ipgeolocationapi.io is an IP intelligence API that returns geolocation, network, timezone, currency and security data for any IPv4 or IPv6 address through a single REST endpoint. Each lookup includes continent, country, region, city, postal code and coordinates with an accuracy radius, along with ASN, ISP, organization, IANA timezone with DST details, local currency with exchange rates, and country metadata such as calling code, languages and flag assets. An optional security module flags VPN, proxy, Tor, relay and hosting traffic, adds confidence scores and a 0 to 100 threat score, and identifies bots as well as cloud and CDN networks. Beyond geolocation, the platform includes ASN lookup, hostname and abuse contact lookup, user agent parsing, timezone conversion, astronomy data and a daily security threat feed. Responses are available in JSON, XML or CSV, with field filtering, localized place names and bulk lookups that run synchronously or as async jobs with webhook callbacks. Official Python and JavaScript SDKs, a CLI, an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, a Postman collection and an MCP server support developer integration, and no-code connectors cover Zapier, Make, n8n and Google Sheets. Downloadable IP databases are offered in CSV and MMDB formats. Common use cases include fraud prevention, content localization, geo-targeted marketing, compliance checks and analytics enrichment.
