**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Not much to dislike about Jira. It's a great tool

Allowing team to maximize bandwidth, creating accountability and transparency

  ### 2. Intuitive and flexible system but more cumbersome than other options out there

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

You can customize requirements, fields, etc. by team or workflow

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Tedious to complete, organize and manage. It is almost like there are too many free form fields/ways of organizing and then it becomes a pain to use.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing requests to help with team resource planning

  ### 3. Jira for internal requests and tickets

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The tool easily allows sharing with the dedicated team various types of internal requets.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

In some cases completing a ticket imposes the use of some fields that are not relevant.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform allows to share internally with the right team any type of internal request.

  ### 4. Jira is Fine!

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dolimer M. | Ecommerce Sales Consultan, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

To have the record of every ticket available

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Kinda easies - as common use- to have the follow up by email, without entering into another software

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team used it for creating tickets and follow up the cases...

  ### 5. Not so bad not so good

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The kanban board is easy to visualize all the tickets to a specific project

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

too much colours make it difficult to find the exact issue i would like

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

ITs an okay product, there are betters out there to manage projects for specifically techonology projects

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

project managment and handling bugs and ticketing

  ### 6. A necessary evil

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like that Jira has a lot of features and integrates with many other commonly-used software programs. I also like the notifications.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira is so clunky and unintuitive. It's hard to figure out how to maximize the features and possibilities without spending hours in tutorial threads and how-tos.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Jira to track sprint progress and it's helpful to use when dealing with multi-company teams as well as multiple projects/workstreams.

  ### 7. Meets requirements for Scrum and Kanban needs, but it overly crowded by loads of useless tools

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maddie M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I really like the board vs project set up that Jira has. I work with both Kanban and Scrum teams and it's nice for organizational purposes. I enjoy the control that I have over customizing each board or project. Some examples include issue types and column layouts.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

If Jira was simpler, I think it would have nailed what it offers. The software is drowning is details and random tools that bury the simplistic, and therefore, useful perks. I'm consistently getting lost in the thick of all of the tools that I never use on a day to day basis.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

If you are familiar with using software to manage different types of Agile teams, I think that you will do just fine with Jira. If you are new to Agile, I don't recommend diving into Jira. It's too busy and muddied by the many perks that you will never use.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I house all of the boards and projects that my agile teams run on in Jira. We love having a central location for the department to host all of our information as far as our project organization goes.

  ### 8. Lots of fuctionality, access rights just loading times often bad for many users

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niklas D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Easy to customize e.g. company internal attributes and status values

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Main source of updates on tickets is still email, no aggregated/summary page of tickets people commented on etc.
Loading times of dashboards, ticket lists (backlog etc) or individual tickets sometimes super long.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product Management, writing requirements, sorting backlog, distributing work...

  ### 9. Jira needs more

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Archana N. | Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The notifications and ease of accessing.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Not everyone is taught how to use it to the fullest. My organization uses it and I would love to use it as a project management tool but no one knows in the organization how to do that.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Will like to get more information as I think it has a lot of potential but my company is not using it the way it should be for everyone.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can keep an easy track of my task can plan my day around it

  ### 10. A handy tool for project management but complex to analyse fata data

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivam G. | R&D Engineer - Mechanical Systems, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Track of ongoing task and pending tasks.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I couldn't get meaningful trends from my tasks timelines.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

If you are newbie to project management tools, then surely a handy tool to start.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To streamline the employees perday tasks and to evaluate it for yearly assessment.

  ### 11. It just works

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob H. | Senior Software Engineer (SDE2), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is the go-to project management tool in software engineering and all teams I worked at use it. It is a very comprehensive solution with very good integrations for most tools such as Github, Gitlab and Slack.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira's user interface can be slow and laggy. Some features are hidden and hard to find for non-power-users.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

It is the defacto standard in software engineering. However, there are more user-friendly and cheaper solutions available from other vendors.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Agile project management in software engineering. Management of sprints, epics and individual tickets.

  ### 12. Great tool for software development shop... anyone else, not so much

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Once you understand their parlance, the tool is easy to use and is quite flexible... maybe too flexible

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

We attempted to use this as a PM tool, and it’s really not designed for that. This isn’t their issue, its ours, but regardless...
The tool is very much built for software development. Anyone else, buyer beware

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organize product management across the org

  ### 13. I think there could be a lot of improvements for this product

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The JIRA boards themselves help keep things organized for our team.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I think the search is terrible (unless you know an actual ticket number), the UX could use some major improvements, and the loading time for everything is terribly slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

It seems to be the most commonly used project management tool but I have to believe there's something easier to use.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to coordinate our sprint work.

  ### 14. Great platform for project tracking

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Track and decompose all the project issues easily, easy to link the issues, easy customisation of the features. Possibility to collaborate with people.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The interface could be hard to familiarize with even with experience.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking and decomposing complex project features. Get customizable filters and extract progress KPIs.

  ### 15. Its a very comprehensive project management platform, but almost too flexible.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is a very good platform for team organization, especially by using Agile/Scrum or Agile/Kanban. With its extensible platform through plugins you will never get tired of Jira. The installation is pretty much straightforward, and you can import from a lot of the current project management tools out there.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

We've been using for years, and since its web based, when the number of tasks and projects gets a lot, it loads pretty slow. So you do need to clean up from time to time. Also is super customisable, meaning if you're looking for something simple to start of with, I wouldn't go for Jira, Jira is more suited for organisations that wants the solution tailored to their processors and workflow.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using a couple of project management tool previously, wanted to switch one solution that provides all the features needed.

  ### 16. Good for tracking stories and bugs but cumbersome and slow with outdated features

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyank G. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Options with different agile methodologies and views/dashboards plus easy to create bugs and stories with all details. Also, every time a change is made in the story, an email is sent to all users who are affected with it. So, good change log. Also, easy to create new projects and assign users to stores in those projects

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

A bit confusing on how to manage projects and lack of good tutorials and wikl documentation. Lots of complicated features with no clear cut usage known
2. Outdated tools/feature such as no editor for tables.
3. Too confusing due to multitude of features which are not used
4. Very slow on browser.
5. No simple way to track stories as the option provided are very confusing and documentation is lacking

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

I think there are more better tools than JIRA now as they are cheap and provide better support and services.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementation of digital projects across my company where we use JIRA as a tracking tool for multiple projects where each developer and product manager might be working on multiple projects.

  ### 17. Bug tracking made (mostly) simple

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan O. | On-Site Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira allows everyone to collaborate together to follow the issue from start to finish. All the necessary parties can participate, which is important.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The output can be somewhat bulky at times and doesn't always allow for the necessary addition of screenshots or context. This requires us to host screenshots on a separate Google space with links, which creates unnecessary added difficulties at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

JIRA will help you to track issues. I sometimes feel like, in my field, we need a little more flexibility in the interface, though. Make sure that you have a platform to host screenshots or other additional context when JIRA won't let you.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

JIRA helps us to solve project escalations in a streamlined manner.

  ### 18. Popular, But Leaves Much to be Desired

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It's super common in the tech industry for agile sprint planning, so I appreciate the consistency as I move between organizations.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Despite being so common-place, it's not intuitive to use. My greater department uses the round-robin feature for ticket distribution, but my team does not. So every time we make a ticket and assign it to someone, it gets automatically assigned to someone else on the team, and we have to go manually change it. Why does it still give us the "Assign to" option if it doesn't work. Many details like that in the user interface leave much to be desired. Waiting for some big updates.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creates accountability and transparency in the project planning/managing process. Allows us to make tickets for coding following the agile software design framework.

  ### 19. Examine Work at a High Level

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel N. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

  ### 20. Robust, highly customizable, but painful to use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

There is no doubt that Jira is the most comprehensive planning tool for agile teams. It's integration with Confluence, Atlassian's wiki product, is a good combo. When it works, it works.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Oh my... Where to start. The UI is OK for the average end-user, but as an administrator, it's truly insane. Incredibly non-intuitive and overcomplicated. Very difficult to set things up and do essential tasks.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you're managing large teams, large projects, and want to do things the 'right way' then Jira is a good option. Just be warned that it has loads of mind-numbing limitations and painful usability challenges. Getting up and running is not easy.

  ### 21. Hard to navigate. Not intuitive. Not good integration

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronald L. | Design Specialist I, Telecommunications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Helps teams to collaborate and track progress, issues, tasks. It also helps to unblock team members. Facilitate scrum calls and agile development. Integration with trello is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

integration plugins with third-party apps is a hit or miss. Some times they work, sometimes they don't. Plugins do not support many features. Jira can be very slow and consume a lot of memory on the client-side. Not easy to navigate or intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Use on cloud. I dont recommend Jira on premise. It requires a lot of work to maintain and operate. Tends to be slower and many bugs. When running on cloud, it is smoother and more reliable, but there is always the concern of privacy and security.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking progress, prioritize work, and collaboration between team members. Facilitate scrum calls, and agile development.

  ### 22. Really great at bug tracking; not awesome for product management

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica M. | Media and Content Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It took me a few months to get the hang of it and make it work for me and my needs. The reports you can create from it are varied and robust. And it's used widely in tech companies so a lot of people are already familiar with it. I think it also scales really well, so if you have thousands of employees, then it doesn't blink an eye.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I don't feel that it's terribly intuitive and there's a bit of a learning curve to figure out all its quirks, even at a basic level. To really be able to leverage it's robust reports features, you *really* have to learn a lot about it. And at the end of the day, all the reports in the world are only going to give you what PEOPLE have inputted. It's way too reliant on the human element to be very helpful. So much happens within comments, on the wrong tickets, tickets aren't moved to the right status or even closed, so that the whole system only works if the people are involved are doing the right things. In today's automated world, involving so much of the human element really is terribly inefficient.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to use it as a project management tool. It's ok. It's not really what it's meant for and it's kinda being forced against its will to give us what we need. But the fact that we didn't have *anything* before, then this is definitely better than nothing. Things are at least organized now.

  ### 23. Great for Tech Teams, Less Great for Others

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate B. | Communications Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is wonderful for agile tech teams. It integrates with all the other Atlassian software, like Confluence for documentation, plus connects with third-party software as well. You can set up KanBan boards, a backlog, etc. to organize your project management.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira is awesome for tech, but it's less great for other teams. For example, I'm a marketer and often need to schedule out assignments based on due date. While you can do this in Jira, it's not as easy to organize your tasks by due date as Jira is more intended for sprint work.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you work at a tech company, Jira is great for project management for your agile sprint teams. It can also be great for everyone else in the company interacting with those agile tech teams.

  ### 24. Powerful task manager tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like the way Jira is extensible by adding plugins, the UI is modern and the task editor is quite good using markdown and stylised text.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Sometimes when too many things are done at the same time, the UI gets buggy, and when adding new tasks to the backlog sometimes doesn't get updated automatically, and we have to refresh the page.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Jira is a good software overall, if you think you can bear with the sometimes annoying bugs it has, then is more than fine, is a potent and extensible service with tons of plugins and support, and the UI is quite good, refreshing and minimalistic.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing all the tasks and bugs we have in the company's products, keeping track of each employee work and building weekly sprints for the developers based on scored tasks.

  ### 25. This software is only as useful if you are disciplined about task updates and time management

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick B. | Principal Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like the team collaboration to understand what others in my group are working on.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

This software isn't integrated into our other scheduling methods, so all information transfer is manual.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Make sure you have your product management processes down before using Jira to track progress. This software will help to prioritize tasks, but that is worthless if you don't know what needs to be worked on.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to clearly understand which tasks are most important. It also forces us to focus on specific items to "cross off the list".

  ### 26. Jira is a bit clunky to use but has some good benefits

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Helps keep team members accountable and projects organized

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

User interface is not intuitive. Unable to reallocate ownership of events created by one team member. Difficult to get to past events and resurface

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Training initially is important and the Kanban boards are a great feature.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping all ongoing projects organized (less low priority items are falling off the radar for example) teammembers are being held accountable and can track/balance workload across our team

  ### 27. JIRA is both useful & frustrating

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie M. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The best I like about it is being able to add multiple users to it and have watchers. Everyone knows what's going on and so that makes it easy for project management.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I dislike the interface. It looks outdated and it could use a spruce up.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

It takes a bit to get used to, but once you understand it, it's easy.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving problems of people not bring in the loop of certain projects. But because of JIRAs notification preferences, everyone on the team is able to see what others are doing so everyone is in the loop.

  ### 28. It could be better

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcelo O. | Senior Member Of Technical Staff, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Great Product Management tool, it allows to organize your sprints or use it as kaban, depending. on your methodologies and needs

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It's too slow, and some options are not and intuitive as you would expect

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

 Issue types are confusing.
Story points are a great way to estimate a job.
 Beware with the default asignee

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Task ownership and time sheet calculation.

  ### 29. Serves it's purpose, but it's clunky

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paulina P. | QA Tester, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It makes it easy to keep all of the bugs and tasks in one place, also great for teams who work in sprints.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

When triaging bugs, the UX is clunky, the page is slow and jittery when I'm dragging my bugs up and down the backlog.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

It's good for it's purpose, but it does not spark joy.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a good collaborative QA tool. Everyone in the team is able to work on organising the sprints and triaged bugs and tasks. The ability to add images and GIFs into the tickets means that I can very clearly demonstrate to the developers what the issue with the software is.

  ### 30. Takes a while to get used to, but works great!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like the fact you can link stories and assign them to yourself or to others once you're done. At my workplace we for example start with a design story, as soon as I'm done with it, I'll just assign it to a colleague and change label/tag to say "development" instead. It also notifies me really well of changes in the story, I find the emails they sent when something changes within the story you're assigned to really clear.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Starting to use Jira, it was a bit overwhelming. It's quite extensive and at the start I had no clue how to use it. I think it's because it all feels quite technical and the fact I work as a designer at an IT company, it didn't help that all my colleagues were using IT lingo. Can't really blame Jira for that last one of course.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Don't let Jira overwhelm you, take your time to look into it, because the amount of support it can offer you and your team is great and it's definitely worth a shot!

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my workplace there's many different teams and the amount of different projects people are working on can be quite overwhelming. I really like how Jira allows you to divide all the teams and corresponding tasks, so you always know which board you need to look at.

  ### 31. Jira

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is very helpful to improve the capability of the development and testing team to perform a task or operation in a better way.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Complex ticket process and workflows can get complicated. I would like to see a bitter UIA adesign seems outdated

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

IRA is easy to use as far as setting up projects, adding tickets, moving them along the board, etc.
I spend most of my working day in the agile boards! So easy to use and endlessly configurable. I can't fault it

  ### 32. Easy enough to use, but not always intuitive

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Burn down chart view within the tool is very useful and clear. Also easy to drag and drop in the backlog. Access controls also seem pretty seamless.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Not the most robust export function. Feel like there's things we want to do that we aren't able to do 0 for instance, being able to output the burn down chart doesn't seem feasible. To put into a PPT, we have to take a screenshot of the burndown chart.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organize our agile teams and work. Allow managers to see what everyone's doing and what the progress of the work is.

  ### 33. An Easy Way to Track Your Project

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Kanban Style Boards, Integration With Bitbucket. easy project management, and Bug Tracking

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Complex to Setup on both cloud and on premise, Expensive when more than 5 users use it.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Best to use whatever your team size be, but pricing is high when used by large teams

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me keep focused on my project and help in on - time delivery, See development progress live and keep track of bugs and commits

  ### 34. Jira, is the the future?

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira seems to be a place where tracking projects and issues comes together with collaboration. My team can work together on a project or break-fix even though we are remote employees.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The layout is awkward and learning curve is very high.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to keep more details notes and diagrams for our projects and once a particular project is started it is easy to use as a template for future work.

  ### 35. Average project & tasks management tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Easy to navigate in tasks and dashboards, advanced search by any possible fields, drag and drop attachments, easy comments and people mentioning. Good time tracking and sprints management

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I had experience with on premise JIRA and hundred of thousand tasks , and it worked like really really slow. Could wait couple of minutes ticket to load and it was very annoying

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developers task and agile sprints management

  ### 36. Great but overly complicated set up

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The structured workflows are great for my teams projects

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The set up and configuration is complicated and you need contractors to unlock advanced features

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Make sure you take the time to plan out your configuration up front

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving our workflow to jira ensures that every project flows through the right approval process and path

  ### 37. Project Management System Needing Customization for Startup Outside of Software Development

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shanna F. | Post-Production Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

At a minimum, it is a project management system where you can work through different agile systems/methodologies to consolidate your tasks and project development in one place.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It has very limited capabilities to integrate with Confluence, even though the two are linked through Atlassian. No native calendar creation options in Jira (only in Confluence). Needs a lot of plugins/add-ons to reach its full potential as a program. Not an out-of-the-box solution for Marketing/Production workflows - created for Software Development - however, need high-level admin rights to be able to create custom workflows, fields, statuses etc. Interface feels antiquated on first approach, or too foreign of an aesthetic for the creative industry. Jira Cloud seems to be addressing this and making it more approachable. Limited resource management tools.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management, time tracking, forecasting resource management.

  ### 38. It's just OK

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha B. | Samantha, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Plenty of options to customize your workflow to fit your needs

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The application regularly crashes, fails to update, or gets stuck.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Jira to track our cancellations process.

  ### 39. I use Jira in my organization and it helps us to manage some tasks

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sophio l. | Sopio Labadze, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Mostly what I like in Jira is that it has wide range of possibilities

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

What I dislike mostly is that it's not user friendly at all, I frequently have to google or ask my friends when something is new for me, its not easy to find it out yourself. Also sometimes it has some delays

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

My recommendation would be to use this tool because it is very good to manage some projects and delegate the work with it

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira helps me to solve some managerial things, like assigning tasks to users , managing timelines , etc..

  ### 40. Great tool, but comes with a learning curve.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faizan C. | Healthcare Assistant, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The analysis of the project health that is displayed in charts for users to easily access. The ability to shift sub-task between dates or users etc.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Sometimes it can take some getting used to before being able to use the tool.
If the network or the host has an issue, JIRA can be slow .
Jira can be too cluttterd.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Use it,

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better agile project management at the likes. Easy to track bugs in projects.

  ### 41. Review on Jira

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It is easy to use and fast to lean. It benefits the users to make cases and add comments. You can easily create cases and track them. It is easy to add comments to the cases and navigate through them. The website is easy to navigate through.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It needs improvements and can take time to load the web page

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Cases are easy to create.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to create cases.

  ### 42. Implementing at our company

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I have used another version of Jira in the past and this is much easier to use. I really like that it is web based with tons of documentation on how to do things. I also like the templates for different types of projects. I'm still learning how to use them all but so far they fit our needs well.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The hardest thing to work with are the setting screens that open on top of what you are working on . It's difficult to know what you are changing or what the setting was previously because I can't move the screen. Another annoying piece is needing to use the Jira specific language to do customizations. It's close enough to html and css I don't know why Atlassian didn't just go with those.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

I have used the server based version of Jira in the past and it didn't take me long to learn that system. My company has installed the cloud system with Service Desk and Confluence. I didn't do the installation so I can't speak to ease of installation but learning to use the system and learning how to administrate it has been amazingly simple. There is a lot of documentation available and it can take some time to wade through it all but I have been able to find what I am looking for without spending hours in forums.. It has taken me less than a work week to learn the administration and basic tools available to set up workflows. It's taking a little longer to learn to use the tools in Confluence.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are setting up a help desk ticketing system as our company has grown to where we need one. We also want to move our documentation from a free for all file sharing system to something more structured. We are using Confluence on top of Jira Core to create web pages for all our documents.

  ### 43. Most helpful

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giorgio C. | Responsabile front-end, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It’s a must have for every company, for the work’s organization is the top!

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Most complex in some parts, but -at the end- is very helpful

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a task for every thing, ideal for the modularity of the work

  ### 44. Effective in managing projects - but could be better

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica B. | Associate Product Manager, Creative Cloud Experience and Engagement, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Jira?**

There are so many things to think of when you're managing a project, especially since there can be so much variety in different projects, so its hard to cover everything. Jira does a good job of covering almost everything.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I wish Jira would allow the user to save their comments in draft before posting them. I wish they'd allow you to delete an issue as a regular user, and not just as an admin. A lot of the functionality of Jira is exclusive to admins, which I think gives admins more work and doesn't let basic users customize to their specifications. For example, I'd love for the links on my Jira content to open in new tabs. But I can't assume the whole office wants this. Providing users the option to open their links in new tabs isn't too much power that could possibly break the team. Just an example of some functionally that could be distributed down.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software development, mobile development, communications, QA testing.

  ### 45. Great to manage your projects

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is very very useful when it comes to managing software development as every step can be monitored, we can track all issues and the team can work together fixing the problem.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

You can be addicted to it and trying to push everything into JIRA.
Sometimes this leads to the extreme bureaucratization of activities, even those who are not useful to be written, tracked, etc.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The good of this tool is that you can solve a lot of management problems with it, the bad is that you are tempted to solve too many problems with it.

  ### 46. Jira is GREAT!!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira makes it easy to work on project management and track bugs.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira is quite complicated and can have a fairly large learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Go for it! Jira is a great piece of software and its integration into the Atlassian suite makes it a valuable project management and bug tracking tool.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira allows for efficent bug tracking and project management across multiple teams and physical locations.

  ### 47. Highly customizable and effective but huge learning curve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It has a ton of features, is highly customizable, and used by a ton of software teams

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Product is not very intuitive. When jira implements new UI, some features disappear because it's not in the new UI. Customizing jira is difficult unless you have used the product and know the product extensively.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking software development

  ### 48. Jira has a definite learning curve, but can be super helpful

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is a fantastic organizational tool for project management. I love having everything in one place with the filters and dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The Jira search function is pretty tricky. You have to know exactly which boolean phrases to use, which isn't necessarily intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Make sure to teach search functions early on

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira is great for tracking tasks and staying organized. My organization tracks pretty much everything on Jira.

  ### 49. Jira

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It’s pretty easy to setup projects in Jira for tracking different things.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It can be a bit tricky customizing Jira to your needs because it’s quite complex.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira provides the tool we need for Agile project management.

  ### 50. Jira is made for Managing Projects

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like that you are able to manage all of your teams tasks in one spot.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I think the user interface is confusing, not visually appealing.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to manage all of our tasks in one place and have visibility into what each other was working on.
