"Making our OPS run smoothly!"
What do you like best about JAMS?

The notifications that occur when a job fails and the knowledge that it is continually testing is re assuring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The syntax changes in migrating to the latest version. I see the benefits of the changes but it is a little painful to have to change so many of our jobs to meat the new syntax. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Using the JAMS scheduler is easy and is powerful"
What do you like best about JAMS?

I have been using JAMS for about 8 years. Mostly my jobs consist of PowerShell jobs, and they allow for parameters to be used so I can make common functions and create jobs quickly. It allows me to do a lot of specialized jobs for my customers. Their support is excellent, and they get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

I am using JAMS 6.x and have not had any problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! We’re happy to see JAMS is helping you to efficiently create specialized jobs for your customers. If you ever find you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to Support as they are always at your disposal. Thank you again!

"Nice functionality and interface. Very versatile and robust."
What do you like best about JAMS?

The menu is flexible and intuitive. I like being able to customize it for myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Some features are not visible depending on menu selected. i.e. would be nice to view history straight from definition, and likewise view the definition from history. In some cases, we have multiple set ups with the same name but located in different definition folders.

Also would like to see the definition location in the job log file as well as and job completion notifications (I did stumble once on something that may allow this to be configured but can not locate it now in the help).

I believe the SQL Agent Method is fairly new and it seems to have some issues with jobs running in a continual repeat cycle. We are working through testing solutions for that, but I don't think the support team is well versed in all the advanced details to resolve issues and possible bugs. "JAMS IUH Review"
What do you like best about JAMS?

Since implementing JAMS 3 years ago, it has been the most problem-free solution of all that my team supports.

The layout of definitions and the ability to add comments at multiple levels of step build within properties are very helpful.

Controlling the failure severity notifications is a plus.

Log file review is convenient in diagnosing connection issues and general debugging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

There is very little to dislike about JAMS. The only drawback is the apparent limitation on security to control the definition views. We have several different support teams using JAMS in our organization and sometimes it would be helpful to not see the entire organization's listing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

Thanks for the awesome review! We appreciate your feedback. It’s great to see you're enjoying the layout of definitions and the ability to add comments at multiple levels. Also, thanks for your feedback on the definition views. I have shared this information with our product team. If there's ever anything that you need from us, don't be shy and feel free to reach out directly to your account representative or JAMS support. Thanks!

"Great partnership; Excellent support; Solid Batch Processing; Great automation for PROD deployments"
What do you like best about JAMS?

Overall, we are delighted with the flexibility of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler and the ability to leverage technology to further integrate into nightly batch processing and automate upgrades/fixes for core business applications to release through our project lifecycle (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD). I can't say enough about their support. Most companies have forgotten what customer service is and the importance of having great help. I can say that is not the case for this solution. They have an excellent support bench able to assist you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

With all technology, I am sure you can find something that needs to be changed. Through our partnership, we share what needs to be changed, and the company works to add this to their roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

Thanks for the 5-star review of JAMS. It’s great to see you are enjoying the flexibility of JAMS while leveraging its technology to further integrate into your nightly batch processing. We can't thank you enough for your kind words about our support team, I will be sure to pass along the message. As always, if there's ever anything that you need from us, don't be shy and feel free to reach out directly to your account representative or JAMS support. Thanks again!

"JAMS Automation Software Saves Me TIME!!!"
What do you like best about JAMS?

JAMS Job Scheduler is one of the most helpful programs that I use. There are so many programs that must be run at specific times, and in specific order and JAMS does it all! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Learning curve may seam daunting, but it really is not. Once you try automating a few simple tasks and then stringing them together you will truly see all sorts of possibilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

Thanks for the 5-star review of JAMS. We’re glad our solution is helping you automate the many manual tasks and processes needed for your role. It's great to see you are enjoying the notification features to keep you informed when a job has been successfully completed or failed. If you ever find you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to Support as they are always at your disposal. Thank you again!

"JAMS is an efficient scheduler tool"
What do you like best about JAMS?

The user interface (UI) is simple to use and has functions for every scenario. My favorite feature is the workflow since it keeps the task looking presentable while yet performing it effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

It still requires improvement. I recently tried using the Parallel feature and discovered it had an issue after contacting your support team. I do, however, have a use case for that feature, but the bug has put it on hold right now. Additionally, I think this program has a lot of hidden functions that users aren't aware of, thus I think it needs a comprehensive manual that thoroughly explains each feature with examples. "So Far So Good"
What do you like best about JAMS?

We bought JAMS about six months ago to replace a legacy scheduler.

The system is easy to install and doesn't need a lot of admin.

There are lots of different execution methods. I chose Powershell, which has the most functionality. JAMS allows you to extend it, so you can create your library of scripts that can be reused.

It's easy to monitor what's currently executing and view the history of what's happened and what's coming up.

The support I've received from JAMS has been brilliant. It's like hitting a Tennis ball over the net; sometimes, the replies come back that quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

I haven't found anything yet, that has hampered my use of the application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

Thanks for the 5-star review of JAMS! It’s great to hear you're enjoying the easy-to-install and monitor platform. Lastly, we're glad our support team has been so attentive. If there's ever anything that you need from us, don't be shy and feel free to reach out directly. Thanks again!
