Very clear to add source drives / folders to backup and destination drive (USB removable) to backup to. Backup is password protected zip file (easy and simple to restore in case of any problem). If any backup error, always the log file to check what went wrong to correct it. Also every night email alert with the backup status. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** Nothing to dislike about Iperius, but not sure if it has live SQL database backup, but checking Iperius website, they do have database support now. **Recommendations to others considering Iperius Backup:** It does save you time and money to use Iperius for backup with email alert of backup status. Nothing worse than unable to get the a file or a folder after accidental deletion. Support is brilliant and it very good value for money. Before using Iperius we had to spend a lot of money to recover a dead drive, thankfully with iperius daily backup, we have all that under controil. **What problems is Iperius Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Accidental file(s) deletion is common and Iperius backup was always there to get it us sorted. Also to make sure I have company backup in case of fire or theft. This is vital for company to continue just in case of a disaster recovery. It is basically the kind of sowftware which includes all the options of configuration one can need in a small or middle company. I guess a big company could also use it but this is a bit out of our range. I'm honestly happy I used Cobian in the past but this software gives much better solutions. I seriously recommend it. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** So far I don't have any complaints. All works more than correctly, and the logs show you any error which might occur but by now no errors from the software itself, the errors were due to our server or because some files were in use. I have been using it for many months so far and all seems just right. **Recommendations to others considering Iperius Backup:** If you were using Cobian or similar software (free or pay versions) you can consider Iperius as your new provider. Nonetheless, Cobian wasn't enough as it was lacking configuration features which Iperius vastly provides. It has multiple editions that can meet various need: desktop, essential, advanced tape, advanced DB, advance virtual machine, advance Exchange, and full edition. Users only need to pick what they need. The embedded FTP function is robust, which can automatically back up data to cloud storages, so as to realize the remote disaster recovery. The scheduled backup tasks is what we prefer because it can be done at night when people are not in office. This can save a lot of time, and will not affect the daytime job. The mail notification function is also an important function, because users can receive the backup result information in time. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** We hope the backup function for Linux system can be supplemented soon. The UI is a little bit homogeneous. The tutorials in Chinese are not sufficient. **Recommendations to others considering Iperius Backup:** As it says, it is highly cost-effective. And we strongly recommend it to the potential users. No matter they are big businesses or ordinary users, they can find the right edition that can meets their need. Excellent feature set, including VM backup and imaging Supports multiple destinations per job Supports network and online destinations Iperius does a nice job on the backups; configuration is relatively straightforward. Caveat: it's not "simple" or "intuitive." But, there's no such thing in the backup world, if you ask me. So, considering the market their in, they have an extremely "friendly" interface. (one glitch, that I actually enjoy, is that some of the interface screens haven't been translated into english, yet...so, brush up on your Italian when you use it! not a show-stopper, and I found it more amusing than otherwise. I'm sure they'll fix it, and I'll shed a small tear, and say a quick prayer on that day....) Iperius backs up to NAS(es) easily, which is huge for me. Can handle full backups of windows servers, including the db intensive Exchange and SQL parts. The only downside - which keeps it from perfection, in my book - is retention management. They have a variant of it, but, it feels like a bolt on, and isn't my favorite. I can make it work for my needs, but, it lacks the intentionality that the rest of the program enjoys. If you're backup requirements are insanely complex, it's worth a look. It's worth way more than a look. Considering the price, it is possibly the best value in the industry. Pros? Backup to NAS, Exchange/SQL support, easy to setup & use. My favorite bit that others don't have: daily reports (no errors) can go to one email, while error reports can go to another. I love that. The price is another huge pro. "Server" backup solutions have been a thorn in the side of anyone who manages Windows servers. The cost of other products have added to the frustration with every other backup solution i have been through. I have experience with every widely distributed backup application and service and i can say without question, implementing the solution, begining with the free version quickly proved to me that the fully licensed version is well worth the money. The cost of backup solutions, however, is not nearly the most important factor in choosing a product. The stability and reliability dwarfs any other factors including cost. Iperius simply works. This is something that cannot be taken for granted when it comes to server backups. When i downloaded the free version and installed it on my test server, the simplicity and intuitive setup seemed too good to be true. The options such as sorcing the backup from shadow copies instead of the current files to avoid open file errors is one of many features that showed me that this product was well thought out. From the shadow copy option through every other decision in the setup, it became clear that i found a solution that was well planned. After testing the solution with several TB's of data sucsffully I have begun to install Iperius on all of my customer's servers. Rounding out the setup with options for Exchange email backup and recovery available in the full licensed version and the successful results i can say with certanty that this solution is well worth the cost in time, effort and licensing fees. it is a bargain! With the sudden resurgence of ransomware showing up in small businesses based in the United States and evidence that U.S. based organizations are specifically targeted with brute force attacks through RDP and hostile email phishing payloads, the "cost" of not having reliable backup solution is too great to monetize. Ransomware with the purely destructive intent, without any way to decipher the malicious encryption can easily destroy a business. A reliable backup reduces an event that can easily put an end to a business to a nucance that can be easily undone. This fact is the only reason anyone should need to install Iperius immediately. The danger is just too great to not have a solid backup solution. We all hope we will never have to restore our company's lifeline due to this type of attack, but if we do, we need to be prepared. Iperius is THE solution. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** The only thing that gave me a tiny bit of trouble was coveting Euros to Dollars. Clearly not an issue that really matted much. Very quick and easy to install and configure, it's ability to backup from multiple sources including VMWares free ESXI makes this an absolutely fantastic bit of software to have in your kit, and it's at the right price too. Supporting so many different features to get your teeth into makes it extremely versatile, or as simple to use as most people will ever need. Support tickets are answered quickly and effectively as well. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** Some of the documentation could do with being a bit clearer and some of the text in the software hasn't been translated into English. But really nothing which is problematic. **Recommendations to others considering Iperius Backup:** Trial it. It's brilliant. The only thing I would note is that according to their support team, it does not backup empty folders from the source. So even though your backup may appear incomplete, it may not actually be. Also familiarise yourself with running the software as a service with the correct credentials for connecting to and from backup sources. **What problems is Iperius Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to effectively backup multiple sources to multiple sources and have easy to read reports is something that's been a long standing issue being a majority MacOS business. It has the best and most current method to keep your data safe. It has the ability to send your backup copies to services such as Google Drive, Dropbox or One Drive. Had a slight issue with restoring files from a VM volume that wasn't appearing. We like that it uses VSS and it exports as VHD's meaning recovery process is as simple as creating a new VM and attaching the VHD. The software has a option for recovery however we prefer doing them manually. We also love the plain text log files which makes troubleshooting simple Support when needed was excellent. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** VHD compression takes forever regardless of hardware used. Ran it for over a year backing up a database and folders holding important files for a company I worked for and its still going with no issues as of now. **What do you dislike about Iperius Backup?** What I dislike about how the program handles errors in notifications. Some files won't be able to back up or cannot copy. There needs to be a way that these files can be marked so that even when the backup went fine those files you expect to fail can be marked off so the back up shows no errors. This would make the notification more useful. **Recommendations to others considering Iperius Backup:** For small to medium-sized company backup needs that can be on a server or even a client computer. Iperius Backup is the way to go. Especially if you do not have the staff or even contracted IT staff to monitor backups all that time. This product will keep you backed up and secure to know that its getting done. **What problems is Iperius Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** What backup problems I solved with Iperius were backups that had complicated routes and backups that needed to be done on various times, locations and devices. Iperius lets you do this exact thing very well. Multiple routes and version comparison backups all done in the time frames I wanted.
