Also, you can run independent java files to test some pieces of java code. **What do you dislike about JCreator?** Whenever we try to open a big project it starts hanging which is very annoying. Also, the auto-completion feature is not helpful for experienced developers. Also not sure if we can create a swing UI using drag and drop. **What problems is JCreator solving and how is that benefiting you?** Jcreator help to develop java applications. Mostly I can say those are core java based applications. I am not sure it supports j2ee applications yet or not. It is good for java training guys. ### 5. The User Interface is straightforward to use and highly navigable; it resembles that of Microsoft Visual Studio; this allows us to optimize our checkpoints on the project and fully dedicate ourselves to scheduling responsibilities. Also, for novels developers, JCreator is easy to learn for Java programming. For the more experienced, it has tools that allow us to carry out complex processes. Its Integrated editor with Case Sensitivity facilitates the autocompletion of keywords, codes, and elements of the language in question. It also allows automatic indentation of the lines; therefore, we do not have to worry about this aspect of elegance and ways of doing it. It also adds formatting options for the text, word adjustment, and spelling correction, all of which avoid inserting terms incompatible with the language. JCreator is entirely configurable at the detail level. It has open-source for its API and its documentation. Its development on C ++, which makes it light and uses few operating system resources. **What do you dislike about JCreator?** It is selective to the Windows stage, there is no Linux or Unix variant. Advantages: -A small download compared to some of the better known Java IDE's. -Tree view for projects, classes and interfaces. -The environment features a some level of configurability, with tool bars, key bindings and links to external tools all available. -Integration with Java SDK and documentation. **What do you dislike about JCreator?** Disadvantages: -JCreator only runs under Windows, there's no Linux or Unix version. -Lack of an effective macro or plug-in architecture means that extending with new functionality is not an option. -JCreator clearly doesn't have the full range of functionality of other platforms (Eclipse, NetBeans, etc) have to offer. -No community support. -The paid version is quite expensive for what is offered... **Recommendations to others considering JCreator:** JCreator is a highly interactive development environment for Java, providing users with multiple functions and tools in a simple, convenient and fast application, but even the Pro version lack's of ton's of functions that other's IDE's offer and for free. **What problems is JCreator solving and how is that benefiting you?** If you develop on Windows and are looking for something that's fast and light-weight then this is one tool that deserves serious consideration. I use JCreator in college. It worked for me in the first years. Then need to move on other platforms as JCreator fell short in functionalities for more complex developments. ### 7. It is a tool that anyone can use and it has adequate functionalities from new users to java specialists. The run-time environment can run your application as an applet, in a JUnit environment or in a command-line window. JCreator's IDE does not require a Java Runtime Environment to execute, which may make it faster than Java-based IDE's. Robot packages can be uploaded, also by using inheritance the users can create new variables, objects and classes as well as methods. **What do you dislike about JCreator?** This can only be used for windows platform. When using the JDK Help feature, the default browser settings may not be honored when opening an external browser for the JDK documentation. It will mostly open Internet Explorer and rarely a default browser not Internet Explorer. No option for temporary highlighting of files. XML highlighting disables itself with really long lines. Custom icons can only be made from 16 colors. **Recommendations to others considering JCreator:** I would like to recommend JCreator both to beginners and specialists. JCreator offers the user a wide variety of features such as: Project management, project models, automatic code completion, debugging interface, editor with syntax highlighting, wizards and a fully customizable user interface. With JCreator you can directly compile or run the Java program without having to activate the main document in the foreground. JCreator will automatically find the file with the main method or the HTML file on which the Java applet is based, then it will start the appropriate tool.
