## Jira Reviews
  ### 1. Jira System is difficult for not IT people to use

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like the idea that Jira offers a project management system where everyone can keep track of defects, test cases, etc. I like the idea that you can provide status updates in the system and then tag other individuals on the project.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It seems like the Jira system was designed by IT people for IT people. As a finance professional I had a difficult time getting used to the functionality of the system.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Jira system was deployed as part of my organization's recent ERP project implementation, and it is supposed to make people more efficient because all test case scenarios and answers can be stored in one central database.

  ### 2. Good tool but nothing more

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis C. | Senior DevSecOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The organization by project and by sprint follows the agile methodology. The toll doesn't try to be fancy or do everything and has great integrations with loads of other stuff.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira seems stuck in the past. They did not change much in the last five years, and design choices are questionnable. User management is a pain, and finding what you want in the UI is hard.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of changes and feature requests. Documenting tickets for developers and organizing our development sprints.

  ### 3. Needs a lot of improvements

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabu S. | Technical Support Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The free version is giving us some basic features to use. Also the reports overview using free graphs are also good, giving us some basic insightss about the projects.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Even though the ui seems simple its not at all user friendly. I'm using azure Devops also. Personally I feel Azure DevOps is much more simple, user friendly and too powerful.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Jira as a Task management, Bug Tracking and project management tool. Its a worldly using tool. So we don't need to give us extra introductions about jira to our stakeholders or clients. However personally I likes Azure DevOps.

  ### 4. Good Agile Project Management Tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Max H. | Sr. Technical Project Manager, Cyber Security, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like how Jira is developed with Agile methodologies in mind and enables product evaluation, backlog management, and sprint management, to list a few.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira can sometimes be less than intuitive, and I've seen daily stand-up meetings delayed with users trying to figure out how to update an outstanding task.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira offers solid workflows, which allow product planning to be assessed by the correct approvers and keeps product teams on the same page.

  ### 5. Review in a point of view of a non software user

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo M. | Product Development Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The connectivity and communication options that Jira provides are quite good actually. They have as many integrations as I can think with other softwares. Also, you can do good automations with this tool, to help you to handle simple actions, or maybe notify you in the future given a condition.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira takes some time to master. Maybe it is because the tool is so complete, that you never really master it. Actually, there are a lot of jobs, at least in Brazil, that ask you to have "experience in JIRA" as a requisite. We are not a software company, so many tools did not have the biggest value to us.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira really helps the company to organize the workflows once the team really learns how to use and, above all, how to customize it according to the company's needs. The real value of JIRA is that you can make it works the way your company needs.

  ### 6. JIRA to monday.com data migration with integration

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is easy and project management tools

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

JIRA is not that user-friendly and has an average User Interface. I am not that much familiar with JIRA. JIRA - UI needs to have more colorful and more attractive.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do not use JIRA and have less experience, but we migrated all data from JIRA to the monday.com application. We have done JIRA integration with monday.com application using the REST API of JIRA and monday.com. We created UI from that User-Interface by putting some JIRA unique values called REST API to get data from JIRA and post REST API to put data to monday application

  ### 7. Overwhelming at the begining, nice and enjoyable after some learning time

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The collaboration experience among users is beneficial because of all the options it gives you, like sharing flies and screenshots with your team and partners.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

In the beginning, because there were so many features, it was a little bit overwhelming, and it took some time to get used to the platform

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working on the same project with my team allowing us to quantify the workdays at the same project

  ### 8. Takes some time to learn how to use but effective

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew L. | Sr People Business Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like the connectivity and communication within JIRA. I am a novice user and was not super familiar but learned to use JIRA after some time spent digging in!

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It takes some time and training to use it properly. As a non-engineer I was not familiar with it and it took me a lot of time to figure out the sequencing of requests.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with engineering and other groups to connect and work through challenges. We've used it for Finance and Legal requests, as well.

  ### 9. gets the job done. every company uses it. UI could be better

  ### 10. Sometimes to complicated and to generic

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

I can have all the epic and manage my srcrum teams over Jira

  ### 11. It's a really good piece of software, but a word of advice

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alejandro M. | RPA developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I loke Jira's interface and function, they could be more intuitive, but after a while of following their guidelines you get used to it and get to know the great capacity they have

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

You end up paying A LOT in plugins, if you want functions that aren't included in the basic package, beware; You'll be shopping for plugins to get acces to them, and the cost can add up to make a expensive software, much more expensive.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We implement Agile methodology with Jira in a company,it was not only posible but it really made an impact to that company, a positive one, they increased the efficiency of their work, giving value to the company.

  ### 12. Overall positive, especially when working with development teams

Great resource when working internally with the development, or a team with a strong technical focus.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Sometimes hard to tie certain sprints, and tasks to a higher level project or program in clear and distinct ways.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working collaboratively to review and fix code and test updates to some scripts.

  ### 13. OK to use for Software Project managment

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomer A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Once configured correctly, the ticket flow supports the working method we want.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

All of the "admin" work is over complexed
For example:
- Field config
-Status changes automation

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team coordination

  ### 14. good tool to manage service ticket status

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Easy to keep track of the requests created by myself.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Navigation toggles are a bit confusing and not user-friendly. I wish there were more tutorials for the users.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helps me to keep track of the status of diffeerent request/tickets

  ### 15. Using Jira for task management specifically in the r&d teams

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Very long onboarding time - may take a new user 2 to 3 months until he can easily operate the system alone

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sprint planning, task management, version planning, roadmap visibility, bug tracking

  ### 16. Useful but not easy to manage

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel U. | Business Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Ideal for Project Management with a low level of personalization. When you have a pretty standard and defined process to follow, is a very powerful tool and it really is mature as software.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Not easy to configure and personalize. There's not much material so you can learn everything by yourself easy and quick. They should have a better learning space.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Compare to other tools first and make sure this is what you need.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of SAaS implementation with Agile methodology (very good working with sprints). Avoid using excel for managing and getting everyone on board with live updates.

  ### 17. very helpul, would recommend

**Reviewed by:** Tanicia J. | Customer service rep, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

VERY FAST AND EFFECTIVE TO OPEN CASES AND HAVE THEM SENT TO RELEVANT TEAMS.

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I think the tracking of the roadmap was very good to see the status of the project.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

the backlog is very difficult to organize, many fields had to be filled in to be able to have a good order

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

improving the UX of the application as such by making it a bit more intuitive

  ### 19. Kinda hard to use for marketing teams but presumably good for developers

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack F. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like that the filters are very customizable

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It's not always possible to make it do exactly what you want

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us a way to view all the projects we have ongoing and their current status so that nothing slips through the cracks. This allows us to meet goals more quickly.

  ### 20. Jira Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish N. | Senior business analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is flexible, project independent configuration, aglie nature, visualisation, roadmaps that are connected, ability to star fav project and visibility

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira is a complex management tool, it's not that user friendly, I remember the first time I used jira it was bit confusing

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira feature of automating mundane task and reduce the potential of error and rework by defining rules.

  ### 21. It's a powerful tool but it needs some improvements

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Different categories and teams are structured wisely.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

There are too many boxes which most of them are irrelevant

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to log incidents to the appropriate team

  ### 22. Good software but Atlassian decides what's best for it's customers

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is one of the best Agile development project management solutions. You're able to create projects, epics, stories, tasks, sub-tasks, and bugs and manage it all well. It has a good ecosystem of plugins and once you've learned what it can do, it's relatively fast. For the longest time, I couldn't think of a replacement for it and only recently moved to Gitlab, which I find is still missing some features from Jira. It links easily with Bitbucket.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Jira is hard to maintain. There's a reason people get paid money just to keep it up and running. The upgrade process usually takes me a couple of days each time and it's nerve-wracking to think you could lose anything and any moment. It's also a bit intimidating for new users and I had a lot of trouble convincing colleagues to use it regularly. Lastly, and the real reason I switched to Gitlab, Atlassian is in charge of the product and don't seem to care what the customers think. There were thousands of votes for being able to change the default status and they ignored this feature request for years. Additionally, they switched to cloud without any option to keep a supported self-hosted version running. For those reasons, I saw the company going in a direction that I just couldn't support.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Jira for project management and estimation.

  ### 23. modern day service Desk

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** suleman a. | Information Technology Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

i like the APis feasibility to connect most of the external systems to integrate with jira.that help us alot in our organization and to sort out our integration with external systems.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

the licensing part in jira is not so attractive at all .for each product or scheme a different license to be purchased which some time not suitable for shot firms.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

its modernday service desk to keep upto date your task.i would recommend it to fellows IT consultants

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have integrate out third party solution with jira to create incidents and API feasbility in jira help this out to make this possible.and we have now able to create incidents on jira .

  ### 24. Jira is great if you're a large company and have folks dedicated to maintaining your tools

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The best part of Jira is its flexibility and ability to be configured for a variety of teams. The enterprise level reporting and dashboard features are nice as well, if you're at a large company.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It can be incredibly cumbersome to setup and get configured in a way that makes sense for the way you work. It's too much overhead for startups and smaller teams that try to keep process simple.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Jira is great if you have large teams and need to ensure everyone is following the same process. Not easy if you are still figuring out the best ways to work or want to work with minimal overhead.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of my favorite parts of Jira is the ability to create your own Dashboards. It lets different roles get insights that are tailored to their role.

  ### 25. It's easy to learn but hard to master

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Extensibility of jira is definitely one of it's selling points

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Performance is lackluster and a bit diaappointing

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a ticketing system, so... It solves our ticketing needs

  ### 26. Jira can be very complicated to set up and manage, but becomes very useful for the right teams

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It's very customizible and once set up is rather clean for others to track how milestones are being met

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It can be hard to set up for non-software development uses. The options aren't very flexible for regular project management type work, but can be used

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

tracking all software and hardware development tasks

  ### 27. Professional grade product management tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

It is easier to create a task in the Jira. It helps in tracking the state of the project from a broader perspective. It has excellent integration with slack. I am not a fan of the apple app; hence I tend to use the Slack bot to keep me updated about the status of the task that we have created.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The UI, in my opinion, is somewhat confusing. It is not always easy to filter out stuff like bugs or the features we are working on in the company. The apple app is also not user-friendly. I love to view the app's content, similar to that of the website.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for all project tracking purposes. It includes all the features we need to build, all the bugs we have found, notes the dependency from other pods, and keeps track of user-reported feedbacks.

  ### 28. Ok for project management but not as good as Asana imo

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira has a lot of features for tracking tickets, and is helpful for tracking progress against tickets if your goal is to track the throughput of an organization.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The main issue with Jira is that it is quite hard to use. Lots of functionality requires multiple button clicks. As a result, it's difficult to use for prioritizing one's own work. I prefer Asana, which is more centered around priority of tasks rather than just throughput of bug tickets.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tasks include bug tracking and tracking execution on projects. While I use it on both, it's better for straightforward use cases like a bug tracker or waterfall.

  ### 29. It's complicated

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin B. | Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira has a ton of customizable options (which is a double-edged sword sometimes) and most of the time you can make it do what you need. It also means it's flexible enough to work for a variety of teams and their unique workflows.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It is not what I would describe as a "smooth", easy to learn tool for project management. Often it just feels clunky and old-school. It's like it was designed to fit too many situations and, consequently, fits none of them well.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Know that you're getting a powerful, flexible solution, but those things come with a learning curve for staff. Jira Cloud may be more advanced (I don't know first-hand, since we use Server).

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coordinating work in and between teams. The main benefit is just being able to plan work together and keep management in the loop about our progress.

  ### 30. gives the basics for a project management system

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like that you can track your projects and see the progress. It is helpful to be able to tag other users for follow-up and attach important related documents. Easy to see who requested something and when.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It is not the easiest to use for people who are not technology savvy. The MB upload limit has been an issue when I have needed to upload larger documents. I find it to be a little clunky.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving project management. It helps us to collaborate as a marketing team and track where each of the members are with each project. That way we can efficiently record our workflow.

  ### 31. soso

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

it has easy search features, the pages load quickly. it also remembers the things that you pasted when the page is refreshed.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

there is a pasting issue. somethings when you copy and paste images or links, it doesn't show up on the page. you have to keep refreshing it and try again.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

have high-speed internet

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we control our fleet with it. it makes is easier for our various teams to use it.

  ### 32. Not as useful as expected in our case.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The kanban board and the drag & drop feature are what I love th emost. It presents the tasks in a clear way and make status update a lot earier.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The page loading time is very long sometime. ANd we find the root casue is it load a lot of 3rd party resources which doesn't comply with our corporate firewall. This is very disrupting and keep user away from using the tool.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using JIRA, we use our tailored made excel sheet to manage our tasks. However, it's very manual and a huge effort is required to maintain this excel. Jira help us to make tasks management a lot easier and save our effort to manage the excel.

  ### 33. Not perfect for marketing – but IT types love it

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

All the comment and interaction history involved with a given project is right there. I really don't have to go too far off a given issue to find what I'm looking for. Having a Kanban board right inside the application is also helpful, depending on how you feel about Kanban boards. It's also fairly easy to find an older project, though this functionality can get proportionally less useful the more projects you're running through Jira.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Like a lot of programs of this ilk, it's garbage-in/garbage-out. If everyone is not entirely on board and documenting what they're doing, the program's best features become sort of useless. This is especially true if you have a key person do some of their communicating on the platform and some off the platform. It's not an either-or thing; you need to be documenting everything on Jira for Jira to do what it's supposed to.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Assess your project-management needs and shortcomings. Do you need a dedicated PM solution? Are projects going off the rails?

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned earlier, it is great for complex projects that involve multiple people and departments. It's a boon to project managers. And it can help virtual organizations with far-flung employees get and stay on the same page.

  ### 34. Jira review - integrations are key

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard T. | Sr Cloud Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira integrates with almost anything which is exactly why I like it.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

I am not a fan of its "clunkiness" and its pricing structure, but...its the "pick 2 of 3, but you cant have all three"

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Jira in a multitude of cases. My team uses it mostly as a front end to our self-service portal and automation orchestrator

  ### 35. jira Project Management

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The interface is very catchy and good. The dashboard is good from where things are easy to understand. It is easy for the PMO office to assign tasks to individuals and keep track of them.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The functions in Jira are somehow complicated. We have to browse many options to find a configuration/setting. The mobile application is not good. UI needs improvements. The upload file size limit is too small, 10MB only.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

It is good, but you can find a better alternative.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it for project management, performance monitoring, and bug tracking. PMO office owns Jira from where employees' performance and efficiency were calculated and monitored.

  ### 36. UX is lacking

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The detailed audit trails and task tracking are really useful.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It often requires a lot of steps/clicks to do some fairly simple things. It's frustrating that there isn't a better/easier UX to accomplish certain repetitive tasks.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We schedule all our technical development and production team work assignments in Jira. It's useful for task tracking, but definitely requires dedicated project management resources to keep up with it.

  ### 37. Project Management for Developers, but not Marketers

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cole W. | Digital Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

JIRA is a great tool to help with the Project Management of Developers, however going beyond the niche of Developers makes it a bit more clunky.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

it's a specialist tool for Development only and is limited in that functionality. Also by adding so many functionalities, it feels a bit bloated and has a learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Training insights for new users, would be great.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing development projects. Keeping Developers on task.

  ### 38. Decent Tool, could be better

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira allows for the tracking and documenting of key components of a deliverable or task. These include assigner, assignee, due date, status, and the opportunity to comment. It allows for team members to view tasks and filter based on different task components (e.g. who it is assigned to, status, epic, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It can be difficult to find tickets once you make them. Sometimes the tickets go to areas that are not intuitive and need to be moved after being created. Also, a lot of people view Jira as 'overhead,' and it can be viewed as a nuance. The Jira boards can also get cluttered and are not always up to date. Most of these issues arise of how a company utilizes the tools. However, Jira could make it more 'fun' or 'user friendly' to encourage individuals to utilize the tool regularly.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization and team have a lot of tasks to track. Many of these tasks come up sporadically and are urgent fixes. Jira allows our team to track these tasks and provide updates accordingly. The ability to track tasks is especially important given that we are working remotely and at different times and different time zones. We are also able to provide critical updates and information in the Jira ticket. This helps us to preserve a record of what was done in case we need to look back and complete knowledge transfer of the process.

  ### 39. Can be Great, after the learning curve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margaret W. | Data Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The ability to use JQL to create the exact views, filters is a nice trait compared to some less technical project management/scrum tools

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

There's a steep learning curve to get to the point where JIRA works for you. Setting up dashboards could be far easier and would make product adoption on new teams/less technical teams much easier.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great way to track work completion and backlog projects. Connectivity to other Atlassian suite products also proves quite useful (issue collectors forms in confluence flow into JIRA)

  ### 40. Bad UX but it does the job

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thiago D. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

JIRA is insanely flexible and it can fit most, if not all workflows.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

All of JIRA's flexibility comes at the expense of being impossible to configure it without Googling tutorials.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration between product and engineering.

  ### 41. Jira is doing the job but not the best

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ali S. | System administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Road map, sprint, kaban boards, dashboard report,

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

TimeTracker is not reliable, there is automatic notifaction based on task estimation,
Auto notifaction is week

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management, planning, task tracking,

  ### 42. Lots of functionality, but not very intuitive.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

There's a ton you can do. We mainly use it to track feature requests and bugs, but you can also see things like workflows, etc.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It's not intuitive. Lots of fields to fill out, the search functionality is awful.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Just be aware there's a learning curve.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bug development and tracking. We can see where things are in the process.

  ### 43. Solid as Jira

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira is solid for workflows and processes.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Lacks intuitive design or eye-friendliness.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bandwidth management. Requests intake. Sprints.

  ### 44. Jira works well for me on the front-end

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kolyo P. | Director, Client Delivery Operations , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

My IT support provider uses Jira and I like how quickly they understand the level of urgency of my requests. All inputs (text, image, etc) are well recorded so they cannot really hide anything from me.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

As a user, I am not able to add my colleagues as quickly as I like. Namely, I am dealing with my IT provider, one of my colleagues asks me to handle an IT issue for him and I cannot add them to the conversations, as easily as I would like to.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring and executing IT support tickets.

  ### 45. Dev system can be clunky at times

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James W. | Head of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Lots of functionality and allows the tracking of all our complex dev pieces in one place

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The roadmap function is really not great and integrations with other systems can have limitations

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting all of the dev team working in one place

  ### 46. A bloated workhorse of a tool for designers

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Being able to track multiple lanes of work, their statuses, communication amongst stakeholders, and tracking changes

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

It's a highly bloated piece of software with many features and products tacked onto it. Realistically a lot of designers don't need the majority of the functionality and can do with just the backlog and kanban board.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing workloads, tracking progress of individual projects. It benefits me with keeping up to date how we are tracking to timelines and if we are blocking any critical paths in the workflow.

  ### 47. Jira Cloud is nice, but confusing!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The filter searches are great. The ability to drag and drop files is great. The out-of-the-box features, such as Kanban board, are helpful.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The system configuration is not very intuitive. Adding pictures could be more easier. The canned reports could use some work.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Jira for Customer Support helpdesk tickets, software development, and project management. We also utilize Tempo Timesheets, a Jira add-on.

  ### 48. Useful tool, but frustrating to use.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Project management is very transparent and checking the status of work items is relatively easy.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Cumbersome design, requires multiple screen progressions to make simple changes that other management tools offer with much more accessibility.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira helps our teams to track capacity and work item statuses as they flow from creation, backlog, and finally into active development and completion.

  ### 49. JIRA Cloud is sluggish

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Animesh J. | Senior Software Engineer, Graphics QA, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Task management, Drag and drop, moving/editing of tasks. The administration of tasks is also easy.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

When large group of people collaborate under a single organization in JIRA cloud specifically, it can get sluggish and annoying to use really quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

Please know that its not easy to move from JIRA Cloud to JIRA Core.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project Managent, Task Scheduling, QA, Bugs etc. Everything you can mostly think of in a Software development Life cycle.

  ### 50. Not the best UX on the market

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roman S. | Junior Product Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Jira?**

The software is full of capabilities and their support specialists are very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of opportunities for different cross-platform integrations with other products. Jira Could supports major operating systems and devices (desktop and mobile). Of course the most valuable for a fintech company like ours in Jira is the number of integrations and plugins that can be added, which I think was the resolution point in the question of selecting CRM/PM/ERP platform for entire company.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Even though there are a lot of opportunities to tune the tool just as you need it, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to do this, because the interface is not user friendly. Settings are scattered in different places and don't seem to have the clear logical reasoning to be where they are, which causes frustration. The best example is notifications, which are essential for PM and ERP tools. Notifications in bell menu are dependent on notifications on the email, which I have turned off and in fact stopped receiving ALL notifications, which is nonsense. "Watch" issue state is not assigned correctly to tickets or it is not clear how it works. subtasks are not visible in the backlog, so they are easily being ignored.
No official app for Linux and those for Mac/iOS are very limited on features, so I still prefer to use web version, which is not convenient from mobile though.

**Recommendations to others considering Jira:**

It's a valuable and professional tool, but hard to use

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically, I use it for managing the Road map and Backlog. The ability to use multiple set of available integrations with 3rd party products is a very nice perk
