I use iWave almost daily. I believe that the information from iWave is more accurate than any other platform I have used. I have used 2 other platforms in my career. Their screening services are very easy to use. The template allows for additions based on the information in our CRM. Exporting the data is easy, and the information is simple to edit and the reports in PDF form allow me to work them into usable profiles, although I do wish there was more customization allowed. The giving history seems to be very inclusive of what I can find and more. Our current CRM (Netsuite) does not have any integrations with iWave so unfortunately I cannot speak to that. Finding properties is always daunting, and iWave is able to connect the address to LLCs. Property values are within acceptable ranges as to what is found in other Sources. I like that their smart alerts are ongoing, once you opt in. It allows me to see any new information on my donor/prospect as it comes up. Customer support is top notch. I work with Jaxon to go over tools or areas that I may need clarification on. He was a great asset when I was first using the product. He showed me how easy batch screenings are to upload and review. Overall iwave is easy to use, and I have found no issues with performance at all. Pricing is very fair and the company was very supportive in working with me as we were looking into changing CRM's. **What do you dislike about iWave?** When using iWave, I would like the ability to add or remove from the Board Highlights section. That is the only section I have found where editing is not allowed. I wish that there were more options for the profiles. It helps identify the correct person and gives me a strong starting point for further research. Another feature I use regularly is the reverse address lookup. Being able to enter a known address and uncover additional properties associated with that prospect has been incredibly helpful for building a more complete picture of their real estate holdings. I've found properties this way that I may not have discovered through a standard search. The interface is also very intuitive and easy to navigate. I appreciate being able to display up to 25 search results at once, which lets me review multiple potential matches efficiently without constantly switching pages. Overall, iWave has become the prospect research tool I rely on most. It saves significant time, especially for a small development shop where efficiency is essential. **What do you dislike about iWave?** Overall, I've had a great experience with iWave, but there are a few workflow improvements that would make it even more efficient. One of my biggest pain points is that the profile search defaults to "Just My Profiles" every time. Since I almost always search "All Profiles," having the option to save that as the default or toggle it permanently would eliminate an extra step from nearly every search. Another challenge is navigating between a prospect profile and other research tools within iWave. If I'm viewing a profile and then open 360 Search or another data source to gather additional information, I have to search for that prospect again to reopen the profile. Keeping the current profile open or allowing it to remain pinned while navigating between tools would make it much easier to refresh capacity scores and update profiles without interrupting my workflow. Finally, I would love to see the mass wealth screening lists display the estimated giving capacity value, not just the capacity range. Currently, the estimated value is only available after exporting the results. Having that information visible directly within the screening list would make it much easier to prioritize prospects and analyze results without the extra export step. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having iWave integrated with Raiser's Edge NXT allows us to quickly screen prospects directly from our database with a single click. I would love to be able to search by metropolitan area. I'm not a fan of the alerts service - I haven't found it intuitive to use. I'm also not a fan of the obituaries - it doesn't seem to find many. If I had to name one thing, it would be more contact information. Seems to be heavily based on real estate, which I get but not the most accurate representation of someones wealth for our purposes. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** The efficiency and lead time to get as complete a picture of a donor is much, much faster using Iwave. As a nonprofit, a lack of efficiency can really weigh a small organization down, so this makes a noticeable difference. It provides the most information and most accurate information on individuals. There are so many ways to search - I love that I can reverse search and see what donors are giving to a certain nonprofit. Or I can search a specific person to drill down. The wealth screenings are of course an invaluable tool. I can't remember a time that I've had glitches or performance issues - it is a reliable product that I used daily. The staff at iWave is super helpful as well. I haven't used any of the integrations - I'm not totally sure what would be available / helpful to me as a consultant. I think so! I run a lean operation - iWave is one of my only business expenses. I couldn't do my work without it. **What do you dislike about iWave?** The wealth screening outputs are thorough but a bit overwhelming. With 60+ columns of data to sort through, it takes some time to make the raw data digestible for a fundraiser to use. The summary document that accompanies the screen is good, but not great. Of course there are the run of the mill prospect research issues - similar names throwing off the screen / smart search features, etc. -- these things, which are a natural part of human research, make me nervous to use an AI features. The user interface is intuitive and the results are relatively accurate. The pricing is fair for the return on investment. We haven't had any performance or integration issues and customer support is responsive. **What do you dislike about iWave?** I do not get good look alike audiences. The prospecting features don't seem to work for us and the obituary feature doesn't pick up most rural or small town news articles that list those, only major national databases. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** we use iWave to create more comprehensive snapshots of our donors however it is harder to track now that more and more donors are using DAFs at places like Fidelity or Community Foundations which offer a level of obscurity. ### 14. I love iWave's 360 Search for deep dives into specific donor prospects. One simple search returns all possible matches across all of iWave's datasets, allowing me to easily put together a profile manually. Their Smart Search feature is also really helpful for quicker research and profile creation. I also really appreciate the customization options iWave provides, which enable us to tweak our results to match our business model. Full screens are quick and easy to submit in the platform. Finally, Live Profiles are a newer feature that I really appreciate and use often, which allow profiles to be kept up-to-date when new records are added to iWave database. This is super helpful for ongoing campaigns and selected profiles from getting stale. **What do you dislike about iWave?** Some prospects with common last names (ie. Johnson, Smith, etc) come back as false positive scores in a screening project. These must be reviewed manually to determine if they are actually a strong prospect or if the system assigned the wrong records to their profile. Certain datasets have a strong influence on the scoring (ie. foundations they serve on frequently determine their affinity rating and overall iWave score). I'd also say that the system's behavior when re-screening prospects that were previously screened in the past could be improved, as sometimes duplicate profiles are created and it's more difficult to assign labels to keep these profiles organized. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** iWave is helping us evaluate large segments of our database and narrowing those down to smaller prospect leads that can be used for different campaigns. For example, while email campaigns to thousands of prospects are helpful and have success, iWave allows us to identify segments within those prospects who are prime targets for a direct mail piece or for building a list of customer accounts who should be flagged in our system as potential donor prospects for our sales team. Additionally, iWave has been very helpful in conducting one-off research on a particular prospect that our leadership team is looking to learn more about (what causes they support, what boards they serve on, what wealth indicators do they have, etc). ### 15. For what it is, it is a good tool. I regularly use the Smart Screen tool. It also integrates with EveryAction, and I use those quick pulls as well. The ROI is worthwhile for our team, and we share searches across our users. We have excellent support and I was onboarded by a member of iWave's team. I can reach to them with any questions. I am not as familiar with its AI functions. **What do you dislike about iWave?** Sometimes it is missing data points or misinterprets data related to an individual. It is definitely not a replacement for a member of our team individually reviewing prospects and screening information -- it can't do all that and interpret the findings for us. We do still do our own determinations of whether someone is truly a "hidden gem" or "not right now" candidate. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's creating prospect information in one place/one profile and saving it in an organized way, which saves us from creating our own operations/process for prospecting using multiple different tools (so, it consolidates some efforts, even though we do still use multiple tools). ### 16. You do not need an advanced degree in data analytics to use the tool and get actionable results. The price is also a solid deal because, for how often we use it, the subscription pays for itself. iWave also has a great team of support staff ready to do trainings and answer any questions that may arrise while using iWave. **What do you dislike about iWave?** The thing I dislike about iWave is that the data displayed can be slightly out of date. This is not necessarily a fault of iWave, but more a matter of donors getting better at hiding their wealth and giving, and of organizations not always posting their donations. This limits the data, but iWave does its best to find the most up-to-date data. I also wish iWave had better integration with our CRM, Tessitura. There are some integrations, but for the most part, they operate as separate systems. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** iWave solves the issue of being completely in the dark on a donor's giving history and wealth. It is especially helpful for finding charitable giving information, identifying real estate ownership, and getting an overview of a donor. **What do you dislike about iWave?** One challenge I find when using iWave compared to other tools is the difficulty in matching the results to my intended donor. I also absolutely love the screening options before each screening - it's thoughtful and very helpful to be able to change those ratings based on the purpose of each particular screening/project. That's huge. **What do you dislike about iWave?** Their Foundations data is about a year behind oftentimes. It's still more current than the competition, but having to go elsewhere for 2024 Forms 990 and add those gifts manually for my team has been cumbersome. Also the orange-y format and thin lettering is a lot harder to read than their previous version. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** iWave is a time-saver through and through, and it's confidence ratings allow me to work efficiently and have better judgment about the work at hand. Its VeriGift capabilities are unmatched. Also, iWave's format structures, like the columns and filters available, pay attention to what matters without weighing down the work. It's very thoughtful and clear. It also benefits me by making so much of its data exportable to Excel. It helps me find more information about donors and easily discover new prospects. I really like the Smart Sheet feature, which we use the most, along with Smart Search. Smart Search allows us to quickly and easily find new donor prospects along with their contact info. Additionally, the initial setup of iWave was pretty easy. **What do you dislike about iWave?** It's not so easy to find emails for certain people and to also search funders of specific organizations. It would also be helpful to have a plugin for other CRMs like Raiser's Edge so that we can directly import people. **What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use iWave for donor prospecting and research. It helps me find more information about donors and easily find new prospects. I appreciate that it provides kind of a global perspective on donor behavior, both politically and in terms of charitable donations. Once you upload data, iWave helps find a lot of useful information about those donors and can find comparable donors who exist in the same market space. **What do you dislike about iWave?** In order to do an upload for iWave, you have to put the information in a very specific format, and it's not the format that your CRM or donor management platform will spit it out in. So that's really the only point of friction with the software.
