What do you dislike about iTerm2?

"First thing I install while setting up my new computer"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

iTerm2 is my goto terminal. This is the first thing I install while setting up my new computer.

The terminal is very lightweight, runs natively, supports a multi-tab layout, split-screen layout, or both.

The kind of settings it provides is limitless. You can really customize it for your liking.

The best features I like are:

- Natural text editing keyboard scheme.

- Keyboard shortcuts

- Split-screen and window management

- Color scheme customizations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

iTerm2 is almost perfect and there is almost nothing I dislike.

There could be a slight improvement in performance when a lot of sessions are open. Other than that, iTerm2 is best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There isn't anything I dislike, it does everything I expect from a command-line application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Terminal with more options"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

It allows to save the profile names and password.I can also set shortcut for those profiles and password which is great the option in iTerm2.It's much faster compared to default mac terminal and it provides more customization options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

If you have multiple tabs and dark theme then it's hard to notify in which tab you are currently working, If that can be identified by some colored dots in the heading of the tab or some good color change it will be easy for he developer. Apart from this I don't have any problem with iTerm2. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iTerm2?

Being able to run my commands on a very very customizable tool, it's usually stable and helps getting things done as expected, also it runs fast and doesn't seem to consume a lof of the computer resources which is always a good thing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

From time to time it's not as stable as I'd like to, nothing too bad, bug if I had something to improve it'd be the stability Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Alternative to native Mac's terminal"
4/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

I have tried a lot of command line applications and i found this to be the best of all. Iterm2 does provide a lot of functionalities. It provides lot of keyboard shortcuts, password manager to save the server passwords. You can create user profiles and assign different setting for each profile. It also does provide various themes and fonts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

It lacks the functionality to auto enter the password when trying to login to the server unlike an app called terminus which auto enters the password if it is saved. So in Iterm2 i need to go to password manager and select the password. If that functionality is incorporated, i do not have any other cons with Iterm2. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best terminal for your Mac"
5/5
What do you like best about iTerm2?

The ability to open multiple tabs and, above all, multiple panels in the same window. I am a developer and vert frequently I need to keep multiple shell opened in the same window.

I like the ability to customize the colors of the shell and the integration with ZSH and nmux that improves a lot the terminal experience.

You can set almost any hotkey combination imaginable. The value in this is improving and streamlining productivity one hotkey at a time.

The application provides also interesting plugins that allows you to speed up your work. For example you can see images within the shell with Image Plugin. Very useful when you are working with folders that contains a lot of images.

Another key iTerm2 feature that I like so much is built-in search, which makes poring over pages-long log files much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iTerm2?

Sometimes keyboards combinations does not work as expected and you need to do a little manual configuration before to work.

Font rendering is not the best in some circumstances but close and reopen the application solves the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
