Quickly move tasks between stages without friction

- Provides real-time visibility into team workload

- Makes daily standups faster and more effective

Issue Linking & Traceability

-You can see how everything connects (e.g., a bug → story → epic)

- Helps with impact analysis when changes happen

- Makes audits and retrospectives much easier

Advanc search

- JQL : You can create highly specific filters Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

Sometimes Performance Can Be Slow

like In larger instances (lots of projects, issues, plugins), Jira can feel sluggish.

Steep Learning Curve (Especially JQL & Setup)

challanges is : Too many fields, statuses, and options upfront

Understanding issue hierarchy (Epic → Story → Subtask) takes time

Limited Flexibility Without Plugins

- Out-of-the-box Jira doesn’t always meet business needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Jira Brings Structure and Visibility to Complex Workflows"
5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

What I like best about Jira is its ability to bring structure and visibility to complex workflows. It makes it easy to track tasks, bugs, and progress across a team in a very organized way. Features like customizable boards (Scrum/Kanban), detailed ticketing, and clear status tracking help everyone stay aligned on priorities and deadlines.

I also appreciate how it integrates with development tools and supports end-to-end tracking—from issue creation to deployment—which makes collaboration between teams much smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

One thing I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overly complex, especially for new users. The interface isn’t always intuitive, and setting up workflows or navigating between boards, tickets, and filters can take time to get used to.

It can also become slow or cluttered when there are too many custom fields, statuses, or poorly structured projects. In some cases, simple tasks end up requiring a lot of steps, which can reduce efficiency instead of improving it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fluent Ticket Management with Great UI and Powerful Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Jira?

Many internal features like Tickets management, confluence and integrations with 3rd party apps for testing. Great UI and work fluently well even in 1000 of tickets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

One aspect I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overly complex, especially for new users or smaller teams. The large number of configuration options, workflows, issue types, and permissions can make it difficult to navigate and maintain. It can also become cluttered if projects aren't well organized, making it harder to find relevant information quickly. However, these challenges are generally manageable with good project governance and standardized workflows, and the flexibility Jira provides often outweighs these drawbacks for larger engineering teams.
