I have found the user interface to be very clear and visual, compared to alternatives that I have used in the past. This helps when using Jama, and in particular when using Jama to explain concepts to colleagues who are non-experts (e.g the Traceability Information Model). It is not always clear how to set the Items up (e.g. fields and relationships) in the Admin tab, and online resources don't always specify when different options should be used. For example, why certain fields can or cannot be viewed in a Pie Chart dashboard. This led to me having to examine a Template Project and infer how to reproduce things via trial and error. I like Jama Connect for its flexibility to set up according to my needs. I can design and update new items and build my system of items, focusing and tracing specific things. JAMA Connect provides a platform where the source of the truth of the project can be captured and detailed. The best part of it is probably the Trace View area which can show 1:1 direct traceability issues across a snapshot of one of the requirement holding areas such as User Needs to Engineering requirements.

It is very easy to write a requirement and the templates are especially useful to create a consistent context and format. For User Needs and User mapping this is especially useful. Very easy to implement changes and cascade to the team.

Very strong customer support and engagement from JAMA. If we have an issue we know it will be listened to and we will get response in a quick time-frame.

One downside to JAMA Connect in it's present form is the lack of overall visibility of the end-to-end User Need to validation journey. It would be great for the full coverage explorer of traceability to be easily interacted with dynamically. The customisation to add '' Show Relationships in Tree' should really be there already to allow the user to start at the inputs and lead all the way through. We had a 'DTM' template created but it doesn't really pick up Validation or verification plans/ reports very effectively.

Test Plans and Verification feels a bit buried in the software and it is not intuitively obvious to get to. Similarly, creating a validation plan or protocol to then be pulled through in a template is similarity quite difficult to do.

The editing of templates is quite difficult and it would be better if there was a customisation tool to allow the creation of a template without having to rely on the creation of velocity reports which take months to develop. It is not an efficient process of doing this. A simple tweak to a template takes a lot of effort and this should not be the case.

The Review process could be much improved as the workflows currently allow approval of rejected items in a review. If the entirety of a module is sent for a review with varying Transition States then there should be a smarter workflow or more customisation of a workflow. I have had many reviews with comments that go through and rejected items have been approved. I then have to remember what was rejected and make a manual note to then go back and change them from approved to rework. The up-revision of a new review completely wipes all previous approval but it would be ideal if something previously approved is flagged differently in the review.

In general there feels only one of doing things on JAMA and I think there could be more optimisation or tabs and customisation to allow better ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the traceability feature of Jama Connect because it allows me to map my own processes through workflows. Additionally, I appreciate the filter tool, which allows me to identify and correct process deviations early. Defining workflows helps us to map our certification-relevant processes with tool support. Combined with the integrated traceability through the relationship functionality, we can very well demonstrate compliance with standards, from the requirement to implementation and the subsequent test. I find the UI/UX of Jama Connect not intuitive. New users require a lot of training, and I found the cloud version sometimes very slow. The initial setup was also a bit bumpy - it requires some prior knowledge to adequately map your own processes. While Jama Connect is excellent for requirements management and traceability, its SysML capabilities are more focused on supporting requirements-driven engineering workflows rather than serving as a full MBSE modeling environment. For me personally, I really enjoy how easy it is to create item types and relationships. The customizability of each item type also makes it simple to categorize each item in a way that fits our needs. I like that Jama Connect creates full end-to-end traceability from requirements through to validation, giving my team a holistic view of requirements. I believe on-premise implementations of Jama Connect are unable to use the Jama Connect Advisor or JCA, which is a drawback. We would have to find a workaround to use AI agents outside of Jama to help facilitate requirements management processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I mostly like the review features as well as the trace management in Jama Connect. Being able to moderate reviews and send reviews to users that may not be directly working in Jama is really great. Some user management aspects could be better. I find locking a creator float license to 120 minutes frustrating when user numbers rise throughout the day. Adjusting this time would be a huge improvement. Also, the downgrading of those same licenses to Reviewer (float) is another issue. I have some specific nitpicks that, if resolved, would make the tool a lot easier to use. I wish I could move a selection of multiple items to different places in the explorer without first moving them one by one into a folder first.
