The UI is fast, flawless, and easy to use, so new colleagues begin using it seamlessly from day one of onboarding. **What do you dislike about Jira Product Discovery?** Stakeholders are often confused by having multiple Jira projects as it's difficult to sync ideas between JPD and the Epics in Jira Software. We're using AI to generate all data fields, workflows, and views, but we've found those generated elements to be less customisable than in Jira Software. **What problems is Jira Product Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had been using older tools without SSO, whereas JPD is natively integrated with the other Atlassian tools. After adopting it, the whole team agreed that projects seemed to be completed faster. It saves on licensing costs for multiple tools as it has become the new standard. ### 2. While the Jira integration is a major strength, customization options for views and reporting can sometimes feel limited compared to dedicated product management tools. Additionally, some advanced features are only available in higher-tier plans, which may impact smaller teams evaluating ROI. **What problems is Jira Product Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** Jira Product Discovery solves the challenge of managing, prioritizing, and validating product ideas in a structured way. Effective Tool for Teams Already in Jira Ecosystem **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Tarun S. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026 **What do you like best about Jira Product Discovery?** I primarily use Jira Product Discovery for idea backlogs, prioritization, and road mapping, and it makes sense to centralize every request that comes from Slack, sales calls, and stakeholder meetings all in one place. Using RICE scores and custom effort versus impact matrices helps us decide what matters and what should go in the sprint, which is really great. The now, next, later road mapping works well for us. I also like the native integration customization and the clarity it offers for both stakeholders and the team, making it a no brainer for our team. **What do you dislike about Jira Product Discovery?** I mean, it took us almost two weeks to get it completely set up. Right? And that's a lot more time than it took us while we were moving to Linear. So I would say the initial setup requires a significant amount of admin time. Specifically, the custom fields, the custom views, and everything before it actually gets useful. Plus, there is a bit of a learning curve over here that I'm not fully okay with. The second part would be, and again, this is something that I received as feedback from my team who are using Windows machines, some of which were about three to four years old, that they feel the performance was a bit too heavy. The UI felt a bit too heavy, required a lot more performance. Again, this is something that we did not notice on the new Apple silicon chips. But on Windows, this was definitely there. So I think optimization would be something else here. **What problems is Jira Product Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Jira Product Discovery to bridge the gap between ideas and engineering tasks, centralizing roadmaps within Jira instead of spreadsheets. It helps with idea backlogs, prioritization, and simplifies collaboration for my team. ### 4.
