Unexpectedly it actually offers a really nice, configurable, project management toolset and lends itself to running agile/scrum approaches to meeting compliance goals, but we have also used it to manage other activities which are not just compliance focused simply because it is so straightforward to set up and use. Once you become familiar with the navigation it also provides really clear visibility of progress which saves the historic ways of hunting through spreadsheets for status updates. It's one of those systems which shows its value fairly quickly, but once you get into the swing of it there are many light-bulb moments where the business realises it can do so much more. **What do you dislike about ISMS.online?** Understanding the approach to managing repeat tasks was a headscratcher initially, there are activity due dates, Todos, reminders etc. This can make it hard to establish the best approach to scheduling something like an annual policy review. But, the flexibility of the system allows you to define which of these will work best and you can then configure accordingly, but it would be more straightforward to have a very simple repeat task schedule. **What problems is ISMS.online solving and how is that benefiting you?** Various regulatory compliance needs are now being facilitated by our implementation, this includes - ISO27001 SOC2 NIST 800-171 MaRISK BAIT The main thing is "how" we are now meeting these - Less stringing together of different systems, forgotten tasks, missing evidence, running around days before an audit etc. There is still work to do, but we really are in a totally different position from where we were. With longer use as it fills up with content the system gets better and better with valuable insights. The platform is very well structured but still allows a lot of flexibility. My favorite feature is the "linked work" area, where everything can be linked to anything on the platform. It really helps to have full transparency of the whole content, so for example, a risk can be linked to an asset, a control, an action plan, a norm chapter, an audit result, etc. seamlessly. Then from all these areas, you can directly see that they are linked to this particular risk. The Policy Packs are also a great feature where I could finally close one of my certification audit findings by creating role-based policy and controls packages for the employees to read and access. So, no more searching in the full content of the isms (dozen of policies, hundreds of controls), just the relevant ones for each role. The automatic tracking also makes my life easier. Last but not least, the teams by Alliantist are really great. I had a nice journey, from the onboarding to the support cases I opened. **What do you dislike about ISMS.online?** The tool I like the least in the platform is the management of interested parties. This tool does not share the same template as other areas and is not flexible enough for my taste. I created a new track to manage my stakeholders and found it more helpful than the built-in tool. This issue cost me however about 5 minutes of my time, so no issue at all actually! **What problems is ISMS.online solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me manage all the aspects required for our certification. The platform is taking over many things I had to handle manually previously. Extremely user-friendly to update policies and set reviews/actions across the whole framework. The integrated guidance and training has also been a huge support for the team. The cost-saving regarding staff time or external consultancy is enormous. **What do you dislike about ISMS.online?** No notable issues with the software from my personal use. I would say with some tweaks it could be used for full internal audit and risk procedures comparable to major enterprise software, more of an opportunity. **Recommendations to others considering ISMS.online:** Utilise the risk management section and read the guidance. If you already have a risk management framework then it will allow for you to simply reference if easier but it's great to have things in one place. **What problems is ISMS.online solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are achieving full accreditation whereas before we have been audited against a subset of ISO27001 controls. It has colourful graphs that you can show higher management at management review meetings **What do you dislike about ISMS.online?** On the audit schedule you cannot put an end date in the past, only today's date. If you don't complete the report on the audit date it looks like it is overdue. You cannot embed a template in the system. When you export data it comes out in an awful format. We were promised when we signed up that there was going to be an integration with SharePoint, we thought this would be an actual integration not just a button to upload from one drive **What problems is ISMS.online solving and how is that benefiting you?** We struggled with our risk management and the site has helped us get on top of this area.
