"Tiny terminal which you would love if you were using Mac's own terminal."

What do you like best about iTerm2?

The colours ! Lots of theme can be applied. So many plugins can be added. I use this extension called Oh My Zsh, which is a really cool extension. Gives you a lot of options like themes, auto complete, shortcuts and so much more. Its so light weight. Features like multiple windows and so much more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly configurable Terminal with Script support to customise entire dev workflow"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

Iterm2 with Zsh customisations are the best. Dark theme in iterm2 is a boon to the people who work in night. Zsh have many plugins such as autosuggestions and reverse keyword search to help you run the commands with ease. We can setup hotkeys to manage multiple window configurations.

Community support and Frequent releases makes me love the product more. There is good amount of plugins across the plugin generation yet still the plugin marketplace needs to mature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

Toggling between multiple screens could have had a shortcut. Integrations with system notification for many terminal actions. Resizing makes the terminal break. SSH sessions are not sustained. Integration options are custom built and are not readily available in the internet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"THE macOS terminal"
5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

The terminal application iTerm2 is a must-have for any macOS installation. It is an easier, friendlier, and more feature rich alternative to the bundled macOS Terminal application. The ability to have different profiles for different terminal use cases is invaluable. The timestamp functionality to know when you ran commands is quite useful. The ability to have multiple windowed tabs in different configurations is wonderful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

I find that some of the command shortcuts are not as intuitive as I would expect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Much prettier than the Mac terminal"
5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

Visually it is much nicer to look at than Terminal and you can download skins and such. The font if easier on the eyes and most of the engineers on our team use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

Nothing really. I like it way better than Terminal. It's not very clear how you get cool add-ons. I learned about them by accident. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"External OS X Terminal Replacement"
5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

iTerm has a bunch of useful features that make it an indispensable replacement for the default OS X Terminal application. It supports tabs, split panes, configurable scrollback, and a great set of visual affordances.

The best thing, though, is that it's a first class OS X citizen -- links are clickable, it can be configured to treat tmux sessions as additional windows & panes, and can highlight text based on pre-defined criteria. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

It's so configurable that it can be hard to get setup. Once you have a workflow that works for you, it's great! Getting there can be a bit of an adventure, though. It has a ton of options and documentation to match. However, getting a good setup involves a lot of trial and error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The first thin I install on any new macbook"
5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

If you open up your terminal at least once a week it will make your live a little bit better. If you spend most of your day in a terminal, you can't live without it. I mean you can, but why bother? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

If I'd have a gun to my head, to absolutely name one flaw, maybe I'd say the customisation options for keyboard shortcuts (addig one) might need a bit of clarifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
