## Jamf Reviews
  ### 1. Jamf Pro Product Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maruf S. | Technical Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Jamf Pro makes managing Apple devices seamless and centralised. I like how easy it is to automate deployments, enforce security policies, and push apps or updates remotely. Its integration with Apple’s ecosystem (MDM, DEP, VPP) is smooth, saving a lot of time for IT teams. The reporting and inventory tracking are also very reliable, which makes compliance and troubleshooting much easier.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

The interface can feel a bit outdated and sometimes confusing for new admins. Certain workflows, like advanced configuration profiles or complex policies, require extra steps and can be time-consuming. The cloud console performance can also be slow at times, especially when running large reports. Pricing is on the higher side compared to other MDMs, which might be challenging for smaller organizations

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jamf Pro helps us centrally manage all our macOS and iOS devices, ensuring security compliance and consistency across the fleet. It streamlines deployment with zero-touch provisioning, enforces policies, and makes app/patch management much easier. By automating tasks like software updates, security configurations, and device inventory, it saves significant admin time and reduces errors. End users benefit from faster onboarding, fewer IT touchpoints, and a smoother overall experience.

  ### 2. If you're serious about managing Apple devices, this is the only logical option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

The organisation is hyper-focused on the Apple experience, and it shows through in the way the product is configured. If you understand how Apple products work, the layout & structure of Jamf Pro will make sense to you. It's extremely feature rich - and they support devices on Day 0, so I know that any new Apple features will be configurable shortly after in the management platform.

Their customer support is good, and when tapping into it as a partner it's even better - the local channel team is excellent and we find that we get great support in deploying the product. The interface is fairly simple to use, and the product itself is relatively simple to deploy, however I would recommend that you take advantage of a Jumpstart if it's your first time using the product as it's a great primer.

The product integrates well with other key line of business applications, and the support for integration with Intune for device compliance makes it a great complement to teams that use multiple platforms. Recently introduced Android support is great too.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

It's a premium product, and so comes with a premium price tag. In terms of value, we think it hits the mark however if you're a casual user you may find it to be a little too premium for your liking.

I think the Jamf School / Jamf Pro product lineup can be confusing - it feels like School is too simplified and lacks the power and capability of the Jamf Pro product lineup. I'd rather see them extend Jamf Pro with some of the School capabilities, maybe have an alternative UI for teachers and then consolidate onto a single platform. School still seems totally disconnected and to be honest a little pointless given the power & capability of the Pro product.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's critical that we understand the health and compliance state of devices within an organisation, and Jamf Pro supports it, regardless of our device ownership strategy. The product is flexible and powerful.

  ### 3. If you manage an Apple fleet, Jamf Pro is hard to beat

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh S. | I.T. Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Jamf Pro is critical to my day-to-day IT operations and has completely transformed our workforce device deployment. Zero-touch configuration (via Apple Business Manager automated device enrollment) is genuinely a game-changer—new Macs go from shrink-wrap to fully compliant with apps, profiles, and security controls in minutes without IT ever touching the device. Smart Groups, policies, and scripts let us automate baselines, enforce compliance, and push software reliably, while Self Service empowers employees to help themselves. Reporting and patch management give us the visibility we need to stay ahead.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

There’s a learning curve, and some workflows (PPPC/system extensions, complex Smart Group logic) can take more clicks than you’d expect. The admin console can feel sluggish during large recalculations, and documentation depth varies across newer macOS features.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zero-touch configuration (via Apple Business Manager automated device enrollment) is genuinely a game-changer—new Macs go from shrink-wrap to fully compliant with apps, profiles, and security controls in minutes without IT ever touching the device

  ### 6. Simple UI and Strong Enterprise Catalog with Smooth Jamf Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Simple UI and great enterprise catalog. Integration with Jamf setup manager for a great onboarding experience as well.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

Below are pain points.
Upgrade with self service plus and updates been very painful.
To many portals to logon with lack of SSO integration.
No automation with Intune registration for partner compliance.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hoping multi admin approval will be a thing so admins can delete to many devices at once.
Hoping better version control with self service plus is on the road map.

  ### 7. The definitive tool for Apple device management.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Jamf Pro has some of the most straightforward enterprise integrations, such as Cloud IdP with Microsoft, SSO, and variety of configurations supporting the identity needs of organizations. Built in compliance and a robust set of DDM controls via blueprints are welcome recent additions to the platform. GUI interface updates have brought it up to par visually with newer light weight mdm vendor solutions.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

Jamf Account OIDC SSO configuration can be clunky and is required for Blueprints and Compliance. Support cases are now locked behind an AI assistant, which also requires the Jamf cloud services enabled through Jamf Account OIDC SSO. Scoping is almost too granular, welcome for deep control but tedious in practice.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves for SMB needing compliance workflows or accessing an end point condition that unlocks enterprise functionality for our managed services, allowing customers to dream big on what they can achieve in their environment.

  ### 8. Powerful Automation, but macOS-First Features Leave iOS/iPadOS Feeling Like Intune

API management is a work in progress. Dashboard compliance for blueprints is only capable via the api endpoint and makes researching and understand why a blueprint failed on a machine tedious.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam S. | IT Service Desk Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

The available community for support. The options for on-premises or cloud server. The user interface has been refreshed and is even better looking. They have good customer support options. They have made finding settings easier to find and use. The integration we have was a pretty easy setup to get started and rolling with.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

There are still times where it could be easier to setup some automated processes and check ins with mobile devices can fall off after no contact for a few months. Could be an Apple issue but maybe finding a way to cache locally some things for a reset would be helpful.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jamf Pro is helping solve use cases of quickly setting up devices remotely or in person and deploying them with an app we need for virtual meetings. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon S. | Head of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Coming from the MSP space I have used every MDM available to support clients directly or indirectly. Jamf is the most powerful and most configurable MDM tool I have found. Having worked with all of them, my first MDM recommendation to all my clients is Jamf.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

There are some settings that require choices/settings to be configured in other settings locations which often makes you have to backtrack with the potential of losing work. Once you get the vibe of how the system works, though that’s not a regular issue.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Device management. I have a single pain of glass where I can see all of my laptops, desktop, and mobile devices. I can quickly support those devices, provide updates and deploy software quickly for my users.

Using JAMF Pro is so easy and you will be hard pressed to find a better product.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

We haven't found one yet. Weekly my techs are telling me new features they love about the product.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We really needed a MDM to manage our computers and devices. In our organization, we have a mixed environment with PC's, Mac laptops, iPad's and iPhones. JAMF Pro has helped us managed our macs like we have with our PC's as well as streamline our onboarding of new users with our Macs.

Centralizing endpoint management

  ### 28. The best MDM for Apple devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis B. | Sysadmin, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Jamf Pro is the most flexible and powerful tool to manage Apple devices. Policies and Configuration Profiles are a straightforward process. Smart Groups help you to apply settings to only selected devices. It integrates seamlesly with Entra IdP. Jamf Connect accounts password are always in sync avoiding having two separate accounts. PreStage Enrollments makes the process of enrolling machines easier. Extension Attributes allows you to create your own attributes and then utilize them to scope policies, config profiles, etc. Mac Apps installer is great way to manage applications lifecycle, from installation to patching. Jamf Support is one of the best Support teams in the industry. When you open a support ticket, a knowledgeable engineer takes your case and if they cannot fix the issue the ticket gets escalated with a SME within hours.

For Jamf Pro implementation there are two flavors, on-prem and Cloud. Having it in the cloud is easier because you don't have to worry about servers, storage, networking, etc. Only an internet connection is required and Jamf Pro server patching is done automatically or can be done on demand once a new version is released.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

as every product it has its downsides but those are mostly things that one would prefer instead of other. For example, when using Mac Apps installers, there’s no way to tweak how often apps get deployed. Sometimes it can take up to 6 hours to install one. But honestly, that’s not too bad when you think about how other MDMs can take 24 hours or even longer to push or install an app.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A device can be deployed faster, usually takes about 20 minutes and another 40 to 50 minutes to install the apps that user needs depending on the case. Mac Apps installers makes application lifecycle very easy. There are a lot of third-party solution for app lifecycle like Installomator, which is a great tool to automate app patching and updates.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

Could do with being able to apply certain restrictions easier.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management and securing of ipd.

⸻

8. Self Service
	•	Give users access to approved apps, scripts, and settings via a branded portal
	•	Cuts down on help desk tickets while keeping control

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

1. UI/UX Can Be Clunky
	•	Some areas of the admin console (like PreStage scope editing or extension attribute editing) feel dated and unintuitive.
	•	Searching and filtering across multiple tabs isn’t smooth—no quick “global search” for devices and users.

⸻

2. Limited Visibility Into Deployment Logs
	•	You can deploy policies or profiles, but there’s no unified log view to see exactly why something failed across devices.
	•	You’re often flipping between logs, smart groups, and history per machine.

⸻

3. Smart Groups Can Lag
	•	Sometimes there’s a noticeable delay before Smart Groups update after a config or inventory change—especially annoying during testing.

⸻

4. No Native Multi-Tenant Support
	•	JAMF isn’t ideal if you manage multiple orgs or sub-divisions.
	•	Everything lives in a single tenant, so access control and data separation are limited.

⸻

5. Patch Management Gaps
	•	While it covers the basics, JAMF’s patch management still lacks depth (e.g., no automated rollback, limited third-party app coverage unless using external tools like AutoPkg or Kinobi).

⸻

6. macOS OS Updates Can Be Flaky
	•	Forcing major macOS updates remotely is still hit-or-miss depending on SecureToken, user presence, or MDM support.
	•	“Force updates” may fail silently without useful error feedback.

⸻

7. PreStage Confusion with ABM Syncing
	•	As you recently dealt with—PreStage enrollments sometimes don’t sync cleanly with ABM, leading to ghost enrollments or devices stuck in auto-enroll loops.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I think about what Jamf Pro is really doing for us, it comes down to control, scale, and security — without adding overhead.

First, zero-touch deployment has been a game-changer. I can ship a Mac straight from Apple to a remote employee, and by the time they log in, it’s already configured with all the right apps, settings, and security policies. We’re not spending time hand-holding setups or walking people through configuration over Zoom. It just works — most of the time.

Second, Jamf helps us stay compliant. Whether it’s keeping macOS versions current, enforcing FileVault, or making sure antivirus is installed and active, we’re using smart groups and automated policies to catch issues before they become a problem. That visibility has saved us a lot of fire drills.

Then there’s the remote management side. I can push scripts, install software, or remove a rogue profile from a machine without anyone bringing it in or mailing it back. And when you’re working with a lean IT team, that kind of control matters.

We’ve also tied Jamf into our identity provider, so users authenticate using their SSO credentials, and that’s what unlocks the Mac. No shared accounts, no local admin workarounds — it’s secure and simple.

Finally, Jamf gives us real inventory. I know who’s compliant, who’s out of date, and who hasn’t checked in — and I can prove it if I need to. That’s huge for audits, trade-ins, and just keeping our environment clean.

Is it perfect? No — syncing with ABM can still be a little frustrating, and the UI isn’t exactly intuitive. But overall, it’s solved more problems than it’s caused, and it’s become a core part of how we manage Apple devices at scale.

  ### 31. An Amazing Upgrade

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin O. | IT Specialist Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Having my devices under managed care is the reason I do not need an assistant. The ease of use combined with the confidence of knowing my devices will not be lost, stolen, out dated and disconnected extinguishes my worry over the fold. Every time I log into the Jamf Pro software I find another gem to use in the management of my devices. Peace of mind and ease of use are what make this a winner for our company. I use this application so often, 50 + times a week, I could not do what I do for our company without Jamf. Your software has made me a superstar with the team as they are always amazed at control I have over the devices and applications. Thank You for making me look real good.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

Every time I question "if" something is possible with Jamf Pro I usually find it is. My disappointment lasts minuets and then I am happy again. Nothing so far has made me dislike this application.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have over a hundred devices and more to come. Jamf makes my job easy and allows me to implement other services as i am not chained to the MDM software. I work alone and manage 170+ mobile devices, 52 PC's , a server room, security systems, and every credential for windows and apple and I can do this because of Jamf. What a time saver.

  ### 32. Management of School devices at the click of a button!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra B. | Member of Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

It is very user friendly and easy to navigate. It is intuitive. Making changes to managed systems happen almost instantaneously. Things are easy to do and manage with minimal training. Responses from the support team are good and if not able to resolve a query, are positive about the interaction. I use it daily, and have not experienced any issues when trying to implement any changes on our devices or to our classes. We use it with Apple Classroom, and the two work seemlesly together.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

There is nothing - even when the odd issue crops up, JAMF support are quick to assist or give feedback.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to have control over around 700 or so devices, meaning that teaching and learning is not disrupted by individual learner actions. This means we can teach with confidence, knowing learners are focused in class, and also that learners and teachers have everything they need at the click of a button.

  ### 33. Robust system, great customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon D. | Network Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

Jamf Pro makes it really easy for us to manage our iPads and MacBooks. The app catalog for MacBooks is especially helpful, so we don't have to package software as often. Being able to customize the way our devices enroll is also helpful. It integrates with Google, which means that our students and staff can have the same login information across the board. The more we learn about its capabilities, the more fine tuned we can be with our management, but even with our basic knowledge at the beginning we could set it up well enough to get things started. The best thing about Jamf, though, is the customer service team. They are diligent and helpful and quick to either find you a solution or find the right person to get you a solution.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

There are some features that they are lacking or are behind other MDMs in developing. It seems like between them and Mosyle, it's always a race to see who is going to implement what first and better. Mosyle was first to implement an app catalog and admin privilege requests, and their user interface looks a lot more user friendly than Jamf. Some aspects in Jamf, like configuration profiles, it can be difficult to know what settings mean without having a deep working knowledge of Apple's infrastructure. It would be nice if settings had a description of "enabled means this" and "disabled means this".

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps our device management and asset database all in one place. We have one pane of glass for seeing our fleet of devices.

  ### 34. Easy to use and easy to maintain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon A. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Jamf?**

I like how easy it is to get going and make changes. You can be as advanced as you want or as simple as you want and things work either way. It has really helped us solve a lot of issues quickly that were happening when our devices were not managed properly.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

Most of the downsides we have are not even related to JAMF itself but more than likely our own enviroment and users. With that being said we do have an issue of devices losing contact with JAMF services and never being able to recover even though the show in the JAMF portal but a simple wipe which takes total time from wipe to user working is 30min for us so its not a huge issue.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to deploy things to our remote users and in office users with ease and empower users to be self suffecient in a lot of areas as we just add things to self service or send a something via JAMF and it gets done in the background its great.

  ### 35. Jamf Pro is the standard in Enterprise Device Management for Apple devices-macOS, iOS, iPadOS,tvOS

When it comes to using the app store, end-users do not need to ask for assistance from helpdesk agents in order to download, install, and update applications.

**What do you dislike about Jamf?**

Some features sometimes do not work or fail and prevent other configuration profiles/features from working correctly. 99.9% there is no failure and only 0.01% chances is there if cloud portal is down or cashe increased.

**What problems is Jamf solving and how is that benefiting you?**
