## InVision Reviews
  ### 1. Good for Early Wireframes, but Little Value Once Figma Covers It All

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganapathi K. | Associate Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about InVision?**

It’s a good prototyping and wireframing mockup tool, and it’s easy to share visual mockups of user flows. I can share multiple screens with non-technical business users, which helps me quickly show what the UX flow looks like.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

It’s pretty much out of the game for us. We used this in the early stages of our development, but later on Figma itself had all of these features, along with the actual UI development and collaboration tools. Because of that, the value add ended up being almost nothing. We ultimately switched to using Figma for prototyping and for mock wireframing. It got outdated in it's features, we stopped using it last few years

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It partially solved us the problem of showing the user flows to different stakeholders with internactions and the prototype version to take the call on weather or not to go with a specific flow.

  ### 2. Still a good product even with new competitors in the market

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe M. | CEO, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Using the freehand... probably not the most common answer but I've used for a while and works just as needed.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

The prototyping is still good but newer tools are offering more capabilities and easier to use. Like Figma.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

white boarding. Again there are newer tools but this works just as good

  ### 3. InVision is good but figma & adobe Xd gives you more power

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul K. | UI/UX Designer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Learning curve is easy, and online platform give accessiblity at any point of time.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

Prototype and presentation via tool is not that convenient

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product design for startup with budget constraints is helping alot.

  ### 4. Prototyping made quick and easy (along with other useful tools!)

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2023

**What do you like best about InVision?**

InVision is a simple and versatile prototyping tool that allows teams to go from ideation to testing at any fidelity quickly and easily. Beyond prototyping, Freehand is a whiteboarding tool that allows guest access to collect info from users and stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

The prototyping functionality is slightly glitchy when building the links, so there's a need to triple-check whether all the links are correctly placed once the prototype is ready for testing.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InVision helps us conduct concept and usability testing to collect user feedback and ensure our designed solutions meet user needs. It has been integral in our implementation of our human-centered design process.

  ### 5. There seem to be better tools out there now

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about InVision?**

InVision was one of the first in its class of software. I really like that it is web-based which makes it accessible to many people beyond those that would have to install a desktop app.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

The fact that it's a web-app makes it a little cumbersome to use and perhaps fully maximize. We are slowly moving over to adobe xd and are much happier with the workflow and software.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

N/A

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We often need to mock up different ways in which software could be designed, used, and built. We use InVision to communicate those designs and allow users to walk through different flows.

  ### 6. Invision is very good software in terms of designing and if you want to design user interfaces.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyansh P. | UX UI Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2022

**What do you like best about InVision?**

The best thing about invision is it allows designers to navigate through their designs in the phone and give the best design tutorials

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

What is dislike about invision is it do not have their own community to help designers for assests

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

Invision is a good software and you can easily learn and use Invision by their internal tutorials

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems which i am solving while using invision is I am creating great and good looking user interfaces which help the clients to grow

  ### 7. InVision: UI prototyping made easy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** carlo r. | Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Very fast prototyping of UI/UX ideas. Liked the ability to switch from web app to iOS/Android style. Easy to access to other's work and to collaborate on the same design. If you need to work on the design on other pcs you can do it since everything is cloud-based.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

It's not so easy to get started. Sometimes doesn't save changes of the animations layout. Restricted number of animations and lack of personalization like smoothness of the input and frame rate.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

Nothing to declare

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast prototyping was one of the thing I was looking for the most. It's easy how I can sketch some layouts and the upload them on the go by using my iPhone and test it on other phones as well.

  ### 8. It's interesting

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about InVision?**

I like leaving comments right on the document

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

I don't like that it doesn't email me when new projects or comments are added but am not sure if that's just a notification setting issue that I need to figure out

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design proofing

  ### 9. Quick and easy to use for clickable wireframes or sketches.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2019

**What do you like best about InVision?**

most basic transitions and animations are available. Easy to use even for beginner.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

Unable to undo image replace although recorded in version history. Blue region highlighting interactive regions affects user testing by revealing cue.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clickable prototypes for user testing.

  ### 10. Invision

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about InVision?**

I like the ability to mirror real life web interactions through page transitions.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

Doesn’t currently support animations or microanimations.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to present prototypes to clients and stakeholders and show page flows.

  ### 11. Invision is maybe standard but it's buggy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2019

**What do you like best about InVision?**

It's an easy way to publish prototypes for sharing and usability testing

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

Invision share is slow, buggy af, and unreliable

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

If you're going to use with Customers, find something more stable

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for usability testing g web and move prototypes

  ### 12. Visions in InVision

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wireless | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about InVision?**

The communication about all things InVision is great, support is available whenever you need it

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

I haven't run into anything I dislike yet

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

The follow up and communication with this tool are great. They make it so that you don't get to forget

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementing a new ecommerce platform

  ### 13. Prototype Tool That Works

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lily Da H. | Digital Marketing Associate, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2018

**What do you like best about InVision?**

InVision provides a simple and straightforward solution to make sense of all the wireframe created in Sketch. It's easy to share and preview with coworkers.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

The lack of designing ability on Invision. Now that Sketch launched its own prototyping functionality, I am now worried about Invision 's furture.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

Try to come with more functionality that could compete with Sketch.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prototyping to make sense of all wireframes created, and how they work with each other.

  ### 14. Excellent for quick prototypes

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2018

**What do you like best about InVision?**

I use invision a lot to make prototypes for desktop and mobile. I like that it can sync with other cloud accounts and overall has an easy setup. You can drag and drop files with the same string of name and it would automatically update that frame or even let you know that you might be replacing an exisiting frame in the prototype.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

I wish that invision can allow to create hover and click on hotspots together at the same time. I think this feature can be useful when designing a menu bar that has hover states but you also want that hover state to be actionable.

user testing was a bit hard to find, need to make that easier to be accessed.

I also think that it is very easy to lose track of your shared links to prototypes.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being able to create quick prototypes is the key feature here. It saves a lot of going back and fort between the client and the team members.

  ### 15. I want to love it. But I can't

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

I like how easy it is to comment on designs and to mark the area that you are commenting on. I like how you can do some lite interactive mockups.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

I don't like how the designs are displayed when you share. The less internet savvy people at my company never realize that there are more than one mockups in the share. They say, "I just saw one image." For a while it seemed like this would be the end all be all tool for us, but automatically integrating it to our project management workflow has been difficult. It has become yet another tool that we have to check because our systems don't talk to eachother. The developers don't see all the prototypes/mockups automatically and have to be invited individually to each one. That is unless we upgrade them each to a much more expensive user type. They are not contributors, they just need to read.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

We thought that upgrading to enterprise invision was going to solve all of our problems. It did not. Ultimately, understand what process you want and then make sure the tool can accommodate. If you expect this tool to solve all of your problems, it will not.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting feedback on designs and collaborating with the design team and the development team.

  ### 16. It's good for quick prototyping

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

I like how easily it syncs with Sketch. I LOVE inspector.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

It has bugs. I can't revert a screen back to previous designs, even though it lets you look at old designs- that's just a tease. I can't send a developer a specific link to a screen in InVision so they can view the Inspector for that page. I can only send a link to an entire prototype (with 70+ screens in a prototoype, that's not useful) or send a public link to a specific page that can't access Inspector. There's not an obvious organized way to annotate designs - we tried doing this with the notes feature but it was confusing for the client and hard to manage.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

It's great for simple prototyping. Don't expect a lot more than that.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to share our designs with the client since they don't have Sketch or other design software. It's a time saver since we don't have to manually export screens to PDFs.

  ### 17. A Good tool for prototype and animate UI

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

it's perfect, because it's Free and intuitive. in no time you can have an animated prototype.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

I Would like the option o copy hospot. And a timeline for animations.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With this tool we can show the UI design with animations an interactions to the client. Without wasting time searching for a tool like after effects or mounting a presentation.

  ### 18. A very simple approach to prototyping

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

A very simple approach to pitch conceptual websites to clients. I not only love the simplicity of the workflow but love how clients understand and interact well with the designs presented to them. It's simple to work with and it's simple for a client to understand since it looks exactly like it would if it was a live website.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

With prototyping tools like Principal that work well with Sketch, it's tough to justify needing InVision solely for prototyping. It's easy to use, and it's good for clients but when it comes to power and options, it's lacking compared to other prototyping software.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

If you want a very easy to use prototyping tool that will communicate motion and flow of a design you're wanting to get signed off by a client, this is the way to go. If you're looking for more powerful prototyping software then you might want to look elsewhere, but the ease-of-use and simplicity of this software definitely makes it worth the while.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An easy understanding for a client to see their design in a very familiar format with very minimal explaining and a much better review that leaves with constructive criticism and not getting hung up on the little details since they're seeing those details by interacting with them in the prototype.

  ### 19. does the job

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2018

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Invision is easy to use and pick up and can handle multiple projects at once.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

There are limited prototyping features including a lack of microinteractions.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for usability testing which has hugely benefited us

  ### 20. Invision lacks app-vision

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Desktop version is somewhat intuitive but I haven't been able to access the tool at ALL through my ipad pro, which is unfortunate.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

The fact that their site is hardly usable on other mobile devices is rather restricting.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

If you're using Invision primarily through your desktop computer, it's a good tool. Otherwise, I would consider it a waste of time. As someone who heavily relies on apps that allow me to work on the go, Invision has been the worst web app to work with. It's apple store app? Even worse.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to create mock-ups in a collaborative setting is beneficial when constant feedback is recommended.

  ### 21. Great For Simple Prototypes. Key Word: Simple.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick W. | Creative Director + Strategist, UX/UI/Experience Designer, Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2016

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Invision has a really simple interface and very limited feature set that makes it easy to link hotspots to basic transitions/animations and other screens. Hotspot templates are great for things like menus that you'd otherwise need to manually wire (which could be quite repetitive).

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

Invision doesn't handle hover states that then allow the user to click very well. Contacted support and was given a super hacky workaround that wasn't useful.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

It's not the best but it's better than not having it. Flow is so important to an overall experience and simple clickable prototypes will beat out a bunch of static screens every time.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Static screens capture only a small part of the intended experience. Being able to link experiences together gives a user a better example of how things flow from one to the next and also how the experience as a whole may unfold.

  ### 22. Love the concept, but took a little while to figure some things out.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josiah J. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Love the elegant, simple interface, and the focus the client have on the designs without distraction.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

My first experience with InVision was with a client that was using it - and he told me to upload my revisions to the InVision project... I couldn't figure out how to upload - I eventually discovered I had to create an account and start the project myself. But it wasn't very clear to me.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

Tremendous option for website comps.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A solution to presenting design comps to clients with elegance and simplicity... especially great for website design comps.

  ### 23. Most feature complete web app feedback tool going

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2017

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Most feature complete of all the tools in this space. Depending on what your needs are, that can be good ore bad.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

In some ways, InVision tries to do a little too much. Setting up apps that have branching logic can be cumbersome.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

Worth comparing with other products, including MarvelApp to see if it it best fits your needs.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web application software

  ### 24. Great to see the beginning of your mobile app working, does not give a super realistic feel.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about InVision?**

Most useful functions are the hot spot templates for navigation, being able to set a fixed header and footer. They have added "fancy" features like gradient overlays and button overlays, but for some reason neither function seems to work for me.

It is also very helpful that they have both iOS, Android, and Web mocks for prototyping. I have not used this tool for wire framing but I will testing wireframes in the future.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

I dislike that you cannot interchange certain aspects of a single page of the design and have to upload each page png by png...

Design is moving towards having multiple cards that interchange or that you can delete, etc, not being able to just interchange one card with the one that follows (instead having to upload a whole new screen) strongly affects mobile apps not seeming real. Some complaints that I go when showing the prototype to users was that you could not swipe though cards that you had to click on it to change.. when in reality when coded the cards will swipe through.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

Can use as a basic prototyping tool, they also have created story boards and group evaluations if working with remote designers. If one is strictly using them for prototyping, there are other applications out there like Marvel that does the same job.

If InVision can make realistic transitions between images. that would be great. (just preset a background color or image, overlay image with cards, make each card a cut out point, and then can place in new cards to follow is swiped.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now we are solving for everything using by mocking up our app in InVision, from visual to UX/UI design. The benefit of seeing the sizing of the assets and type on a mobile phone is great, but InVision as a tool for transitions is not strong. I am hoping / assuming they are already working to fix this.

  ### 25. I've used it on various project

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ariana L. | Product Design Intern, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2016

**What do you like best about InVision?**

I like how fast it is, It feels like your using an actual application and it easy to iterate and change designs quickly, I also love how you can do different interaction designs such as drop down, swipe left, fade in etc. It really helps helps bring the product together. Another thing I really love is how easily sharable the project is, you can send a link or invite someone and they can comment on each page giving feedback which really helps me when designing.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

One thing I wish they could do is possibly make it easy for people to collaborate on it more, It would be interesting if you could design with someone on the same application on a wireframe instead of finishing the design then putting it into inVision, just a thought but would really help me as a designer.

**Recommendations to others considering InVision:**

It's very easy to use and fast.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many I've worked on various projects one was a fashion photo application for creative people who can pose as their favorite icons. Using inVision has really helped me see who everything flows from a usability perspective and from a branding perspective. My client is fashion magazine and it was very important to keep a specific branding and styling that truly reflects the style of their magazine. InVision helped me a lot with that.

  ### 26. UX Designer - have used InVision on my last 4 projects

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2016

**What do you like best about InVision?**

It's super easy to use--and I like the ease of sharing and collaborating with team members.

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

Can be glitchy sometimes when opening in a new tab.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating prototypes at all stages of my design process in order to do usability testing on the product and gain meaningful user insights to better iterate the next design.

  ### 27. Good first iteration prototype tool.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about InVision?**

The remote collaboration and the ease of use

**What do you dislike about InVision?**

The little interactions it has and only use for initial prototypes.

**What problems is InVision solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working on real life products that need more interactions to show the true prototype.
