I primarily use Jira Product Discovery for idea backlogs, prioritization, and road mapping, and it makes sense to centralize every request that comes from Slack, sales calls, and stakeholder meetings all in one place. Using RICE scores and custom effort versus impact matrices helps us decide what matters and what should go in the sprint, which is really great. The now, next, later road mapping works well for us. I also like the native integration customization and the clarity it offers for both stakeholders and the team, making it a no brainer for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Jira Product Discovery? I mean, it took us almost two weeks to get it completely set up. Right? And that's a lot more time than it took us while we were moving to Linear. So I would say the initial setup requires a significant amount of admin time. Specifically, the custom fields, the custom views, and everything before it actually gets useful. Plus, there is a bit of a learning curve over here that I'm not fully okay with. The second part would be, and again, this is something that I received as feedback from my team who are using Windows machines, some of which were about three to four years old, that they feel the performance was a bit too heavy. The UI felt a bit too heavy, required a lot more performance. Again, this is something that we did not notice on the new Apple silicon chips. But on Windows, this was definitely there. What I like most about Jira Product Discovery is that it brings all my ideas, customer insights, and prioritization work into one place no more scattered spreadsheets or notes. The seamless integration with Jira is a huge win because it lets me connect roadmap ideas directly to development issues and track delivery progress within the same platform. The “white on white” design makes it hard to distinguish between sections. The tagging system also has almost too many options, which can become confusing quickly. The roadmap/timeline view is pretty limited: you can’t zoom, and the precision is only at the month level, so planning by weeks isn’t possible. Overall, it works well mainly for simple products, but it feels too rigid for complex products with many teams or goals.
