**What do you like best about Inventor?**

It is a fast and easy-to-learn program where you can visualize 3D elements and perform calculations. You can export 3D files to other programs or 2D plans to AutoCAD.

Unfortunately, there are few academies that teach it, and sometimes it is not practical to use when the geometric shapes are very complicated because the constraints

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

Its a helpful tool for me ( i am  mechanical engineer) for making designs of products, taking into account the production, geometry, assembly, simulation of the materials, stress analisys and very other functions while i am developing in a friendly and smooth 3d interface.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

The render function of a object in the program can be a lot better, it can simulate the materials but the appereance dont look as real as can be with other softwares.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i can design a object form cero, check geometries, check and make assemblies, make renders for presentations, generate layouts and so on, its a very complete software.

For me iLogic and the power to automate assembly models has made my job easy. 

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

No center click orbit without holding down the shift key. This requires me to use both hands so I have to put my coffee down.

If you're looking to automate your product there is a wonderful community on the forums (supported with Autodesk employees) to help you figure every step.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much of what I create I've automated to the point that what took me a days is down to hours if not minutes.

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

It is very versatile and can easily be interchanged with other platforms especially within BIM. Very user friendly and can easily be customized to work with any projects and custom configurations.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

It still has to go that last mile in being able to make highly intensive and heavy detailing. 

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do day-to-day designing with Inventor and always has requirements to continue the modeling in Revit. The default rfa export completes the cycle and helps me save a lot of time and just keep going with the flow.

I like the flexibility of being able to design anything in Inventor.  I do mechanical design, but I also do some architectural designs too.  since I know Inventor well I do everything in Inventor.

I have not run into anything I do not like.

Get training!

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I am trying new concepts out I will use Inventor to try the various ideas until I find the one I like.  The benefit of narrowing the designs down to the one design that works save so much time down stream.

My favorite part about inventor is that every year they are coming out with new features that help improve my productivity at work. Many company’s have become stagnant in there design but autodesk is always striving to do more. 

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

I think there is still lots of improvements for automation in assembly constraints that would save lots of time.

Give it a try.

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

It is a best mechanical CAD 3D software with huge capabilities to do fast and efficient modelling with help of various tools present. It will also do finite element analysis once we finish with modelling. We can also do CAM operations like cutting using HSM tool. Therefore it is combination of all CAD, CAE and CAM. It also got awesome graphics and rendering is very good. It is very easy to use compared to other CAD softwares

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Recently they changed from lifetime licence package to annual package which will cost more over the time.

**Recommendations to others considering Inventor:**

Guys this is best software in market where you get integration of all three CAD, CAE and CAM

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I currently used it for axle and suspension design.

iLogic. Game changing ability to automate repetitive tasks and customize parts, prints, and solutions automatgically

Documentation. Hard to find current documentation and there's a lot of old (and wrong) documentation still floating around.

Massive improvements in time to create custom solutions by using iLogic to automate many tasks

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

I love the freedom to design whatever you'd like in 3d. And to have a reality based model that can help streamline your CAD processes and provide better quality drawings and eliminate user error from BOM

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Inventor is not drafter friendly! I wish it would implement the same drafting processes used in autocad. It would be much easier for skeletons and creating drawings.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We just started using Inventor for SDA (substation design automation). We are having problems that are mainly user-based... sick constraints/problems w/Vault, etc.

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

The ability to generate part or assembly models quickly and then generate drawings. The best part is when you make changes to the model the drawings update automatically. 
I also like to use the master part approach so you can change the base model parametrically to get revised new part and assembly models and drawings.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Difficult to automate design using the API.

Very intuitive software with power to take on most any field.

Mostly fit problems but I also like the ability to analyze the model using FEA.

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

Starting in AutoCAD, I found that using Inventor was much more flexible and adaptable.  I also like that there is such a variety of things that can be done with Inventor.  Most recently, I have been using iLogic.  

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Inventor takes up a lot of space on your hard drive.  Really, that's about it and I'm not even really concerned with that.

**Recommendations to others considering Inventor:**

Excellent software.  Consider implementing with vault, as well.

We are using Inventor for fit ups, analysis, and creating parametric models and drawings.

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

The ease in which a 3D part can be made then incorporated into the assemblies. It also lets you make a part with ease from so many other programs as they are sent from outside sources. It is very user friendly for the novice and for the user who has been using from the first offering as I have.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

The program does not let you save "backwards" into the previous versions of Inventor that other users are supplying.  Not all companies can afford subscription updates so the drawings are not shareable from 2019 forward. Nor can parts from other programs be inserted as solids...they seem to always come as surfaces.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making molds has become a breeze. Benefits are the forums and help pages that AutodesK provides when we are stuck on an issues with performance.

Material and weight are east to do. Easy to export to CAD and to create PDF drawings to submit to the client. 

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Piping is not as easy as AutoCAD Plant 3D. Wish there was a way to auto connect piping components.

Having fea simulation built right in is probably the my favorite thing. The ability to do piping is also awesome.

The inability to open Solidworks files and recognize features and assembly constraints is a pain in the rear.

Eliminating premature part failures by using simulation.

Using Inventor since born from Mechanical Desktop, I have seen each and every development of this tool, Also I have been the guru of Inventor for past 15 years.I have implemented Inventor and Vault and trained the team from scratch. I love this tool, in spite of know 5 other CAD tools, this is the only comfortable tool I used in my experience.

I dont think there is anyt thing to complain aboth this tool

the learning curve, but that is really more on transition from 2d to 3d so its OK

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

It was very easy to learn and use by watching basic tutorials. I self thought myself to model basic sheet metal parts to then turn into assemblies and see how it looks and fits together in real time. What i really liked about it as well, when i had a complete assembly done, I could see how much it weighed (providing i had input the correct sheet metal parameters) and what the area was for painting. 

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

For someone like me in  a smaller job shop it was a bit expensive, and it needed a very powerful computer to run. Otherwise the software is not very reliable ad crashed easy.

**Recommendations to others considering Inventor:**

It is a great product to take away the guessing game when manufacturing square to round transitions, or even tubular products.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I could draw up conveyor assemblies and cut them out and the parts fit together great. A key benefit, is also bends on sheet metals. It would take into consideration the growth at every bend. Also, when i hot dip galvanize some parts i cut and welded, i could easily get a quote what it would cost me.

Inventor has a robust set of tools for designing and engineering. The UX is streamlined really well, allowing ease from one task to the next.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

However, some of the most basic elements such as drawings seem to have been forgotten. Needles amount of steps are used to manage styles. Work becomes extremely tedious trying to get a drawing to look a certain way.

I like the Tube and Pipe Functionality. That is the most useful part of Inventor for my industry.

**What do you like best about Inventor?**

-Its a very perfect tool and very useful in structural field for production of mechanical drawings and modelling of Mechanical 3D models.

-The product also has the ability in  2D drawings and documents production. It can also do rendering of various 3D models in some industries.

-Easy to customize Inventor, from Menu, Ribbon rearranging, Key board shortcuts etc. Through this, different Engineers from different industries can customize Inventor to his/her working style depending on the field of work and the service to be produced.

-Its a documents management software, which produces quality services for business marketing and also for presentation purposes

-Inventor is very good product for collaboration, especially in projects with multiple users and it allows files Exporting.

Inventor is a great software, and apart from slow running when very much loaded like any other product, Inventor is perfect.

The features I like most are 3D modeling and real - time 2d project, adaptive features.

I dislike that the platform doesn't include a spellcheck feature.

The feature of Inventor I like the best is its compatibility to be used with a wide variety of applications, such as sheet metal, tubing applications, or standard product design.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

I dislike the pop-up windows for each tool that is used- I prefer the locked-in toolbar view.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving problems involving fluidic pathways for medical device and industrial automation customers. We have seen benefits such as quick response time to customers, which has improved our customer's relationship with us.

I like the integration with autocad and the ability to make STL files for use with my 3D Printer

I have nothing that I dislike so far as I have been able to easily use Inventor for work and home.

Inventor is a very good program for use with mechanical design along with the analysis function. Its also a great tool to use for  3D printing slicers as it exports in STL format.

Ribbon is well separated making it easy to find most tools.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Repeatablility in some instances is limited compared to Solidworks. Click and drag parts within the model window would be nice.  Auto-constrain of some parts like bolts would help.

**Recommendations to others considering Inventor:**

Great CAD package. Vault for this is the best out there.  Shape library capabilities are spectacular.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi-body part files helps a ton with miter-folded wood parts.   They can be modeled in final shape and direct edited to look like they will off the machine.

The software allows for ease of design and documentation of mechanical assemblies.

some of the database content does not actually follow the technical standards thus taking more time to design individual components.

I like that they have come a long way since from when i started using it.

I dislike the importability from importing other platforms other than Autodesk products.

Inventor's feature set and ease of use provides opportunities to be productive at every turn. Intuitive UI controls and lightning fast calculations make designing complex geometry a breeze. 

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

If I had to choose something that I dislike it would be that some options when exporting files to other CAD formats are not easy to find or documented as well as they could be.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complex geometry in small parts. Without Inventor we would still be drawing these in 2D.

Moving from from other parametric modeling software back into inventor, my favorite benefit is the stability of the software.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

iparts and configurations seem less intuitive/functional (without using the API) compared to competing software

use the community forums when you are stuck. They provide great support and generally the problem you are experiencing is already solved.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I teach the software to new users (college students). The built in tutorials are not as cleanly integrated into inventor as other products.

The ability to use multiple assemblies and sub assemblies to create a model.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

The stability of very large assemblies is terrible. The product should start being capable of housing hundreds of thousands of parts for certain engineering tasks with acceptable stability.

BIM and clearance checking has become easier with Inventor. We have seen that if accurate model data is used and available we can see potential risks ahead of time vs using a 2D platform.

not able to easily export cam work to x carve inventables, it isn't very user friendly to the lamen. animated export in exploded views usualy look grainy. I cant use i ton my laptop. in exploded view the most current snapshot isnt always updated and reflected in dwg

Inventor is a powerful tool as a design CAD software mainly for its integrated Nastran simulation features. Very helpful and easy to modify/simplify geometry for analysis while maintaining true geometry for drawings

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

Though the integrated nastran simulations are a huge benefit, it lacks the integration of a CFD space for integral thermal and flow models

Inventor has helped to get quick analytical models to prove out quick r&d development projects

I like ilogic because it has changed the way we do things ar Sauder Woodworking.  We have made things more user friendly for the user and made things more standard.  We also linked our manufacturing limits to our models via spreadsheets.  We are just getting into the Inventor API but we are still new to using that.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

I dislike the dimensioning.  Sometimes you have to go back and add members.

Speed, ease of use. Loads of standard components out of the box, free. iLogic baked in, again part of the software at no additional charge.

Some of the older interfaces (which I know are being modernised, eg hole command is way better now)

I like the most is sheet metal modelling with inventor. It is easy and adaptable for beginners also and u can create whatever sheet metal parts you want in inventor very fast. Assembly modelling is also good in inventor.

I mostly don't like the surface modelling and modify or we can say synchronous modelling on inventor.

Inventor is best for 3D modelling, assembly and drafting .You can satisfy your demands with inventor easily.

I mostly solved the problem related sheet metal modelling and drafting problems. As per my experience with inventor, the Bills of Materials (BOM) creation is best in inventor.

I like the 3D modeling aspect of Inventor.  The user interface is fairly user-friendly.  It is easy to get started and yet there are a lot of additional features that can be grown into.

We are currently in the process of converting our SolidWorks models and drawings to Inventor files.  There seems to be a lot of issues with the process.

Overall - it handles any need I've run into. The software has features in different aspects of modeling and manufacturing.

**What do you dislike about Inventor?**

The complexity of the licensing is not appreciated. Also, many changes are being made, to change the input/interface. Things were working fine, they didn't necessarily need to be changed.

**What problems is Inventor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The sheet metal functionality saves a lot of time, not having to calculate anything manually.
