What do you like best about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

I really like JAMA's ability and flexibility in keeping a large number of requirements (among other things) organized, as well as it's connectivity to JIRA and other Atlassian software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

The software can feel really slow at times. The short timeout before it logs you out is also frequently annoying. I don't think I have any major complaints besides these minor usability factors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Jama Connect for Requirements Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not sure if this falls under your company's side of things or mine, but I have heard of some adjustements that will be made such that we can use JAMA requirements as a source of truth themselves, instead of having to export everything into SAP/Teamcenter. Perhaps we can look more closely at the performance issues you explained to better understand what is happening. In the meantime, I wanted to share an article that may help with your note about slow response time. This article, "Jama Performance In Enterprise Recommendations for System Administrators" - https://community.jamasoftware.com/blogs/preston-lastname/2019/05/02/jama-performance - provides several guardrails for overall performance in Jama Connect. Also, if you'd like, you can look into extending your default time-out session. If you are using a hosted version of Jama Connect, our Support team can assist with extending this.

What do you like best about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

1- Ergonomic: The tools is intuitive and super easy to use. The new users will not take much time to start using Jama.

2- Licences flexibility: Jama offers a very competitive licencing models.

3-Collaboration: Jama's collaboration Stream is a very good way to check out what your stakeholders have been exchanging about.

-Formalizing reviews: In Jama you can formalize the requirements 'contract' with other stakeholders to make sure that everyone is alligned about what needs to be done.

4-Jama is great with reuse and variants management. Jama quickens the time to value when in a new project.

5- Good reports templates and possibility of creating your own report template to be generated later.

6-Jama teams are very helpful and responsive.

What do you dislike about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

-The %of requirements coverage can't be seen live in the trace view of the tool: a report has to be exported.

-To compare baselines you need to export a report: it's not possible to have a live comparaison in the tool.

-The 'sync items' view to compare reused variants in Jama is slower in terms of loading. We can't create a filter based on the 'sync status' which may be a specific need however, it was an important one to us at a certain time.

*It's possible you may be able to see the type of coverage mentioned above by creating dashboard widgets for visual rollups. We could look at this more closely to understand if this option would match your needs.

*Regarding the Baseline Comparison note - we will have a Baseline Comparison feature released in the tool with the release of Jama Connect 8.85. We hope this will help!

*The Sync Items View might be slowing down based on the size of the set you're looking at. It is hard to know without taking a closer look. We'd love to work on this with you and see what might be contributing to this performance issue.

What do you like best about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

It helps in identifying requirements that have not been linked to their parent or children requirements. It also helps in identifying which requirements have no testing associated with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

If a requirement is deleted in a child project, there is no provision of automatically syncing this deletion back to master project. The requirement has to be manually deleted in master project as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that creating requirements are pretty straightforward and it is simple to organize them into different folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't really like the experience of tracking requirements for certain software releases. I wish there was a better way to label requirements or organize them by different software versions. Charging extra for a functional safety kit when the product is advertised as having a functional safety framework (automotive/medical etc.) is borderline trade descrptions violation. Regarding your feedback about the Functional Safety Kit (FSK) - while Jama Connect has an FSK available, we do not advertise that it is included with the platform at no extra cost. The FSK holds value for customers looking to accelerate their development, however, it is up to each customer to choose whether to purchase it. Though an FSK is not required for functional safety, it certainly helps teams achieve it faster through pre-configured settings and reports.

What do you like best about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

Jama is great for requirements management and traceability to requirements, test cases and other objects you may have in your workflow. Customization is relatively easy to set up new times and relationships. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jama Connect for Requirements Management?

The Project Dashboard capabilities are fairly limiting and customization of the dashboard is minimal. You aren't able to report on the same field across mixed types which is really annoying which makes you so have to create separate graphs which really clutters the dashboard. For some reason they decided to change the test terminology and call a "test run" the execution of a single test case and a "test cycle" what most other call a test run which is the execution of a collection of test cases. Jama connect solves the requirements review and approval process allowing you to easily setup requirements reviews to be reviewed offline which helps when working in different locations or timezones.
