It is either very zoomed out or very zoomed in and it takes a lot of scrolling to get it done correctly. I used the free version for a while to get the feel of the product and then upgraded. Issuu is great for making page-turner flipbooks from static pdfs. Really easy to use. Upload and hit convert, basically. There are ways to load hotspots in the publication (so people can click and go to webpages or it opens your email etc) They also have a nice set of options when it comes to embedding the finished product afterwards (incl small videos etc). One of the features I like is adding the magazine (publications) to stacks (or groups). You can then feature those groups on a display shelf for people to see (however many you want to display) and click on. Good solid service and reliable. **What do you dislike about Issuu?** As usual most of the best features are paid for. That's reasonable but they need to be a little more competitive with their pricing perhaps. Signing up for longer brings the price down (as usual). With the shelves (on the free version) the display shelf takes you to read on issuu.com. Wish it just opened on the page where you see it (they could still display adverts there too). At one stage we had some HTML that would auto update the current featured magazine on friends websites. This feature seems to have disappeared sadly. We miss it. One of the reasons we began shopping around for other options. We still use it but now on the free service option only. **What problems is Issuu solving and how is that benefiting you?** Making a PDF more interactive. Turning static design into something a bit more exciting. Many people like turning a page and reading things (digitally) in a way similar to reading an old fashioned magazine or book. ### 26. It seems like there should be more Boolean search query filters and settings to allow you to only search for magazines published within a certain time frame or geographical region. **Recommendations to others considering Issuu:** Honestly no down sides. Is lightweight and compatible with most devices without requiring to download special software which makes it perfect for masive sharing. Also comes with a free tier which allowed us to try before purchasing. The flipbook feature is where this shines and also works as a great way to make PDF files available without needing to have your own hosting **What do you dislike about Issuu?** The UI is not very intuitive and some users find it uncomfortable to use. Also is not very easy to finde a way to implement vanity URLs to make it more corporative and unique the sharing experience. Also it doesn't look crisp enough in a world where 4k displays are every day more common. **What problems is Issuu solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use isuu to share catalogs in a way that feels like the direct digital replacement to traditional file sharing. Also allows not tech savy people to host PDF files that need to be shared without using email, which would risk to our domain getting flagged by sending direct files to large email lists. ### 47. The user experience for our audience is great. They can flip through and zoom in on our content-heavy quarterly newletters and read with ease. It's really a tactile experience for our audience and makes us appear more tech-savvy to our audience. **What do you dislike about Issuu?** You'll be added to their marketing list and they'll occassionally do webinars. The headlines are really eye-catching but when you sit in on them, the actual content is lacking. It's very salesy first and many times what was in the headline for the webinar is talked about for 2 minutes and then it moves right into showing the platform and capabilities.
