One can completely customise their item types and dictate the desired (and optional) traceability between those custom item types. Moreover, the automatic versioning of requirements and the ability to have enduring comments on requirements helps with a project/product that has been in a live environment for a number of years. This way, the exact meaning of requirements through its varying versions can always be validated. Although the layout of Jama takes some time to get accustomed to, the menus are very intuitive and it is usually clear how one should navigate the environments. We have not had the opportunity to integrate our Jama set with other often-used tooling in the industry, but the fact that Jama offers such integration capabilities is very useful for an organisation such as ours **What do you dislike about Jama Connect?** There are so minor complexities that one could bump into whilst trying to organise the Jama environment to your own needs and desires in spite of its modularity. These can be circumvented through different design choices, but could initially hamper creativity. For example, a requirement can only be attributed to one Release, whilst it was our wish to let it come back in several Releases as part of different requirements packages. Moreover, the lacking of a visual 'family tree-esque' traceability overview can make the structure a bit more difficult in larger projects **What problems is Jama Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Jama helps us by providing a platform to properly record and subsequently manage requirements of the business of our organisation and then translate those in technical requirements. Tremendous customer support - While during the evaluation process of the other tools the team had to process the manual or follow length tutorials and onboarding sessions, with Jama the learning curve has been much faster: less than half of the time spent in onboarding/training session with far better results). **What do you dislike about Jama Connect?** The configuration, for instance of relationship rules is system-wide and not per-project which is not ideal for contract development / manufacturing as he customer has its own specific needs. However, it is easy to understand the rationale behind it to streamline and standardize all developments within most companies. Fortunately, we can still create as many configurations as we like, one for each project if needed. Jama Connect was easy to get started and integrate into our work life. It immediately provided us with greate traceablity between our requirements. The review process previously took many meeting now with the Review Center feature people can do it any time and it is easy to cooperate with comments and in field edits. The reuse option helps us to get started with product variants much faster compared to previous times. **What do you dislike about Jama Connect?** Due to the many available feature in Jama Connect, you need to prepare and allocate reasources that can investigate/design and build your requirement managment system. For us due to the inexperience in requirement handling in the company sometimes it was difficult to figure out how to get from one step to the next. I often use the search and version history features to quickly reference requirements from previous projects. I also am able to make bulk changes with ease. **What do you dislike about Jama Connect?** Jama Connect doesn't have a feature that allows us to create redlined requirement exports. Certain changes, like moving around the order of requirements, takes a few moments to process. **What problems is Jama Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Jama gives us one version controlled space to maintain our entire requirements repository. The short timeout before it logs you out is also frequently annoying. I don't think I have any major complaints besides these minor usability factors. **What problems is Jama Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not sure if this falls under your company's side of things or mine, but I have heard of some adjustements that will be made such that we can use JAMA requirements as a source of truth themselves, instead of having to export everything into SAP/Teamcenter. The new users will not take much time to start using Jama. 2- Licences flexibility: Jama offers a very competitive licencing models. 3-Collaboration: Jama's collaboration Stream is a very good way to check out what your stakeholders have been exchanging about. -Formalizing reviews: In Jama you can formalize the requirements 'contract' with other stakeholders to make sure that everyone is alligned about what needs to be done. 4-Jama is great with reuse and variants management. Jama quickens the time to value when in a new project. 5- Good reports templates and possibility of creating your own report template to be generated later. 6-Jama teams are very helpful and responsive. 7-Ease of administration **What do you dislike about Jama Connect?** -The %of requirements coverage can't be seen live in the trace view of the tool: a report has to be exported. -To compare baselines you need to export a report: it's not possible to have a live comparaison in the tool. -The 'sync items' view to compare reused variants in Jama is slower in terms of loading. We can't create a filter based on the 'sync status' which may be a specific need however, it was an important one to us at a certain time. -The test management feature is less intuititive than the requirements' one. **What problems is Jama Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** -Creating traceability. -Centralize requirements. -Formalizing stakeholders reviews. -Go item based requirements management. -Change impact analysis: We were able to benefit from this feature. -Projects reuse: We reused projects and managed variants. **Official Response from Decoteau Wilkerson:** > Thank you for taking the time to share your review, Khalil! Exceptional user interface that is intuitive to the requirement newbies and robust enough for experienced requirement writers. **What do you dislike about Jama Connect?** Can't really think of a dislike, I think there are opportunities to improve the reporting mechanisms and automation of workflows, but the current product offers enough to get the job done. **What problems is Jama Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is solving basic requirements management and process for finalization.
